Summary: ANOTHER WINNER...FROM JOHANSEN
Review: John Logan is in a desperate situation, his top secret project has been sabotaged, all employed are dead except for one man being held for ransom by a madman hell-bent on revenge. Logan knows he must rescue the man in order to find out what secrets he knows, and to save his life. For this mission to work, Logan will need the cooperation of the expert search/rescue team of Sarah Patrick and her golden retriever, Monty.

Sarah is not a big fan of Logan and is furious that she is forced to help him.

Once the mission has begun, Sarah realizes Logan's promises of safety may not be enough...for Sarah has become an object in the killer's plan.

The clock is ticking for Sarah and Logan to put a stop to anymore killings.

"The Search" is EXCELLENT summer reading. It is an exciting, fast-paced and well-written thriller, that all readers will enjoy.

Iris Johansen has scored another HIT, bringing back characters from her previous novel "The Killing Game".

A MUST read.

Summary: Couldn¿t Eat, Couldn¿t Sleep, Not Until I Finished this Book
Review: Eve Duncan and Sarah Patrick are back in this fast paced thriller from Iris Johansen, only this time Eve takes the supporting role and Sarah the lead. Monty, Sarah's tracker dog, is back as well, and with a wolf for a love interest, what a wonderful sideline that is.

John Logan, Eve's ex-lover, kind of forces Sarah to use Monty to help him rescue his friend who had been kidnapped in South America. Why Monty was the only tracker dog on the planet that could do this, I never quite understood, but be that as it may, Logan's a billionaire and gets what he wants.

The super bad guy, Martin Rudzak, is used to getting what he wants as well, and what he wants is revenge and not only against Logan. He wants Sarah and Monty to pay too.

Even though I had some problems with this book, I have to say that I couldn't put it down. I couldn't eat, couldn't sleep, couldn't read ahead either, because that would be cheating. When you get a book like that, you've just got to give it five stars.

Summary: terrific romance thriller
Review: This is my first book by Iris Johansen, but it will not be the last. Johansen is a gifted writer who brings depth and passion to her characters at the same time she weaves a rich and compelling story. I really enjoyed this, and literally stayed up all night to finish it.

Sarah and her golden retriever Monty form a well-respected rescue team, so the action moves all around the globe, and apparently characters from previous books are here as well. At first I felt a bit lost because it was obvious that these characters had a history but, even though I hadn't read those other novels, Johansen did a superb job of revealing their history as the story unfolded. By the end I was really interested in these people and anxious to know what the outcome of the book would be. The romance was believable and passionate. This was truly an entertaining book written for intelligent adults. Great summer read!

Summary: Riveting as Always....
Review: Iris Johansen brings billionaire John Logan back in this great romantic thriller. It centers around Sarah Patrick and Monty who are part of a K-9 search and rescue team.

The book was great and I especially enjoyed a small introduction on various aspects of search and rescue teams. The bond that was captured in this novel of Sarah and her love for her dog, Monty was wonderful.

The plots and subplots were intense and I never find Iris Johansen's books to be "light or cozy" reading. They are so riveting and compelling that my heart is in my throat until the last page.

Another really great book!

Summary: Stupid!
Review: One of the dumbest books I have ever read. The author knows nothing about search dogs and makes it apparent.

Summary: good but not great
Review: i love iris johansens books - and the characters. i quite enjoyed this book but found it short and lacking some of the depth of her other books. still, worth reading !

Summary: Puppy Love
Review: THE SEARCH is a fast and entertaining story of "The Bickersons", search and rescue worker Sarah Parker and John Logan, the indefatigable billionaire who verbally spar with each other until they submit to the unevitable. Their change in attitude toward each other is just in time to confront the villain who is trying to destroy a secret research plant. Golden Retriever Monty, Sarah's panting pal, falls in love with a wolf in a sub-plot from this converted romance author.

Summary: A Good Way to Wile Away a Rainy Afternoon
Review: Threatened with the loss of Monty, her search and rescue dog, Sarah Patrick (introduced to us in Johansen's "The Killing Game") agrees to help John Logan (back from Johansen's last two books) find his friend who was kidnapped from his research facility in Colombia. Sarah and Monty successfully complete the mission, but Logan's lethal enemy wants revenge and he has Sarah and Monty in his sights.

I loved the fact that Johansen decided to give Sarah and Monty a book of their own. However I didn't much like Logan in the last to novels and I can't say I much like him in this one either. I understand Johansen has her roots in romance, but I wish Sarah would have given Mr. Billionaire a pass.

Anyway, I loved the book four stars worth. It's a good escapist read. As my friend Vesta Irene would say, reading this book is a good way to wile away a rainy afternoon or any other afternoon for that mater.

Summary: The Search
Review: Praise. If you are looking for a cozy this is not it. Full of suspense, twists and turns,. Johansen pulled me into the story, and I couldn't read fast enough to see how things went. I felt like I not only personally knew everyone in the book; I wanted to know more about them and their facinating career choices . I highly recommend this book ,Johansen has another fan.
