Summary: Awful.
Review: Baldacci must have a lot of close personal friends. There is no other way to explain a positive review of this book. Bad character development, rediculous plot, poor (if any) research.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Preposterous beyond all possible belief
Review: This book was completely ridiculous. I had trouble not ripping open the door of the plane I was on while reading it (over rural Virginia, I might add) and throwing this piece of garbage out, taking my chances with my own crash. There is not ONE major plot point that could actually occur - not ONE. Plastic characters, complete fakery, etc., etc., etc. So bad, so wrong, so sad.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A smart thriller from beginning to end!
Review: This is a terrific read with a smart, female lead who can take care of herself through all the twists and turns of this well crafted novel. Plan on a few late nights once you get started. I found it to be far superior to "Absolute Power" and almost as good as some of the early books by Robert Ludlum. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: No sex
Review: Not only do I like a good action thriller, but when I'm done a good one I like to pass it on to my teenagers. Absolute Power had just too much sex of the disgusting variety. For those who care, Total Control has no sex, disgusting or otherwise.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Very enjoyable! Great 'beach read'.
Review: Baldacci is no Stegner when it comes to writing style, but despite the 'unpolishedness', I couldn't put it down. The plot twists were both surprising and convincing. The characters were stereotypical, but were still very likable (or hateable!) and not altogether unbelievable. I will definately take Baldacci to the beach again!

Summary: A Poor Follow-Up to "Absolute Power"
Review: David Baldacci showed he had a knack for characters and plotting in "Absolute Power." In "Total Control" (and his subsequent novels), he loses that knack. This book starts off very slow as he throws all of his character detail into the first few pages. He also has a very bad habit of telegraphing things that will happen later on in the story, so when it does appear the reader is neither surprised nor riveted. I won't bother writing a review for "The Winner" and his subsequent books; they are all the same. If you suffer from insomnia, read the first few chapters of his post-"Absolute Power" works; they'll put you to sleep in no time.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: a page-turner
Review: I don't generally read fiction and find it boring and monotonous. This book was a page turner from chapter one, with each subsequent chapter building the suspense. A great book and a great read. A true whodonit until the very end.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Can not put this one down!
Review: A fast pace, who done it book. So many plot twists and turns, it feels like a rat maze. Great character development, great dialog, and a plausible plot.

This is the first book of his that I read and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Appealing to both men and women, it is a terrific summer read!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Fun, awesome, spellbinding, keeps you guessing, READ IT!
Review: Right from the beginning, you are hooked into this story. Who is the good guy? Who is the bad guy? Just when you think you have it figured out, something else comes along to make you reconsider. Yes, the characters are a bit larger than life, but that just adds to the fun. I don't know or care whether the technical info is correct - the story line is terrific!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Kept my interest - didn't want to put it down.
Review: I liked the high tech aspect of this book - it was well researched - believable. It was my first Baldacci book. Now I have read them all.
