Summary: A very good thriller
Review: I believe that The Ugly Duckling is a very good book, although I was a little bit confused about what type of book it was, because for a minute it seemed like a horror then a mystery and finally it seemed like a romance novel. I truly enjoyed the book. I had to read it in order to do my Novel Analysis for English and I must truly admit that Iris Johansen is a very outspoken and intellectual individual. I give her two thumbs up. She is such a great author that everyone was trying to urchase one of her books, but we couldn't because we were not allowed to all have the same book. By reading this book it has convinced me to read other books by Iris johansen. It only took me two and a half days to read this book, but forever to do the assignment because I kept going back reading the book over and over again. I wish Iris Johansen the best of luck in her remaining future with her writing

Summary: Hated It!
Review: I've read several of Iris' novels and this is by far my least favorite. The title was very misleading to me. I felt the plot was unrealistic and slow going. After I finished the book, I came away with a feeling of dissatisfaction. There was not much about this book that I could praise! I would skip it.

Summary: Can't believe it
Review: wonderful book I read 3 or 4 of her books before this one which I did for an English report and it was wonderful. The mystery/suspence was top. some places had you right there on the edge of your chair. Highly recommended. I LOVED it. Nell's character was so catching that I just enjoyed reading the book because I saw some of my friends in her. Tanek was also a wonderful character. He was compassonate when he knew he shouldn't have been and he had a catching personality.

Summary: loved it
Review: The Ugly Duckling was the first book i read of Iris Johansens. It was my favorite. It wasnt so much realistic, but it did show you how strong someone could be facing a horrible nightmare. This book pulls you into the characters, rooting for love and revenge. I sugest if you decice to read Iris Joansons books you read this one first, you wont regret it.

Summary: What a debut!
Review: This was an excellent book! I could not put it down! It was very exciting, and I loved the transformation of the character from "ugly duckling" to "beautiful swan." It's definitely a great read...just enough suspense, mystery and romance combined. I highly recommend this book!
