Rating: Summary: Very good book. A page turning, edge of seat, nail biter. Review: This is my second Hoag book. My first was A Thin Dark Line. This was an excellent book. Having worked in law enforcement and prosecution for over 10 years, and 4 of those as an elected District Attorney, I loved the reality of this and ATDL. My favorite aspect of Hoag books is her ability to point the finger of suspicion to numerous characters in her books. Giving you just enough to be suspicious, but not enough to convict. But then, the villain is never who you suspect, and is always quite a shocking suprise. I am definitely hooked on Hoag. Her ability to paint stories of cops and prosecutors is almost dead on. Obviously a lot of research has been done in the field of law enforcement. Thanks for a delightful read Tami.
Rating: Summary: It's all right -- nothing great Review: I read the book. It is all right. Nothing great. Most of the time the flow of the story was quite interesting, but sometimes I wondered if Ms. Hoag gets paid by the word. Some relationships in the story were not necessary, except for filling up pages. The characters are good, but the end does not make much sense. Why did this person do it? How come the person appears in the role it does at the end ONLY? Nah, I have read much better.
Rating: Summary: Disgusting Review: I did not finish the book, I tried to get into the story but I found it extremely disgusting, couldn't get beyond the violence and profanity. Why do authors, who are capable of writing an entertaining mystery thriller, have to resort to violence and profanity. Tami Hoag is a has-been in my list of enjoyable story tellers
Rating: Summary: scary!!!!!! Review: tami hoag has done it again!!! i think this is my favorite of her books by far. i could not put the book down. i had many sleepless nights but it was worth it!!! thank you tami!
Rating: Summary: Better have a strong stomach Review: The book has good pace, character devolpment and style, but the graphic details were more than I could handle after the Chinese food I ordered!
Rating: Summary: Tami Hoag is a good writer with good stories to tell. Review: But, for pete's sake, would someone tell me what happened to the cat? I cared more about Thor than I did any of the human characters.
Rating: Summary: It was terrible! Review: I am sorry. You can tell me that this is only fiction, but who needs to read about such grusome acts. In today's society, they are sure to come true and I have no need to read about them. I will not read another Hoag book as long as she continues to write in this dark way. Go back to happy books!!
Rating: Summary: An okay thriller. Not one of Tami Hoag's best. Review: If I had it to do over again, I would have waited for the paperback! As a big fan of Tami Hoags most recent thrillers, I was excited about getting Ashes to Ashes. I like the way she intertwines mystery, murder and mayhem with romance. However, I do not feel the same about this one. I found the strong-willed, independent heroine to be pretty obnoxious at times. I also found the "romance" self-talk fairly juvenile. I became somewhat bored half-way through the novel and had trouble finishing it.
Rating: Summary: This book kept me guessing until the end. I loved it! Review: Being from Minnesota and being familiar with the streets, parks and buildings mentioned in the book added to my enjoyment! I like mysteries and romance and Tami has a good mix. The story was sometime cruesome and hard for me to imagine, it was also hard to put down.
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable. Fast-paced read. Review: I enjoy Tami Hoag's novels. Yes, they are a 60/40 mix of romance and suspense, but, since I like romances, that's okay with me. However, with Ashes to Ashes, Hoag seems to be trying more of a 50/50 mix. This novel kept my attention, but I didn't find it so suspenseful that I was frightened. Ashes to Ashes is simply an enjoyable read. However, there were a couple of things that bugged me. What's with the word "pro-active"? And I too would like to know what happened to Thor the Norwegian Forest Cat.
