Summary: Jack's Back In Grand Style!
Review: I have to agree with Susan's review above and add that I think this is the best Repairman Jack story yet. This limited edition is bound in red leather, signed by the author and Stan Wiater, a fine author in his own right, who wrote the afterword. There is an interesting and enlightening chart at the end of the story detailing how all of Mr. Wilson's stories intertwine around the Grand Unification Theory. Accompanying this fine book is a limited edition chapbook called Demonsong written by Mr. Wilson.

Unwillingly thrust into a world of a dangerous designer drug, Jack also finds himself confronting an old enemy from the recent past. Loaded with action, suspense, humor, and Jack's ever present dilemma of delicately maintaining a romantic relationship with a woman who disapproves of his "lifestyle", F. Paul Wilson has once again given us an excellent story loaded with thrills and serpentine plot lines. Rumor has it that there are at least two more Repairman Jack books coming in the near future. Hopefully, this is true. Highly recommended!

Summary: A Worthy Sequel to 'The Tomb'...
Review: I just finished 'All the Rage' and enjoyed it thoroughly. Jack is one of the most unique characters in modern literature, and his adventures are the sort that keeps you reading long into the night.

Jack is a poor man's James Bond who makes his living providing 'repair' work for people who need help, but can't go through standard law enforcement for it. Throughout the many Repairman Jack stories, the author has established Jack as someone who knows how to deal with natural and supernatural problems alike. In Jack's first book, The Tomb, he encountered a vengeful Bengali named Kusum with his army of unearthly creatures known as the Rakoshi. By the end of The Tomb, Jack thinks he's dealt with all of these creatures. But at the beginning of 'All the Rage', the reader sees that one has survived. The blood of this creature is being synthesized into a powerful street drug known as Berzerk. This drug grants a feeling of total euphoria, and also sends the user into fits of homicidal rage (thus the title).

Jack is hired by a young researcher because she sees her boss being bullied by a known underworld figure. She wants Jack to protect her boss, Dr. Monnet, from Dragovic, the head of a major criminal cartel. As the story unfolds, Jack connects Monnet and Dragovic as the creators and distributors of Berzerk, and also learns of the survival of the last Rakosh. His efforts to stop this drug ring, as well as deal with the last remaining Rakosh are immense fun to read.

For me, Jack's solutions are always the best part of the story, and in this one we see some of his most creative ones yet. The way he brings Dragovic and Monnet down is classic! And then later, his confrontation with the Rakosh is equally compelling. I honestly couldn't put it down.

But readers of this book should beware. This isn't simply a sequel to another book. All of the Repairman Jack stories are intimately tied into the larger "Adversary Cycle" written by F. Paul Wilson. In fact, a number of conversations and events referenced in this book wouldn't make sense unless you had also read 'Conspiracies' in addition to 'The Tomb'. And 'Conspiracies' only makes sense if you've read the rest of the Adversary Cycle. The primary books in this cycle are: The Keep, The Tomb, The Touch, Reborn, Reprisal, and Nightworld.

One final note to make...The Ozymandius Prather Oddity Emporium, taken from the pages of 'Freak Show' and authored by Thomas Monteleone and Steven Spruill, is one of the very best things about this book. I thought they fit very well into the overall story, and I got a real sense of the "Otherness" when reading about them.

If you've not read any Repairman Jack stories, don't start here. Start with The Tomb. But definitely keep reading until you get here. It's impossible to be disappointed by one of these novels.

Summary: Too Funny!
Review: I've been a Repairman Jack fan for a few years, and am delighted that each time I read one of his stories the character comes more alive. In this particular novel, F. Paul Wilson shows his sense of humor...not only in the dialogue but in the hilarious scenes he describes to us. I highly recommend readers to read The Tomb before this one, it will make some parts of the story easier to understand. If you can squeeze Conspiracies in too, I would suggest it, but it's more important to read The Tomb.

Summary: All The Rage is a Winner!
Review: I've read all the Repairman Jack stories so far. All The Rage is loads of fun, with lots of action. I highly recommend it.

