Rating: Summary: not up to par for sue grafton Review: this is a good story and had me guessing as to 'who dunnit' until almost the very end. it is a good book for easy summer reading. i believe that the character of kinsey malone is becoming a bit stale, though. something needs to be recharged if this series is to go the distance. onward to 'z'!
Rating: Summary: The book was okay but the ending was great Review: I've only read two of Grafton's books--N is for Noose and L is for Lawless. After reading the 'L' book, I still wasn't sure what I thought about Kinsey but I loved her dynamic, pushy nature in the 'L' book, something that seemed to be missing from Noose. The ending, however, was excellent. I don't remember the last time I laughed out loud when reading a book and that laughter made the book worth reading. Still, the ending was kind of hard to swallow and I hope Kinsey does more in the future other than getting chased around or beat up (I'm kinda wanting Kinsey to get a bit tougher, I guess). Still, it was a fun book.
Rating: Summary: I waited so long and I was really disappointed..... Review: I have been a fan of Kinsey Malone since I first started reading the series, but I have to say I was truly disappointed in this one. She completely forgot to mention much about her old neighbor...it was almost like he never existed! It really didn't hold your interest for that long. I sure hope if the next book is an O it will be a lot better that this one.
Rating: Summary: The most disappointing and ineffective tale of the Series! Review: If you're truly a Kinsey Milhone fan, you would think N is for Noose was written by someone other than Sue Grafton. The story never left the ground and the "pals" we've all become so familiar with in the series were nearly nonexistent. The plot was trite, lacked imagination and never was a mystery from the inception. One hates to feel so cheated after enjoying our heroine and the series from A to N. Better luck next time, Sue. A better editor would never have let this one off the press.
Rating: Summary: A total lack of action/suspense Review: The book was thoroughly boring for the first 150 pages. It took Grafton took long to get to the "meat" of the story. The ending seemed exciting at first, but it is too far fetched!!
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down, read it in less than 24 hours. Review: Sue Grafton did it again! This is one of the best in the series so far. It took me less than 24 hours to read it, I couldn't put it down. Sue Grafton makes Kinsey Milhone seem like a real person that you would want for a friend. One just like my own best friend. I can't believe that I read it so fast, now I have to wait again.
Rating: Summary: I guess I'll have to wait for "O"! Review: Well, it's still Kinsey being her most "Kinsey-ish" self, but that's about it! Kinsey is a great, realistic character that carries the day in Sue Grafton's excellent novels...but even Kinsey can't carry this weak plot and flat characters. There is still some snappy dialogue, and the characters all seem as real as your own Aunt Matilda, or your next door neighbor (whom you would like to punch in the nose!) but this time it feels like you never even get to really know them. Since relating to the characters (and I mean CHARACTERS) is one of the high points of Grafton's books, this is a real disappointment. In the first 50-60 pages, NOTHING happens; in the rest of the book, LITTLE happens, and then it concludes with the "big revelation" in 3 pages with a villain we barely met (although WE all spotted him in the first 10 minutes - apparently this time Kinsey must have been semi-conscious to have missed it!) Of course it is tough to keep novels like hers coming time after time (and we can all forgive this one) - but did Ms.Grafton read it before she sent it to her editor? If so, she was as clueless as Kinsey was in this one!
Rating: Summary: It was alright. Review: I've read all her other previous books with B is for Burgler being my favorite. But with N is for Noose I didn't enjoy it as much. It left me kinda flat. As usual Kinsey was cool and I do love reading about her adventures. N is for Noose just didn't cut it.
Rating: Summary: Save your money Review: This is the only really disappointing book in this series. Kinsey's so dumb she apparently never figures out who the two most likely suspects are, since she keeps blabbing to them, and the motive finally ascribed to one of them is vague in the extreme. In fact, very little of the plot is believable.
Rating: Summary: A little bit of a let-down Review: Like most of the readers, I was a little disappointed with "N". It was a tad bit boring until the rapid end. But it was all worth it to know that Robert Dietz is still in Kinsey's life. I for one think they're perfect for each other and hope they're still together in "O".
