Rating: Summary: Totally Irresistible! Review: This is a great book! There is so much going on that I was so eager to read the next page! I couldn't put the book down, it was so funny and absorbing. Jaine Bright and Sam Donovan are the perfect couple. She doesn't mind giving him hell when he deserves it, and he knows when to back down and when to fight, like when it comes to her safety. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Keep it coming!
Rating: Summary: This was a good book! Review: I wouldn't categorize this book as a page turner. I did finish it in like a day and a half. I guess I would call it predicatble. This is the first time I've read a book by this author. I wish she had not focused so much on the love story between Jaine and her next door neighbor. I was more interested in the killing plot. I liked it but I'm glad I waited for the paperback to come out! I would never pay more than $10.00 for this book.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely the best Review: I have read most of this author's books before, and I have to say, this was the best. The plot, the suspense, the storyline, the humor, the romance--all of it was well-written and perfectly balanced. I found myself laughing through part of the book, then biting my fingers through the rest of it. Ms. Howard does a superb job of forming her characters with their own quirky personalities and vocabulary-Jaine was hilarious! I gave this book to a friend at work and now all we do is trade "Jaine-isms". A must-read for anyone who likes a great romance thrown in with a great suspense-I recommend it highly!
Rating: Summary: Page Turner Review: This book is wonderful. Ms. Howard has done it again. I have read a lot of her books and I have to say they are all wonderful, but this book has something different from her other books, it's extremely funny. This book is also a page turner. I fineshed all four hundred and plus pages in one day, I couldn't put the book down. I strongly recommend this book, I think it's one of her best book yet.A MUST BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Another Winner Review: I buy anythig she writes the minute it hits the stands! And NOTHING gets in my way! Once again Howard hits with a winner. The Heroine is hilarious, her friends are fun, the hero, well he gets a thumbs up. I was a little disapointed with "Come Lie with Me" & "Tears of a Renegade" They were to emotional, sad, they were missing something, with this one I was disapointed when it was over, I missed the characters, Her research evident, Character reactions believable, Howard wrote a winner here. If you plan to read this book, or have read it, try out "Dream Man", "All the Queens Men", "Now You See Her" I think you'll be well pleased! Wowser
Rating: Summary: I'm embarrassed to own this book Review: I am astonished at the rave reviews this horrible book received. The premise was weak from the start, but I thought that this would be some fun 'brain candy'. I was wrong. The characters are depthless cliches and the humor is entirely contrived. I found not one glimmer of originality. It's driving me crazy that I can't give this book less than one star. I am looking forward to using this book for kindling this fall. DON'T BUY IT.
Rating: Summary: Want to Read a Good Book? Review: I wait patiently for Linda Howard's books. This one was great. Funny, sexy and enjoyable to read. Wish it didn't end so soon. Why can't some of the good writers like Linda Howard, who have been around awhile write more books like this? It seems they have stopped. Great Summer Reading. Try it, you'll like it.
Rating: Summary: Terrific Suspenseful Read Review: Jaine Bright and her three friends were enjoying themselves at their favorite restaurant where they met every Friday when they jokingly came up with The List, a list of attributes they wanted in Mr. Perfect. Marci scribbled The List down on a notepad for future reference. Little did they dream that when a co-worker asked Marci for The List, Dawna would publish it in the company newsletter and later on-line. Things begin to get complicated when The List gets national attention, and the news media contact the four friends. Additionally, some men at Hammerstead Technology, where all four friends work, seem bent out of shape about some of the items on The List. Though all the attention is a bother for the friends to deal with, they don't get concerned until all start receiving crank phone calls, and one of the four friends winds up dead. Jaine is forced to turn to her neighbor, Sam, a detective she has sparred with on several occasions. While Jaine previously disliked Sam, she suddenly sees him in a whole new light, and neither can deny the physical attraction between them. Linda Howard has written an intensely satisfying thriller. Sam and Jaine are wonderful, as their verbal exchanges can't be beat, and their love scenes sizzle. This is a definite page-turner, impossible to put down as the reader yearns to discover the identity of the murderer, and whether or not he will kill again. For a wonderful summer read, MR. PERFECT can't be beat.
Rating: Summary: Boring in the beginning Review: I bought this book because I read a part of it in the Cosmopolitan magazine, it was a real page turner but the romantic part was too quick and the fact that the hero and heroine kept having sex, even after her friends died was a bit strange. But I really loved Sam & Jaine.
Rating: Summary: A Fun Read! Review: OK, so this is not the Book of Life..but it was great fun to read. The sexual banter (down and dirty)between Sam and Jaine was very funny and not mean spirited. You will laugh out loud. The 4 friends were great and the mystery was easy to solve. Believe me, we would all like a neighbor like Sam!
