Summary: Very Disappointing
Review: My least favorite Connelly book. I think he's taken Harry as far as he can go. The stopped-smoking and wife-leaving sub plots are boring, and the red herrings are too obvious. The attempt to pull actual headline fodder into the overall mix (OJ, JonBenet, etc) are too easy and seem manipulative. Connelly can, has had done, much better. "The Poet" & "Blood Work", which were not about Harry, are much better plotted and paced.

Summary: Good with a difficult ending.
Review: I've always liked Harry. This one had a good plot. Good characters. I especially liked the relationship stuff between Eleanor and Harry. But the ending bothered me -- morally questionable.

Summary: Another excellent story from a great writer
Review: Angel's Flight is what I have come to expect from Connelly--a very intricate plot woven with complex characters and sufficient suspense to keep you guessing to the end. I did like Blood Work a little more--my only disclaimer this read was a few too many twists and final denouements. Minor quibbles aside I can always count to enjoying a very satisfying read and eager for the next Connelly book.

Review: Michael Connelly always delivers a good read

Summary: What Happened to the Maverick Harry Bosch?
Review: I am a little surprised by all the 5 star reviews...Connelly is a fantastic story teller, and his Harry Bosch books are so compelling as to be addictive. Angels Flight, however, is simply not as taughtly written as the other Bosch books. Harry is not as tough and uncompromising in this--he seems out of character--he meekly leads his team through this investigation, which draws heavily on the emotions stirred up by the O.J. and Rodney King affairs. What happened to the tough, no nonsense rule-breaker we have come to love? And with nothing more than a brief appearance, his new wife is conveniently absent from the story. As if Connelly couldn't be bothered by the complications her presence in Bosch's life would create. A good book, worth reading, but not Connelly's best by long shot.

Summary: Another Great Story by Michael Connelly
Review: I played croquet once with Michael Connelly, and I'm happy to say he's a far better novelist than croquet player. Connelly's greatest skill is weaving a complex plot, and Angel's Flight is another teriffic example of a story that kept me completely absorbed.

Summary: What a great read!
Review: I anxiously awaited Michael Connelly's new book and it is everything I hoped it would be. The best of what he has written!

Summary: Connelly delivers a delious page-turning mystery w/Bosch
Review: I read this book in 24 hours. The book grabbed me in the 1st 2 pages. I loved this book because it has everything I think makes a good mystery. A character one can care about in Harry Bosch, a good story, and a mystery which is not what it seems. The book is a page turner. You may not be able to put it down because Connelly keeps the action moving. The story takes place over 48 hours which increases the already heightened tension. I was waiting for Connelly's new book because he always writes a good story. For those who are Harry Bosch fans, Connelly does not disappoint. If you are not a Connelly fan, after this book you will be.

Summary: Wonderful AGAIN
Review: Harry simply rules, although I agree with most of the reviewers that there was a little too much personal agony in this one. Not enough to ruin it, though. Now what I want to know, is when will Harry and Terry McCaleb hook up to hunt down the Poet? It was fun to see Roy Lindell again. What happened to Grace Billets?