FPW expertly weaves this story into his Grand Unification Theory. Dialogue is funnier than ever and Jack gets himself into more trouble than he's ever been.

The scenes involving a helicopter are hilarious. They reveal Jack's twisted (and brilliant) sense of humor.

The climax practically gave me a heart attack. But one of my favorite things about this book is that we see the character of Jack developing even more. He literally and figuratively goes BERZERK. It's frightening and fascinating to read that particular plot twist. Makes you wonder...

Demonsong, which comes with this special edition, is a terrific short story. Written in a different style, but still very intriguing. Makes me want to see more of Glaeken and Rasalom.

Thanks again FPW for a great read! I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Summary: Formulaic Repairman Jack
Review: If you have enjoyed the prior Jack books, you will enjoy this one a great deal. The scenes dealing with users under the influence of Loki are really interesting and scary. Jack gets revenge on his enemies in funny, interesting, and permanent ways that are very novel. The otherness creeps up again - we're not done with it by a long shot.

Summary: As Good As Ever
Review: Jack was hired by researcher Nadia to find out the relation between her boss, Dr Monnet and notorious Dragovic. While Nadia was convinced that Dr Monnet might be an unwilling partner to Dragovic's illegal activites, Jack was not so sure. When his investigation revealed a spectrum of activities beyond his expectations, it would need all of Jack's wit, courage and strength to survive this round.

As in all of Repairman Jack's stories, the author has a way of stringing together the supernatural and suspense together to make a wonderful story which can keep the reader glued to the book

Summary: Repairman Jack Is back and better than ever
Review: Repairman Jack remains a non-person in the databases of government agencies at all levels. There is no proof he exists except in an existential Aristotelian way. Though he loves Gia and treats her daughter as his own, Jack remains an enigma that even those close to him cannot comprehend. They all agree that Jack is a modern day Paladin hiring out for a fee to help those with no one else to turn to for assistance.

Research scientist Nadia Radminsky hires Jack to learn what connection exists between her boss at GEM Pharm and a Serbian John Gotti. At the same time, a rival criminal wants Jack to kill Milos Drgovic. Jack takes the case and quickly learns that Milos heads up GEM and the company is producing a designer drug that has a shelf life of twenty-eight days. When Jack traces the drug to its source, he realizes that he is once again dealing with otherworldly events.

Repairman Jack has had several brushes with the supernatural, but has proven he can handle himself against the forces of the dark, especially when the people he loves is threatened. Jack may not be a nice person, but he is efficient and effective, a benchmark for what he does. Jack remains colorful and weird as F. Paul Wilson has written an intriguing tale filled with unsuspecting twists and turns that makes this novel ALL THE RAGE.

Summary: Repairman Jack is back big time!
Review: Repairman Jack, Wilson's series character, returns to enact his special blend of vengeance and justice. Seems that there is a new drug, called Berzerk, that makes the user's strength and violence soar. The source of this new drug is an old enemy of Jack's past. The holder of this source is the basis for Wilson's edited HWA-sponsored anthology, FREAK SHOW.

Wilson's strength is not letting Jack do the same old thing time and again. Jack is evolving and realizing his place in his battle versus the Otherness, the ultimate evil in this world. Jack is asked by 2 people to check out a Bosnian gangster, one a researcher for a pharmaceutical company, the other a regular guy looking for vengeance. Both characters add local color and a unique outside experience of Jack and his methods.

Repairman Jack's hijinks to get under the skin of the gangster are the highlights here, as they are in all of the linked books. Wilson's imagination is used full force here....as elaborate as dropping tires and oil onto a houseful of party guests, to something simple like disabling a surveilance car.

Wilson's blending -in of his other novels and stories is masterful. You see characters and hints from his previous works to make a complete history. A great novel in a continuing series.

This edition also includes, at the end, an interview with Mr. Wilson that is informative. The artwork, by Harry O. Morris, is not the usual sketches but a kind of J.K. Potter meshing of images...very effective. Highly Recommended.
