Summary: This is an enjoyable read, but not her best
Review: The only reason I haven't given "Mr. Perfect" five stars is because I felt something lacking in the character development. Not only was the lacking apparent to me between the two main characters, but the secondary characters didn't seem to be as fleshed out as they could have been. Also, it was really hard for me to believe that right after Sam and Jaine hop into bed, Sam asks her to marry him. The sexual tension between them was great at the beginning, but this particular angle kind of threw in a wet towel for me tension-wise. I found it too hard to believe. Even Jaine comments that she can't believe things are moving so fast.

However, the humor in the story had me giggling out loud on several occasions. Jaine has a sharp tongue and a quick wit and she says what she thinks. She is a strong heroine, and it shows. I like the heroines to be strong women, not some meak little weakling cowering in the corner. Her sharp tongue does fit nicely with Sam and some of their exchanges are pretty dang funny. This seems to be something new for Linda Howard, as I don't remember her other contemporary suspense novels being as humorous as this one. I like the humor - I think it works. And, Jaine likes big, red trucks. When she mentioned the truck thing, I couldn't help grinning from ear to ear, me being a Chevy truck drivin' kind of girl.

The suspense was great and this was a great page-turner. I liked the premise of the story and found the characters for the most part to be believable. I truly did enjoy this novel. I just wanted Sam and Jaine's relationship to be worked out a bit more - it just wasn't believable to me. I liked where Linda Howard was going with her characters, I just feel she could have spent a little bit more time working out their relationships.

Summary: Very good, but...
Review: this is not Linda Howard at her best. It's a cute book and better than her last several hardbacks, but this is not up to par with her earlier books.

Summary: Funny and suspenseful!
Review: This book was by far one of Mrs. Howard's best endeavors. Her witty style and comic characters kept the story fast-paced and exciting. The complexities of the plot pulled me in and kept me reading until I finished and left me marveling at the ending. Mrs. Howard's style of writing in this book made it one of the best I've ever had the pleasure to read. This story is about four friends who come up with a list of what makes the perfect man. Although it started out as a joke, the list quickly made it's way into the news. Unfortunately, a man who is not so perfect takes exception and murders two of the friends, and one of the friends, Jaine, enlists the help of her policeman neighbor, Sam. As the plot unfolds, the two fall in love, but can Sam prevent the killer from ruining that love?

Summary: I could not put this book down!
Review: This story was very entertaining. I really enjoyed the heroine and the hero.... The book has amusing dialog and the way the story is laid out it great. I did not guess 'who done it' until close to the end... I would definitely recommend this book.

Summary: Less than "Perfect"
Review: I was very disappointed in this book. The storyline was, at best, weak, and the characters flat. Buying this book in hardcover is a waste of money.

Summary: OH my aching sides
Review: After the first chapter I had to get up and get a box of tissues. I think I pulled a muscle laughing so hard. I can relate to Janine, I don't know how many times my husband hasn't had me half scared out of my skin and like Sam it was never on purpose. It was a good mystery, which maybe we all figured out quickly, but I still got attached to the four list makers. Sometimes the tissues didn't just wipe away the mirth. As usual thank you Linda for some hours of great enjoyment. PLEASE KEEP IT UP!!!

Summary: Perfection!
Review: Linda Howard has always been a very special writer to me - managing to balance both romance and mystery. The only other writers I know who do as well are Nora Roberts and Mary Balogh - different, but excellent.

This has got to be one of Linda Howard's best books - with her customary fast, funny wit - and chills combined.

And hot! Wow is this hot! Sam should live next door to me - PLEASE! This guy is...well just about perfect. Not only does he apparently fulfill most of their criteria - he does a good job with mine! Didn't even get a glimpse or hint of the killer (although I did guess the page before his identity is revealed). No red herrings - no leading you on a chase in the totally wrong direction, and no blatant violence or psychobabble thank you. Linda Howard ranks right up there with fictions best authors. Long may you write!

Summary: Mr. Perfect a good read
Review: My favorite of Linda Howard's books is DREAM MAN, and Mr. Perfect is not as good, but I loved the characters in the book. First of all, in the first 170 pages, I felt I was listening to an episode of SEX AND THE CITY. I loved the repartee between the 4 female characters, especially the use of "gild" and "geld". I would recommend this book to anyone who loves romantic mysteries and some good laughs.

Summary: Mr. Perfect.
Review: TOPS!

Well worth the price of a movie ticket, or two, or three. Although the villain was fairly easy to spot, the humor of the story held me captive...not to mention the chemistry between the two main characters. What a couple: Jaine (Janine) and Sam! This is what entertaining and enjoyable fiction is all about. BRAVO, Ms. Howard and thanks for a great read. Can't wait for your next one.

Summary: Jaine is my kind of woman
Review: Thank you Linda Howard for writing about a woman who is just as strong and cocky (no pun intended) as the hero. Although I have enjoyed all of Ms Howard's books; her recent heroines have not appealed to me much: they've been way too limp and passive for my tastes. Her heroes are very strong and I really like to see the woman they fall for "deserve" them.
