Rating: Summary: Pure Pleasure Review: This book was a quick, enjoyable read. Why? I liked meeting the principal characters, the romance and sex were hot, and there was a murder mystery with psychological implications, too. What more could you ask? The dialogue and exhanges between Jaine, Sam, and her friends were lively and fun. The mystery element was not as finely handled as most of the other details of the book and that's why I can't give it 5 stars. It was kinda like the Columbo TV series. They tell you who the murderer is and then you have to wait for the other characters to catch on. For some, the realization comes too late.
Rating: Summary: Ms. Howard does not seem able to write a bad book! Review: I've read many of her books (I am working my way through the older ones) and so far have not been disappointed. Definitely one of the best I've read. Don't miss it.
Rating: Summary: LOVED THIS BOOK! Review: Linda Howard doesn't always exactly hit the mark (5 stars), but she always comes pretty close. This book was a triumph. I loved Jaine Bright - she is vivid and unforgettable. Sam is definitely the Man! This story was a tour de force (my italics key does not seem to work). All of the women were charming individuals and I didn't want to lose any of them. A great book. Very different from "Son of the Morning", but just as satisfying! Can't wait 'til "Open Season" comes out in paperback. (Hard cover is to heavy to read in bed.)
Rating: Summary: Too long til the good parts Review: I was more than half way through the book when things finally started to happen. Though the banter back and forth between the two main characters was entertaining from start to finish, I felt as if I kept waiting for the excitement to start. Once it did, it came in a florish. I was also disappointed that Ms Howard did not spend a little more time developing the villian. I felt like she forgot to tell the reader about him throughout the story, and put it at the end as an after thought. An ok read...not her best.
Rating: Summary: Hilariously funny, amazingly sensual, brilliant suspense.... Review: As I plunk myself down in front of my little computer, I wonder how I can possibly review this novel well enough to possibly come close to doing justice to this spectacular (believe me, the word doesn't even come close) novel? Maybe these words will help: fantastic, fabulous, hilariously funny, amazingly sensual, and brilliantly suspenseful.... I noticed right off that the characters are so alive, so...real. Humor is worked into the novel. I've never noticed in other Linda Howard novels...or maybe the others paled by comparison. I lost count of the number of times I was laughing out loud at the witty comments, re-read them over and over so I could memorize them. I am mentally cringing as the thought of Mrs. Howard trying to one-up this book. If you've never read a Linda Howard novel, shame on you she's the best author, and this is the one to buy! My only complaint is that Mr. Perfect didn't go on forever... In fact, I think I'll go read it again.
Rating: Summary: Not much of a mystery Review: I decided to read this book since it was classified as a mystery/thriller. It was much more of a romance. The basis of the plot was ridiculous and I couldn't believe the way some characters reacted to some events. Skip it.
Rating: Summary: I READ IT ALL IN A NIGHT!!!!!!! Review: I won't go into details of the book since a lot of other people have but I have to say that this is the best book that I have read in awhile! I laughed so hard though the whole thing! I highly recommend this book!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic, Funny, Exceptional Review: Linda Howard brings passion and tenderness, faith and friendship. The characters were real, and the plot had you on the seat of your pants. If you are looking for a hot romantic suspense, dont look any further. Thanks, Linda, keep it up.
Rating: Summary: Mr. Perfect Review: Great read! Pulls you in from the beginning and keeps you there.
Rating: Summary: MR. PERFECT Review: I started to read this book and was very disapointed. I have read other books by this author, but this book is terrible. The language used is foul and offensive. The heroine is an obnoxious person, and the plot leaves much to be desired I would not recomend this book to anyone. Don't waste your time.
