Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: Beleive it or not, I stayed up the whole night to read it. Reason? The book is unputdownable. It involved computers and technology stuff and the power and secrets held by powerful people in the company. It is a must-read book, though the part about the plane crash is a little unrealistic.
Rating: Summary: A terrific read right from the start! Review: I had never read Baldacci before, but this book grabbed me right from the start and didn't let go! This would make a great movie! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes their books to have action, suspense, and a lot of twists. A must read for any Ludlum fan!
Rating: Summary: OK, I *did* manage to finish it. Review: The tech stuff was weakly done (many errors), and the whole plot was uninspired. The dailog was incredible (in the negative sense), and the people stupid (except when the plot required otherwise). With regard to the reader, Mr. Duke's delivery was stilted and distracting, when not outright corrupting of the meaning (e.g. misplacement of pauses). Only finished it 'cause I'm a captive audience in the car...
Rating: Summary: STILL THINKING ABOUT IT A WEEK LATER! Review: This was a brilliant thriller. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and am still thinking about it a week after putting it down. My only criticism is that the dialogue was a little stilted in places, ie. when FBI agent is discussing underground carpark murder with female FBI forensic scientist. Nevertheless, this did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the book.
Rating: Summary: FACE IT, THE REAL WORLD IS BORING Review: i thought this book was awesome. i can kinda agree w/ those who say it has an unrealistic plot, but the real world is usually boring and i am glad to read something unrealistic. i cant even name a favorite baldacci book b/c they are so close together in "goodness". cant wait til saving faith comes out in paperback (another year) so this poor college boy can buy it.
Rating: Summary: Totally absorbing novel, couldn't put it down. Review: High tech read. It was great to see a woman with brains. I liked her a lot and thought she had more on the ball than some of the bad guys. I love David Baldacci and was hooked from the Winner. Looking forward to his next book. I highly recommend this book and his other novels.
Rating: Summary: A non-stop show-stopping read! Review: Amazing book! I enjoyed reading Absolute Power, and Total Control is a great read.. Hard to put down..Since the book is set right here in DC, I felt right at home!
Rating: Summary: Fair thriller -- he has done better. Review: The dialogue is a bit weak and the story isn't believeable at times. Descriptions of the emotions of some of the characters was excellent but other parts of the book were very sub-par.
Rating: Summary: Below average Review: You can read this book on the beach, or just take it as light entertainment, but I wouldn't recommend it to you. It's too slow. The plot is complex, and this would be good, but then it hasn't got any interesting twisting points: it just keeps building one mistery after another, and the reader's interest is kept about some secret that will come out only at the end of the book. I read D.B. "The simple truth", too, and the story-stucture is the same. It's not bad for a book to reveal its big secret at the end, but that is a difficult choice for an author, because he's got to be able to write a good book in the meantime. That is something David Baldacci could not do in this book.
Rating: Summary: Do not bother.... Review: I could not finish this piece of trash. The dialogue was so bad that it made me laugh. How could this be published? Fifth graders can do better than this!
