Summary: Hilarity & Suspense
Review: I am an avid reader and just recently discovered Ms. Howard. I absolutely loved Mr. Perfect! My family gave me crazy looks because I would just burst out laughing! Jaine is a wonderful character. It was so refreshing to have an author pull me completely into a story. I am looking forward to reading many more Linda Howard stories.

Summary: Weak Premise
Review: I did enjoy this book (as I've enjoyed all LH books), but it was a quick afternoon read with a very weak premise.

The plot of "Mr. Perfect" surrounds a silly, lighthearted list 4 friends have written outling the attributes of a perfect mate. Cute, but the ensuing outfall is unbelievable. First of all, it's unbelievable that such a list would ever receive national media attention. Also, the lists authors' families/boyfriends/husbands completely overreact to the list. Any intelligent person would realize what a joke the list is and act accordingly. In this book, boyfriends break up with their girlfriends, sisters say they can't show their face in public and a divorce is almost caused - over a pretty lame list. Give me a break.

The book was a good light read, but I'm hoping LH returns to the deeper stories I fell in love with (After the Night, Son of the Morning) soon.

Summary: Unbelieveably Stupid!
Review: Linda Howard used to be one of my favorite authors. I loved "Heart of Fire" and "Son of the Morning." But this story is a total failure. The premise is totally ridiculous. No silly list like the one the women make up would ever make it to the national or local news, and any media organization that used these women's names without their permission would get the ... sued out of them. Furthermore, the "List" itself isn't very controversial or even very funny. I've seen much funnier "Mr. Perfect" lists circulated on the Internet, written by people who aren't NY Times bestselling authors like Linda Howard.

Here is my list for "Perfect Novel":

1. Grabs your attention on the very first page (this book doesn't) 2. Gets into the hero's POV as well as the heroine. 3. Is accurate and realistic in its portrayal of the characters' environment (Ms. Howard knows zilch about corporate life in Motown.) 5. Even if the plot isn't realistic, the author makes you believe it is (no way could I believe this STUPID list would generate so much attention)

Summary: the best and funniest of Linda Howard`s book i ever read
Review: If i can`t put it down so can you because it was very entertaining book. I`m not a murder/mystery fun but with this you will laugh your head off to her witty dialogue and you get glued to the story because it was never boring. So for all of you thinking of buying it. Well dont think buy it its worth every cell of your brain to read it.

Summary: Great!! I finished it in a day
Review: Overall this book was fantastic. The only complaint I have is the development of the romance between Sam and Jaine. I myself think it could have gone along a little slower, and with more romance - I found that the majority of the attraction was about sex, not love.I would have preferred something a little more pure. But it was still an extraordinary book, and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be checking out more of Linda Howard's books. I couldn't put it down! There's some real talent here!

Summary: Had to stay up all night
Review: What a great book! I had to read all night, I simply couldn't put it down. Linda Howard used exactly the right amount of suspense, erotic and humor. This was my first Linda Howard book. I am looking forward to the next one.

Summary: Another great book by Linda Howard
Review: Despite the seriousness of the fact that somebody is trying to kill the four female friends who created The List (which started out as a joke just among them and ended up becoming known nationwide), most of the dialogue between Jaine and her next-door neighbor, Sam, was ablsolutely hilarious. Ms. Howard did a great job of interweaving the serious with the humorous, balancing the growing attraction between Jaine and Sam with the need to find a psychotic killer who is stalking the four women. All in all, I really enjoyed this book.

Summary: An author worthwhile
Review: Because I read in pretty much all of my spare time, I have had great difficulty finding authors that are worth reading. I bought this book when I was having trouble finding a book the piqued my interest at that point. I was going through the bestseller shelf saying to myself "read that, will never read that, read that" and so on when the cover, of all things, caught my eye. When my gaze traveled I realized that I had never read this author and before I even read the synopsis I was in the checkout line. When I finished the book the next morning I was pleasantly surprised. The humor of the novel was certainly not expected but welcomed. The four women had great in depth characters with differse personalities. The plot of the story was not one I had read before, which is always a relief when someone has read as many books as I have. Even though the villian was easy to recognize, it was made believable and the psychology of it all was interesting. I was intrigued and it made me laugh. There are no better reasons to like a book than that.

Summary: A Page Turner
Review: I enjoyed the book - started reading the book at the gym and before I knew it I was on the bicycle for 50 minutes. I had not read any of Howard before but I liked her main characters so much I have just purchased another one (All The Queen's Men).

Summary: A Mystery??
Review: This was my first mystery by Linda Howard and I was very disappointed. While the heroine's were cute and the plot had some entertaining twists and turns, the relationship between the hero and heroine was unrealistic. In one chapter, they are seething at each other and the next they are involved in a steamy love story. The infinite details of their sexual encounters were not woven into the story but obviously dropped in to "jazz" up an otherwise simple story line. It's a shame - while I enjoy romantic/sexual subplots in a mystery, a writer needs to integrate these elements and Ms. Howard failed to do accomplish that task. Secondly, the mystery was easily solved as there were few potential vilans. Thirdly, the text was primarily dialogue with few indepth descriptions and little anaysis of the criminal's mind. And lastly, the motive was a bit contrived. It was a fast/easy read but scarcely what I would consider a good mystery.
