Summary: It ain't "Gone With The Wind" !!!
Review: Amasing ! Just the way that Greg Ilse manages to make you beileve that what you just read, is true, is worth a second read. I haven't been dissapointed yet by anything that Greg Iles has written...and I doubt that that will ever happen ! "The Quiet Game" is a locomotive that starts calm and slowly...then in the end, rams you with full force.

Summary: a beautifully written legal thriller
Review: As a lover of mysteries, and very tired of legal works a la John Grisham, I was very skeptical about this book. However, I can only say that this book is absolutely fantastic! Not only is the plot thoughtful and exciting, but the writing is lyrical and beautifully descriptive. A five- star read that I recommend to everyone. I can't wait to read the other books by this author.

Summary: Can you spell f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c? I thought you could!
Review: Greg Iles has indeed done it again. Following in the tradition of his other books, this one has a little bit of everything that will keep you up reading long after your bedtime! His flair for language and storytelling are at their best. Iles is one of those writers whom you wait for with great expectation to see what he will produce next!

Summary: This is a superb book
Review: The best effort yet from this talented young author. Greg Iles is the pride of Mississippi, and this book shows it. The description of Natchez (Mr. Iles home) is dead on the money, and the recreation of the Southern style is flawless. My greatest praise is that he is able to grapple with the nature of past (and present) racial tensions in the South, while offering meaningful and new insights. All within the covers of a "page burning" mystery.

Summary: DISAPPOINTING
Review: I HAVE READ AND THOROUGHLY ENJOYED EVERY BOOK WRITTEN BY THIS AUTHOR. THEY ARE ALL WELL RESEARCHED AND WRITTEN. HOWEVER, AS A MISSISSIPPIAN, IM A LITLLE BORED WITH "A TIME TO KILL" TYPE BOOKS. THE HISTORICAL INFORMATION ON NATCHEZ WAS WONDERFUL, BUT I JUST COULDNT GET INTO THE BOOK. I HAD A "BEEN THERE, DONE THAT" ATTITUDE WHEN I READ THE BOOK. IT WAS JUST ANOTHER BOOK ON CIVIL RIGHTS IN MS. I REFUSE TO GIVE UP ON GREG, THOUGH. HIS OTHER BOOKS ARE SOME OF THE BEST BOOKS I'VE EVER READ.

Summary: A Wild Ride!!
Review: Greg Iles has done it again! If you like heady suspense along with an outstanding plot, you've got to read this book. Iles is fabulous at hooking the reader quickly and keeping him entrenched throughout the book. This, along with his previous 5 star "Mortal Fear", are counted among my favorite reads. My only wish is that Iles could publish his magic as quickly as Stephen King!!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: It's time for you to discover Greg Iles
Review: What a great read! Iles should really bust out with this one (though I thought he should've busted out with his first book). They're all great thrillers and The Quiet Game may be the best. Get it. read it.

Summary: The maestro at his best
Review: Former Houston prosecutor Penn Cage mourns the death of his wife. Needing solace Penn and his four-year old daughter return to his hometown of Natchez, Mississippi. Though two decades have passed, Penn expects peace and support from his family members.

However, instead of domestic tranquillity, Penn realizes that someone is blackmailing his beloved father. Penn believes his dad is a paragon who is being abused by an assailant over a deadly mistake he made years ago. Soon Penn and newspaper publisher Caitlin Masters finds a link to an unsolved killing of an African-American over thirty years ago. As they begin to uncover the truth, several individuals put pressure on Penn to drop his inquiry, but he just cannot let it go.

THE QUIET GAME is a superb legal-conspiracy thriller that brings the deep South to life. The story line is crisp, well written, and filled with plenty of non-stop action. Penn feels very human as he seeks honesty, justice and truth yet is willing to destroy evidence that can hurt a loved one. New York Times best-selling author Greg Iles has written an enthralling tale that will give much delectation to sub-genre fans.

Summary: Couldn't put it down!
Review: This book grabs you on page one. It's a great read, giving a true picture of the South today- the good, the bad, & the ugly, but ultimately the positives of the New South. Excellent writing- some passages reminiscent of Conroy. Earlier books to catch are "Mortal Fear" ('net serial killer), "Black Cross" and "Spandau Phoenix," the last two have WWII themes. All are wonderful thrillers.
