Rating: Summary: Nearly Perfect! Review: I bought this when it was first released, though I don't normally buy hardbacks, and I don't regret it for a second. I've already reread Mr. Perfect several times. Since I went through it so fast the first time, the rereads let me pick on more clues and details. The characters have life, the dialog is witty, the sex is sizzling, the suspense is breath-holding. You laugh, cry, cringe and sigh. One of Ms. Howard's best, along with "Now You See Her", "Kill and Tell" and "Dream Man". The perfect blend of suspense and sensuality.
Rating: Summary: a fun read, but not linda howard's best Review: my star rating is really a 3.5, almost a 4. I am a big linda howard fan, and this book has her usual likable chracters, fast paced, witty dialog, and suspensful story. But the story had weak emotional development. sam and jaine are washing the car, they have sex, jaine's friends are being murdered and all of a sudden they are getting married. Whoa, where did that come from. but aside from that, a great read, but definitely wait for the paper back.
Rating: Summary: It was PERFECT! Review: I could not put the book down! This was a great book and Linda Howard totally redeems herself after "All the Queen's Men". This book had it all - mystery, romance, and hot sex. I loved the plot, and the ending was totally unexpected! I can't wait for her next book, and I hope that she continues writing them this way instead of just dark mystery like "All the Queen's Men"
Rating: Summary: The characters make this story a keeper. Review: Although the basic premise is hard to swallow, the story flows well once you accept that making a list of qualities for "Mr Perfect" could get you on Good Morning, America. It's Jaine and Sam that make the story-- the characters have witty dialogue, sparkling attraction and real-life characteristics. This book is worth the hard-cover price if for nothing but the hero-heroine interaction.
Rating: Summary: A man to die for Review: After four friends get together for lunch and talk about the men in their lives, they playfully make a list of what they think should be the perfect man. The list is leaked out, emailed around the office and makes the news. Not everyone is pleased with the list and then one of them is murdered. The main character Jaine, is more worried than the others, since she has had the most negative responses to the list. After Jaine's house is ransacked, Sam, Jaine's next door neighbor who is attracted to her appoints himself her personal bodyguard while they seek to find who is trying to kill the women of the list. This book is a definite keeper. It will grab you from the first page and not let you go until the mystery is solved..an ending you will neither expect or forget. It will keep you holding your breath until the end.
Rating: Summary: Great Read Review: I thought this was a great book. I did figure out who the killer was before the end, but still enjoyed reading the climax. This is definitely more of a "hot and heavy" romance then a "candy and flowers". I enjoyed this as many authors are not as good at this as Linda Howard. I sat back and enjoyed the ride. It was fun and entertaining. Many others who wrote reviews thought the romance happened too fast, that they hated each other. I agree with the addage that there is a fine line between love and hate. Besides, most romance novels are improbable. If you are looking for an escape, this may be it. Don't over analize.... just enjoy the fantasy!
Rating: Summary: Mr. Perfect Review: Good page turner, but takes too long to get the first murder. I liked the love story, but it was a bit much. Good twist at the end.
Rating: Summary: Predictable, but excellent nonetheless Review: This is my first Linda Howard novel and I was plesantly surprised. The book is a very quick read and keeps you hanging on nonstop, even though I figured out who the killer was long before it was revealed. I loved the banter between Jaine and Sam as well as their sexual tension. These two are really HOT!! I look forward to reading more from Linda Howard.
Rating: Summary: This book is great! Review: This book is a very entertaining novel of humor, romance, and suspense. The characters all seem very real, and its easy to identify with them. Jaine is a great heroine- very smart and funny. Sam is H-O-T HOT!!!!! The kitchen scene is one of the best in the whole book. I recommend reading the book just for that scene, lol. Seriously, though, Sam and Jaine's romance moves very quickly from them despising each other to marriage. I found it a little hard to believe that they were in love so soon, but I'd find it hard not to fall in love with a guy like Sam. Read this book if for no reason but to get to know Sam Donovan, I promise you won't be sorry.
Rating: Summary: Great fun! Review: Okay, I had a little trouble with the basic premise. I mean, "The List" itself wasn't unique or insightful enough to garner all the attention it received. But once I got over that hurdle, I had a great time with this story. The dialog was delightful, the suspense really built and the romance was provocative. If you're a fan of the thriller genre, you'll enjoy this one.
