Summary: Supremely Witty!
Review: This book is a gem! Maddy Hunter has found the perfect balance between true mystery and humor. I was constantly having to stop reading because I was laughing so hard! The story is a page turner - in fact, you might want to read it on a weekend or day you don't have to go to work, because you won't want to put it down. I can't wait for another Maddy Hunter installment!

Summary: I never wanted it to end!
Review: This book is fantastic. I never wanted the story to end. If you like humor with your mysteries, then this is the book for you. If you also like travel, then it just doesn't get any better. I can't wait to jump into the next book. Keep them coming!

Summary: Bravo Maddy
Review: This is a great 'Who Done It'! It had me guessing a laughing all
through the book. Emily Andrew, a pretty and sexy unemployed
thespian, accompanies her spry grandmother on a trip to Switzerland
with a group of clicky senior citizens from Iowa. Low and behold
people in the group start dropping like flys and everyone becomes a suspect. Emily is forever getting wet whether it be from a faulty
shower, an unexpected dip in the river, or whenever the handsome
Inspector Miceli comes near.
An excellent development of the characters with a mix of mystery
and humor.

Summary: Passport to fun!
Review: This is a wonderful mystery! Emily Andrew, divorced and in between jobs, agrees to accompany her grandmother on a senior citizen's trip to Switzerland sponsored by one of the local banks in their hometown of Windsor City, Iowa. The only drawback to the trip is the presence of Andrew Simon, their local escort for the trip and a man who believes that any female who is conscious is fair game for his advances. Fortunately for Emily, but unfortunately for Andrew, he is found dead in his hotel room the evening they arrive. After it's determined that he has been murdered, Emily takes over his job as escort to the group and along with Detective Etienne Miceli tries to figure out who among their group would have had a motive to kill Andrew. Much to her chagrin, Emily discovers that just about everyone had a reason to want to kill Andrew. He was not a very popular guy!

I enjoyed this book very much. The dialogue is witty and the book has one of the funniest opening lines I've read in a long time. Some of the situations that arise with Emily and the tour group are hilarious. Time and time again, Emily is faced with every kind of tourist's nightmare; lost luggage, mixed up rooms, foul weather, etc. The author's biography in the back of the book says that Ms. Hunter has endured disastrous vacations on three continents. I would love to know if any of the events in this book were inspired by her real life experiences! There are also some terrific characters included among the group of senior citizens in the story, especially Emily's grandmother and her best friend, Bernice. All in all, a very funny and enjoyable mystery!

Summary: Laugh Out Loud Fun!
Review: This is the first book in the Passport to Peril Mysteries. This story is about the tour from hell to Switzerland, as taken by Emily and her grandmother. Did I mention that included on this trip is a group of Nana's friends....senior citizens from Iowa? Everything that can go wrong does, and Emily finds herself overboard swimming to catch up to a floating artifical limb in one scene. Overall, there are just too many hilarious scenes in this book to describe them all but they do not disappoint!

Secondary to the action (at least in my opinion) is the mystery of a fallen fellow traveler that, of course, Emily solves. I would compare this book to Janet Evanovich for humor and for the slapstick-type situations that both Stephanie Plum and Emily find themselves in.

As of this writing, the second book in the series, Top O the Morning, is due to be released in September of 2003. Enjoy!

Summary: Loved it!
Review: While there are similarities to the Plum series, this book has its very own flavor. And it's delicious! It's fun and fast and I can't wait for the next one. Keep 'em coming!
