Summary: It may be murder, but it's a hoot!
Review: It's murder mystery subgenre romantic suspense, but forget all the categories. It's just a hoot! It has the war been the sexes, the guerrilla warefare between corporate management and employees, the conflict between the media and those [un]fortunate enough to be caught in their fifteen minutes of fame --as well as a serial murderer and the victims caught in the cat-and-mouse attentions of a twisted personality. I laughed so hard while reading this my upstairs neighbor pounded on the floor to object. When I finished, I lent it to my next door neighbor & she refused to give it back! If she wasn't 80, I'd have mugged her for it. Instead I bought two more copies --one to keep pristine on my "collectibles" shelf and one to read -- not to lend, I learned MY LESSON on that. Buy it. You won't regret it.

Summary: I'm Throwing In The Towel On Linda Howard!
Review: This was my 4th Linda Howard novel, which also includes:"Now You See Her", "Dream Man" and "After The Night". Out of the four, I've only really liked "After The Night", which was written the furthest back in time when Howard was considered more of a romance writer and less of a mystery writer. I still consider her "less of a mystery writer"! I guessed who the murderer was within the first 50 pages, despite the red herrings Howard threw in to throw me off track. The other problem is that her hero is, for all intents and purposes, the exact same man in all four books of hers I've read. He is your super strong, protective, sexy alpha male-wolf, who quickly discerns that the heroine is the love of his life. This time he is a cop, which he also was in "Dream Man". In the other two books I mentioned he was Howard's "typical" ultra rich entrepreneur. I'm glad I read the library's copy and didn't spend my own money on this hardback novel, which doesn't have a fresh or original moment within its pages.

Summary: Wait for Paperback
Review: As a die hard Linda Howard fan, I could not wait for this book. It did not quite live up to expectations. If this was another author I would have loved it, but it did not quite make it worth buying the hardback. I have already traded it in to the used book store. I did not feel that we really ever got to know the characters. It all happened way too fast and was entirely to predictable. You have the murderer picked out in the first chapter. You can even guess the order that they are going to die in. It is a good read, but I would wait for a library copy. It is not one of her keepers. There were some funny scenes, but I think after reading other reviews that I expected them to be more.

Summary: Linda Howard writes another 'Perfect' book!
Review: I absolutely love Linda Howard's older books, but her more recent novels are even more wonderful and show a fabulous imagination with a modern viewpoint that we all recognise. As usual, I couldn't put it down until I finished it. Sam is a wonderful hero, perfect for Jaine, but the 'Ladies of the List' were also quite a treat. Personally, BooBoo reminded me of someone very close to me and I could laugh at 'his' displeasure of being passed around, thank goodness my Mom does as well! I will continue to look forward to her next release with bated breath!!!

Summary: She's back and she's better than ever!
Review: One thing Howard fans can never complain about is that their favorite author is getting complacent. It seems that every few books or so, Ms. Howard gets restless with constraints and "pushes the envelope" in her genre. Other reviewers here seem to be a little offended and shocked by this latest push, but this reader found it to be a refreshing blast of humor and bawdiness, with conversations that mimicked what most modern day couples THINK, if they don't actually say it out loud. She drops the f*-bomb a few times, but most of her readers are not shrinking violets, and the conversations have an authentic feel to them.

Most striking about this story is the authentic feel to it. We are all being bombarded with "romantic suspense" these days, but this story is different because Howard creates very real, gritty, strong female characters with flaws and weaknesses, and we learn to love them throughout the story, warts and all. When some of these characters become the VICTIMS, the effect is jolting, and the reader feels the same grief as the surviving characters.

Even with the new grittiness, the elements we all seek and love in Howard novels are still preserved in this one. The alpha-male, Sam, the pithy heroine, Jaine, the incendiary sex-scenes. All are present and accounted for.

She did a great job with this story, and I loved it!

Summary: What A Hoot!!
Review: This has to be one of Linda Howards all time best books. I have to tell you that I laughed out loud during parts of this book. She made the characters all too real!! If you like romance combined with a good story line and a little suspense, you will love this book. I highly recommend it!!

Summary: Almost Perfect!!
Review: Jaine Bright has lived in her new home for two weeks and considers her next door neighbor the blight of the neighborhood. So she refers to him as "the Jerk". She thinks he is a surly, nasty drunk and sparks fly when they encounter each other. So she thinks of his attitude when she and three of her friends put together a list of requirements for " Mr. Perfect". Jaine and her friends meet every Friday at Ernie's, a local restaurant, for dinner. After a long and difficult work week, the friends kick back and discuss their imperfect love lives. As the conversation picks up Marci writes down the list of requirements. An act that will come back to haunt them. Thinking no harm will come of an innocent funny list, Marci shows the list to a co-worker and on Monday morning, "the list", as it becomes known, is printed in the workplace newsletter. It spreads like wildfire throughout their company and shows up on the Internet. It is picked up by local newspapers and eventually the national news. What's starts out as an innocent joke turns deadly when one of the friends is murdered. Jaine turns to her "jerk" neighbor for help. Turns out "the jerk" is a police detective named Sam Donovan. I was delighted that for this book, Linda has returned to the style of writing that made her so popular. This romantic suspense has enough romance to keep readers of the genre interested. Sam Donovan and Jaine Bright are two of Linda's most likeable characters. Sam is brash, cocky, arrogant, smart, sexy, sweet and not too shy!! Jaine is gutsy, intelligent, cute, and a smart mouth with a great sense of humor. Oh, and desperate to stop cussing!! The sparks fly between these two and their dialogue is often very sexy. Linda has added a new element to her writing and it is humor, which works well in this story. Now my reason for the four star rating--I was disappointed with the love scenes. I have come to expect very sexy, sensual and erotic love scenes from Linda but they were not to be found in this book. I felt the few scenes she did include in her story were too rushed and not of the classic standard as in past books. But that aside, I found this book well worth the hardcover price and definitely a keeper.

Summary: Mr. Perfect is perfectly fine....
Review: I liked the adult tone of this romantic supspense. The dialogue, tone and sexual encounters were grittier than you find in most romantic suspense. If you are the hearts and flowers type this may not be for you but if you like steamy and no-holds barred sex this was a great read. Ree-views

Summary: The best ever
Review: I have read everything Linda Howard and this is the best ever!! It's funny, sexy and a little sad. But you won't want it to end.
