Rating: Summary: Ok.... Review: I thought that Moonlight Becomes You was exciting at just a few points. I mean, you've got your romance, your killer, your beautiful main character, and your very suspenseful ending but most of it is just plain boring. Mary Higgins Clark spends all of this time describing things that aren't really that important and that didn't interest me at all. This book is like one of those boring soap operas...it's just plain stupid until you get to the special part. All of the death in this book was really upseting...if you want a good Mary Higgins Clark book, I'd reccommend You Belong To Me and I've heard that A Cry In The Night is good.
Rating: Summary: Keeps You on Your Toes Review: Mary Higgins Clark's exciting thriller will keep you on your toes through the entire book. The chapters leave you hanging, it makes you want to read on and never stop. The author does a excellent job of portraying all the characters. She makes you feel like you are living Maggie Halloway's life, not watching her life. This is an excellent book, the only bad part I can think of is that your not sure of the killers are until the very last chapter, which keeps you guessing.
Rating: Summary: Boring Review: I was disappointed with this one. There was very little suspense (the last 15 pages or so were good, but that's about it), and with the exception of Maggie, these characters were boring. Most of this story takes place in or centers around a nursing home. I found this book boring and depressing. Don't bother with this one.
Rating: Summary: Great book. Review: I rarely read mystery novels. I usually read Tom Clancy-type espionage books. But I must say that this book really surprised me. It might even be a bit better than some of Clancy's (not all, just some.) It was very well written, with a great plot. The author did an ingenious job of rationing the amount of information given. The killer was the person who I thought was one of the least likely suspects. This is definitely worth reading, even if you're not a fan of this genre.
Rating: Summary: Keeps you guessing Review: I enjoyed this book from start to finish. I thought after a few chapters I knew who the killer was but boy was I wrong. Imagine my surprise when I discovered who was placing those Victorian bells at his or her grave. This is one you gotta read...
Rating: Summary: Great! Review: My Mother has always loved to read... I share that trait with her. When I read this book, I was amazed! I've read Mystery novels before, but this one surprised me! It is the Best Book I have ever read... I have also listened to it on audio book, and I enjoyed that too. I greatly suggest that you buy this book, I know from experience, you won't regret it!
Rating: Summary: Easy, Fun Reading Review: This was the second book I read by MHC. I have to admit that this book was better than "You Belong to Me." It was harder to figure out, the plot was more complex, but I was still able to predict the killer early on. I think her descriptions were still lacking, though I could easily picture the setting in my mind, though, if I wasn't a New England native, it may not have been so easy. MHC does have one technique she uses effectively that I admire - her ability to switch the camera to another character's point of view. As always, MHC writes an interesting, fast paced mystery novel that is fun to read though not over loaded with substance.
Rating: Summary: What happened? Review: This book was the most boring Mary Higgins Clark book I have ever read. I usually love her books and can't put them down, but I found myself struggling to finish this one. I mean, most of the story takes place in a NURSING HOME! Wooo, that's thrilling. I'm normally a huge fan of Clark's, but I have to say that this book disappointed me greatly. To anyone who's never read Clark's books before, I recommend "A Cry in the Night" or "Pretend You Don't See Her" and advise you to skip this one.
Rating: Summary: NOT one of Clark's best Review: I have read only a couple of Mrs. Clark's books, and of the ones I have read, this one just did NOT grab my attention like the other's did from the very beginning. This one was more dragged out, boring, and not to the point, that took way too much more than it should of to make you want to keep reading. So if you are looking for a very suspensful book that will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting to read more, I do NOT believe you should read this one, it will let you down greatly.
Rating: Summary: Clark Does it Again Review: What a book! This one had me grabbed till the end. A wonderful story of a lost soul that finds her long lost step-mother, and when she dies, tries to find the killer. From Funeral Parlors to Rainy Fields, to Lantham Manor, a Beautiful Funeral Home, this book is GREAT!
