Summary: mr. perfect
Review: Possibly the most ridiculous book ever written. I couldn't even finish it. Pathetic dialouge--to call it "snappy" is a stretch. Totally predictable; the only thing that had me laughing was the reviews of this book. To call this book good writing is another very clear example of the pathetic education system in the U.S.A.

Summary: A Fun, Fast Read
Review: Jaine Bright and three of the women she works with meet every Friday after work for a glass of wine, a little dinner and a lot of talking. Tonight the conversation zeros in on their problems with men and the four soon find themselves making a list of the attributes they'd want in the perfect man. He needs to be faithful, nice, dependable, have a steady job and a sense of humor. But soon the list continues on to great in bed and then to more X-rated items. All in good fun among four good friends. That is until somebody gets hold of it and sends out a company newsletter titled Mr Perfect. From there everything snowballs, The List moves on to news articles and television segments and takes on a life of its own. Women love it, men think it's sexist and offensive and Jaine Bright and her friends just thought it was a private joke. That is, until one of the four is murdered. Now the three remaining friends are afraid for their lives and the police are wondering if The List incited the killer. Linda Howard has written a witty, sexy, fast paced mystery that will keep you turning pages to the very end. Her writing is down to earth and irreverent with vivid scenes, that at times will have you laughing out loud. This is a book that has it all...good, tight story, fun characters you can relate to, romance, suspense and a mystery that will keep you guessing to the very end. A great book to take on vacation or to the beach.

Summary: SHE DOES IT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!
Review: I LOVED THIS BOOK. I STARTED THIS BOOK ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND DID NOT PUT IT DOWN UNTIL I FINISHED IT. THE CHARACTERS OF SAM AND JANINE WERE GREAT. I LAUGHED AND WAS SAD TOO. I BELIEVE THIS IS DEFINITELY ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS BY LINDA HOWARD YET.

Summary: Linda Howard tops herself!
Review: As a huge fan of Linda Howard, I must say that I was skeptical when I heard there was a new hardback being released. After being a mite disappointed with Kill & Tell and All the Queen's Men, I was content to wait for A Gme of Chance. I knew that she could not go wrong with the McKenzie's. I LOVED Chance's book; which is great after waiting so long for it. I decided to give Mr. Perfect a chance. I am SO glad that I did.

Linda Howard is known for the off the chart sensuality she puts into her books, as well as the strength of her characters. This book surpassed even her normal level of performance. This is the FUNNIEST book I have read in a long time. If you like sarcasm and verbal sparring you will thoroughly enjoy the battle of wills between Sam & Jaine. Seeing these two go head to head had me laughing out loud several times.

The language of the book is incredibly real and contemporary. Howard dares to let her characters think and say things that we have thought, said, and heard from our partners in real life. Sam and Jaine confront each other and issues in the bold, upfront manner that often marks Howard's style.

This book is a keeper and I hope that there are more books to come.

Summary: perfect! perfect! perfect!
Review: Linda Howard has done it again. I loved this book. It is very, very funny. The murderer is fairly easy to figure out,but the wit and sexual byplay between Sam and Jaine is perfect! I never loan out my hardcover books to my friends but this one has been passed around to all. If you never buy hardcover books, buy this one it is perfect!

Summary: Laugh Out Loud Funny!
Review: I love a book that makes me laugh out loud and this one definitely qualifies. The verbal volley of words between neighbors Detective Sam Donovan and everygirl Jaine Bright was delightful, witty, and sexy! From their first explosive encounter to their final scene, Sam and Jaine are HOT! Through her life Jaine has never found anyone to keep pace with her quick mind, sharp tongue, or understand her love of muscle cars. Not even her three ex-fiances! In Sam she finds it all including passion and love. Jaine and her three friends make a tongue-in-cheek list itemizing what it takes to be their idea of "Mr. Perfect". The list finds it's way into the company newsletter, then the local news, and snowballs from there until the list generates more publicity than the ladies want. What started out as harmless, silly "girl" humor quickly turns deadly as one man takes exception to the ladies publicizing his imperfection. Sam is on the case and hot on Jaine's heels. What a neighbor! If you like your romances to have spice, suspense, steam, and wicked humor then "Mr. Perfect" is a book for you!

Summary: Boring - high school romance level
Review: The first time I tried Linda Howard - never again. Amateurish writing - can't believe anyone reviewed this book as a 4 star.

Summary: Great Read
Review: This is the first Linda Howard book I have ever read, and I must say I enjoyed every minute of it. I simply could not put the book down and now I am very disappointed that I have finished it. I can hardly wait to run out to the store and buy a couple more of her books.

In Mr. Perfect, you get a good mix of mystery thriller, romance and comedy. While you can pretty much figure out who the killer is before the end, you dont get bored with the book, there is so much still going on and the chemistry between Sam and Jaine will keep you reading.

Great book, I would recommend it to all my friends.

Summary: Jennifer from Madison, Al.
Review: I really enjoyed this latest book by Linda Howard. It kept my attention and the ending was a twist to find out that Leah was really Corin. I knew in the beginning that Corin would be the killer, but this twist of her being raised as a boy was a surprise. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: It's books like this that make reading worth my time!
Review: If I could, I would give it 10 stars. No, wait, more than that. But then, things might get a little out of hand at Amazon.com. This has got to be THE best romance thriller I read this year. It was so entertaining, I was squealing, giggling, snickering and laughing out loud by myself! I was in love by the time Sam Donavan in natural glory walked into Jaine's kitchen view and fell even deeper for him then on! Sam is modern day Mr. Darcy... just much more brawnier and tougher... and more confident, arrogant and much more sexy! Of course, he does wear a police badge and tote a mean looking gun. And this one sexy detective met his match with Jaine Bright... his neighbor who just moved next door to him. A spunky and intelligent woman who is trying to cut down on using fowl language! Who loves powerful cars and speed as much as Jeff Gordon does. A modern Elizabeth Bennet, maybe? Definitely a woman who can hold her own! I love this heroine! I also adored all the secondary women featured in the story. Sam & Jaine create enough electricity and energy to power up a nuclear power plant... and as a result they burn up the pages! Their verbal exchanges are funny and witty and I loved every converation between them.

Of course, there is a serial killer after Jaine and her three friends... because of their list of requirements for a Mr. Perfect. What started out as harmless fun is getting Jaine's friends killed! I also enjoyed this thriller portion of the plot, it added plenty of excitement and suspense! Linda Howard knows how to mix enough of romance and suspense to keep the story moving! This is one of those books I could read over and over again and at 3 AM!
