Summary: Far From Perfect!
Review: Linda Howards new book "Mr Perfect" is far from it. Is this a mystery? A romance? Human interest or Drama? It's really hard to tell because it doesn't seem to work on any of these levels! I'll skip a synopsis (you can read previous reviews for that) and get right to the heart of the novel's flaws. I'll try not to give away the ending :-)

One, it is obvious from the first ten pages, who the killer is. Ms Howard leaves no other suspects and too many cues for the reader NOT to figure this out.

Now,(2) this was no cat n' mouse type of novel where half the fun is waiting too see just how/when the murderer will be caught. Indeed the novel begins with our protaginist living next door to mr super cop!

3. It is also crystal clear in which order the women will be attacked and who will die.

4. All the "situations" were so contrived, uninspired and unimaginative. The book rates 1 star solely on it's premise, but as a whole fails miserably!

Summary: Mr. Perfect--A disappointment
Review: I am a avid fan of Linda Howard. I believe I have read just about all her books. She is a wonderful story teller and the flow of her narrative makes for a fast paced read. However with this said , I was disappointed in this book. The story line was very thin. Within the first hundred I had the killer. Additionally it is never wise to use the dialogue alone to advance the story line and that,s what this book does. I know this is a new genre for her but All The Queens Men and Kill and Tell were also thin in s tory. We want richer and more complex characters and story lines

Summary: Mr. Perfect
Review: Linda Howard has scored another success.Although I feel that her earlier books are some of her best, this one had the elements of humor, romance and mystery that I have come to associate with Linda Howard. The tension between the hero and heroine is great, and I love the humor (especially when Jaine sees Sam in through the window and can't keep her eyes from every inch of him). Corin/Leah was a great switch because there aren't that many female serial killers. Linda Howard, please keep up the good work--you have a lot of loyal fans!

Summary: Another Great Story from Linda....
Review: I seriously enjoyed this book from LH. I rarely laugh out loud while reading a book but this one caught me by surprise. The interaction between Sam and Jaine is hilarious, sexy, and passionate. There are a couple of scenes in the book involving Jaine's Dodge Viper and Sam's metal trashcan that are great!---I have friends remind me of these two with their smartmouth remarks and witty verbal exchanges!!

Jaine moves into a quiet neighborhood. She has a normal job and a normal life. She and 3 other friends gather weekly at Ernie's for happy hour and dinner. In one night of intoxication, these 4 women create a list of characteristics that make up the Perfect Man. This list creates lots of attention and commentary. THE LIST leads these 4 women into trouble with coworkers, friends and family, including a stalker...it also leads Jaine into meeting Sam (her grubby nextdoor neighbor who she initially thinks is a drunken reprobate -- not an undercover cop)...the witty exchanges and steamy sex kept me glued to this book.

Jaine is a very strong female character and I'm glad to see the heroine isn't some swooning wimp! I like Linda's style of characters -- I happen to like Alpha Wolf Males -- I wouldn't read romance novels if I wanted to read about a wimpy nerd...

The book has some suspense and granted it wasn't really tough to figure out the mystery, but please read the book for its quirky humor and character interaction!!!! You will like it! It's definitely another winner from Ms. Howard.

Summary: Back in the saddle for Linda Howard
Review: This was a much improved version of the new Linda Howard. I suppose I use the phrase new since she has changed her style quite a bit from the style she used in "After the Night", "Shades of Twilight," and others. I was very disappointed in the last book, "All the Queens Men." This is a reluctant return to the style she made famous in her other books, but it is a very good read for the summer. The hero and heroine are much more beliveable as characters. The hero reminded me of the hero in "Dream Man." Although, he was not as easy to like as the hero in "Dream Man."

I will continue to hold out hope that eventually she will write another book like "After the Night." To date that has been her best book for me. I own every book she's ever had published. Some are the original paperbacks. At least this time I did not feel as if I had wasted $25. as I did when I finished reading "All the Queen's Men." I still don't understand that title.

Summary: I'm a slow reader and I finished this in one day.
Review: I have never read Linda Howard. I was glad that I decided to try this book. It was very fast paced and fun. I liked Jaine's personality. The murderer was somewhat predictable however. There were not a lot of choices to pick from.

Summary: Mr. Perfect
Review: I did like this book better than her two previous releases. I thought Sam was a great guy and I loved the tension between the two of the characters. I would have liked to see their relationship explored more. Even if the ending was pretty predictable, I liked the premise of the story line.

I am waiting for a good western setting in furture stories, with lots of loving, caring relationships discovered.

Keep up the good work Linda, I actually enjoy your books over Sandra Browns.

Summary: Delightful
Review: This book was very entertaining. I, and several of my friends, found ourselves laughing out loud at the dialogue, at the idea, and could not figure out "who-dun-it" until the very end.

Summary: Howard is PERFECT!
Review: Ms Howard is perfect in her latest hard back book "Mr Perfect." I laughed out loud several times because of the witty dialogue among the friends. The honest emotion and relationship ties expressed were faithful to real life. This is a keeper for me.
