Summary: Good idea, but needs more laughs per page...
Review: Love Janet. Love all the Plum novels. This one is better in the concept than it is between the covers, however. It's ultimately silly, but it did keep my interest. I found it too short on belly laughs, and without Ranger or Bob the Golden Gourmet dog, it seemed a bit hollow. People will perhaps accuse Janet of being too greedy and taking advantage of Plum-addicted fans. I hope that's not true. To those of us who are hooked, a year is a long time to wait for a book we'll devour within 24 hours of purchase or snatching it from the library shelf. I went through that cycle with Dick Francis for 20 years or so, and it hurts. An "interim novella" at year's end that makes a good Christmas present is a fine idea, as long as the quality truly holds up. This initial try is just a tad weak. Better luck next year, Janet. I bought this in hardcover as an early holiday present for my wife, who got the Stephanie Plum habit from me, an old Trenton kid. She enjoyed "Visions" more than I did, so the gift was a success. Both of us are eagerly awaiting number nine in the full-length saga. And this time, don't skimp on the really funny stuff!

Summary: Have you nothing else to read?
Review: Not even a cereal box? Then you might want to read this. It might take you longer to read than your average nutrition information. That's what I found the most disappointing. Then there was fact that Stephanie hasn't changed a bit since book one. I asked myself why I read this and the only reason I came up with was that I was bored. So, if you're bored, go ahead. Otherwise, there are a lot of good books out there with great characters begging to be read!

Summary: It was ok
Review: This book was ok, kinda Christmacy for the holidays, but it's not the best, and doesn't fit in with the series.

Summary: Not Your Usual Stephanie
Review: Visions of Sugar Plums finds Stephanie in search of Sandy Claws, an elderly man who runs a toy shop. Sounds simple enough, right? Enter Diesel, a mysterious man who "pops" into Stephanie's kitchen. With his help Stephanie is on the case to find Sandy. Oh, did I mention Sandy has workers in his toy shop? And they're elves???

This book was a major disappointment. A big fan of the Stephanie Plum series I found this book to be boring. It didn't have all the usual characters and the ones that did make an appearance were in the book such a short time. This book seemed to be written in a hurry and not well created. I was in a hurry for it to be over so I could read something else. I kept hoping that it would get better but that just didn't happen.

I would recommend skipping this Stephanie novel. It is a waste of time. Not worth buying or spending the time reading.

Review: I didn't get very far with this. I didn't like it at all...

Summary: Not as good as the other Stephanie Plum novels
Review: I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Stephanie Plum novels.

I LOVE Ranger and Morelli (don't we all wish we had our own?).

I didn't like this one as much. I like the real characters. The main characters in this one were so unreal and it took away from the book.

I did enjoy it, though.

I can't wait for 10 to come out.

Summary: AVID EVANOVICH READER
Review: Well I look forward to the release of the Stephanie Plum novels...I missed the release of this one so I actually read To The Nines first...I thought that this book was GRABBING for ideas...I still found it to be funny and I always look forward to the trouble Stephanie gets herself into, but I just didn't like the imaginary characters....I like the REAL ones like Ranger and Morelli. I still enjoyed reading it and couldn't put it down until it was finished... I just hope that Ten Big Ones gets back to the usual Plum problems and bounty hunting...I love the sparks between Stephanie and the two men in her life...I look forward to more of those sparks, and more of the CRAZIES she has to hunt down!

Summary: Ms. Stephanie meets Harry Potter.
Review: First let me say that this is just a fun 3 star book, but I laughed out load often enough to give it a 4th star. Thjis is not Frank Capra and there is no jimmie Stewart. What we get is Diesel. Diesel is like if Ranger was from the world of Harry Potter. Diesel is.. well special.

I bought the unabridged Audio CD and Lorelei king does a great job creating the various voices from Steph to Ranger, Diesel, Morelli to Grandma and Lula.

I must have read these out of order, becuase in To The Nines, Valerie and Kloughn have a baby, but Valerie only has 2 kids in this one.

Anyway, ignor those Naysayers, becuase if you've like this books so far, you'll enjoy this short offering.

Summary: Short but Sweet :)
Review: Despite what a lot of other Evanovich fans' reviews, I think this book was highly interesting! I may not be that old but I couldn't put the book down. My mom read it in one hour and we both thought it was a great book. It may not have been as good as some of her other books but it was still a funny, mysterious novel. And I'm looking forward to her next GREAT novel!

Don't worry Ms. Evanovich...I got your back!

Review: I thought this was a book JE just threw together. It was silly, quite insulting to the avid fan. Let Stephanie stick with Morelli and Ranger. I like the sparks from them. This is silly.
I scanned it after the first 2 chapters. It lost my interest. This one, sorry Ms. Evanovich, is the big isn't.
