Rating: Summary: Monlight Becomes You Review: This Mary Higgins Clark book is an extremely suspenseful read. I liked this book because of the way Clark decided to let Maggie and Naula meet. It was a wonderful way to start the unpredictable novel. This book is so thrilling that it will have you reading day and night. Taking place in Rhode Island, this book is about Maggie Holloway, a successful fashion photographer. While accompanying Liam Moore, Maggie's good friend, to a Moore-Payne reunion, she is reunited with her once stepmother, Naula Moore. In order to "catch up on things", Naula invites Maggie down from her Massachusetts apartment to come to her home for a week. Upon arriving there, she finds out that a burglar on a random break-in had killed Naula. Desperate to find out whom the murder is; Maggie explores the world of Latham Manor, the wealthy nursing home Naula was supposed to live in, and the cemetery where Naula was buried. This book's ending is so suspenseful; you will be on the edge of your seat, reading until you come to the last page.
Rating: Summary: Moonlight Becomes You Review: Moonlight Becomes You, by Mary Higgins Clark This mystery begins with its heroine buried alive in a casket. I initially avoided this book when it came out because that scene seemed too macabre and not what I would normally expect from Mary Higgins Clark. However, Clark stays true to form in this mystery and the bulk of the book concentrates on how Maggie (a professional photographer and now amateur sleuth) came to be buried alive. The mystery surrounds a high income assisted living home for the elderly, Latham Manor. Apartments are purchased for high prices and belong to the occupant until death. Upon death, the ownership of the apartment is automatically transferred back to the owner of Latham Manor. Clark treats her many older characters with respect by reminding us how interesting people of any age can be. Maggie is drawn into the plot when her, long lost and suddenly newly found, stepmother Nuala hosts a dinner party in her honor. Maggie arrives late and instead of finding a party, she finds a surprise of a different sort. This book contains the usual roller coaster ride that Clark tends to give her readers. The plot has many twists and turns that have you hanging on for dear life, while taking you to a destination that you're not quite sure of. This was definitely a fun mystery to read.
Rating: Summary: The Dead Don¿t Ring Bells Review: In the Nineteenth Century Victorians feared being buried alive. Some of them had s bell hung over their grave with a string threaded through an air vent in the coffin, so they could ring it if necessary, and they had their graves watched for a week after burial in case the bell rang. New York photographer Maggie Holloway becomes the target of a serial killer when she discovers a link between the murder of her elderly stepmother and the deaths of several wealthy older women at Latham Manor, a Newport mansion, a retirement center. While visiting the women's graves, she notices each has a bell buried near the headstone, a macabre gesture by the killer who has an elaborate financial scam underway. As Maggie gets closer to the truth, she unwittingly puts herself in danger of being buried alive.
Rating: Summary: This is a great book! Review: Photographer Maggie Holloway is reunited with her stepmom Nuala, who hasn't seen Maggie for a long time. Nuala then wants Maggie to stay with her for a couple of weeks in Newport. When Maggie arrives, she finds out that Nuala has been murdered. Maggie then finds out that Nuala's house is left in her name. Maggie wants to know who did this and why they did it to her stepmom. She also wants to know what the intruder was looking for when they trashed the house. Who was it and why her?? Maggie just wanted a peaceful, fun week with her stepmom that she hadn't seen for ever. This is the first book I have read by Mary Higgins Clark. Its a great book. The book hooked me at the beginning and I found every chance that I could to read it. I've never liked reading much until this book. I could read her books over and over again. The only confusing thing was there was a lot of character and I did get them mixed up from time to time. It's not really a gushy-mushy book. It's fairly easy to read. I do recommend this book to anyone who likes mysterys, and easy reading.
Rating: Summary: Moonlight Becomes You Review: This book tells the tale of a young woman named Nell who finally finds her long lost stepmother Nuala. Nell goes to stay with Nuala for a quiet two-week vacation so that they can catch up on each others lives, but when she arrives at the lovely old Victorian style house she is stunned to find that Nuala has been murdered, apparently the victim of a burglary. But Nell has the feeling that Nuala's death is part of a more complex scheme that involves all the deaths of those rich old women living at a fancy nursing home, Lathom Manor. Nell thinks that all the deaths have something to do with a man called Earl. A scary man obsessed with death and burial. Then there's Liam Moore Payne, Earl's charming cousin that Nell seems to have fallen head over heels for, but does he have something other than Nell in that handsome head of his? Can Nuala's good friend Mrs. Shipley help Nell discover the secret of Lathom Manor or will Nell be next on this evil murder's list? I enjoyed this book very much because of the suspense and the surprises that lurk in every corner. The ending is so great and so unexpected that I wish there were more. The person behind the murders is the one that you would least expect but he is right under your nose the whole time. I definitely recommend this book, Its great!

Rating: Summary: Moonlight Becomes You Review: My wife convinced me to give her favorite writer a chance since I like a good suspenseful story. I found her pick rather dissappointing. The premise of elderly folks being killed for monetary gain is nothing new in fiction. The fact that it went on so long with no one uncovering the heinous acts ruined the book's believeability. There were no real twists in the story that a reader could not figure out. Also, the heroine is no great catch. She spends a huge part of her time missing obvious clues and growing upset that a certain man she has a romantic interest in (and who is too good for her) can't read her mind. There is a creepy and suspenseful opening to the book that lets you know immediately that the main character is in dire peril, but I'm sad to say that as the story unfolds, and you get to know her better, you find yourself rooting for the heroine's rescuer to show up several minutes too late. I'm sure Mary Higgins Clark is a fine writer, but this book can't be an example of her best work.

Rating: Summary: Dreadful Review: This book was a HUGE disappointment. I have been a long time fan of Mary Higgins Clark, but I found that I had to make myself read this book in order to finish it. I also found the end to be predictable and it was easy to figure out who the killers were. This book is a waste of time and money.
Rating: Summary: Exciting but creepy !!! Review: What a fabulous, exciting and just-creepy-enough read this is.Maggie Holloway is a successful New York photographer who unexpectedly meets her former stepmother, Nuala after a gap of many years. Maggie agrees to visit Nuala in her Newport home for a short stay but upon her arrival, finds Nuala dead after a vicious beating.Maggie learns that Nuala changed her will in her favour only the day before and also changed her mind about selling her house and going to live in a luxurious retirement establishment.Nuala had left a request that Maggie visit her friend Greta who already lives in this retirement home and, when Greta dies unexpectedly that same evening, begins to feel that something is terribly wrong. Mary Higgins Clark incorporates some strange and slightly macabre touches with sinister props, a local weirdo and the feeling that Maggie should be looking over her shoulder--a lot !!!
