Summary: Cromwell takes you on a non-stop thrill ride.

Unnatural Exposure, by Patricia Cornwell ***** "Unnatural Exposure is a non-stop thrill ride from start to finish!"

Thrilling! Suspenseful! Spine tingling on the edge of your seat excitement from start to finish! Patricia Cornwell captures your mind and your imagination and throws your most horrifying fears right in front of your face in her murder mystery, Unnatural Exposure. Dr. Kay Scarpetta, the head medical examiner at a Virginia morgue has been leading the investigation in a series of gruesome murders. There is someone out there who is murdering innocent people and communicating with Dr. Scarpetta only through the vast world of cyberspace. Just when she thinks she has answered the question and unraveled the mystery, the killer poses ten more questions. He always seems to be two steps ahead of the investigation. He knows what they are thinking and he knows exactly what they will do next. They are playing along perfectly in his twisted game. Throughout the investigation, a deadly virus breaks out on a secluded island and claims several lives. Dr. Scarpetta has reason to believe that this sudden outbreak out may be linked to the murders. She now has to find a way to discover the cause of this virus and how it may be somehow connected to the killings. It is a virus that has "never before been seen on this planet" as Scarpetta says. Meanwhile she needs to keep everything away from the public ear to prevent an uproar. That seems very unlikely since Detective Ring, who is also working on the investigation, is dying to be in the spotlight with a breakthrough story. This masterpiece throws the reader right into the story and makes you feel like you are actually the one experiencing the terror that this Virginia community is experiencing. Without a doubt, this book is one day reading or less. From the story's opening moment you cannot put the book down. Cornwell keeps the reader guessing as the entire storyline plays out right up until the very climax of the story.

Summary: I REALLY LIKED THIS BOOK!! FASTEST PACE I'VE EVER READ!
Review: I thought this was the best of the ones by Patricia Cornwell that I have read yet. I wish I had started at the beginning, but jumping around from novel to novel has been OK too. I just really like the characters, the way they grow with each novel and the way they remain true to themselves. Definitely a must read. Even if your squeamish like me, there is something about Cornwell's writing that allows me to read it and not have to put it down.

Summary: A real page turner, I couldn't put this book down.
Review: Patrcia Cornwell has done it again. This is the eighth Cornwell book I've read and they keep getting better and better. Unnatural Exposure is the best in the Scarpetta series and the story is the most unusual. I feel like Kay is an old friend and I love Marino. Cornwell writes her characters true to life. Complete with stress, relationship problems, and the aches and pains of aging. I enjoy the intricate plots of Cornwell's stories and her development of the characters and their relationships with each other. As I read the books, I almost feel as if I am part of the story. Patricia Cornwell is a truly gifted writer and I am a loyal reader. I can't wait to read her next book.

Summary: IT SUCKED

Summary: Same old material and too too much personal angst
Review: I've read several of Cornwell's mysteries, and perhaps I've just picked the wrong ones. I'm so tired of hearing of the evil Carrie and what she did to poor Lucy and other recurring major characters. I've also lost interest long ago in the love life of just about every recurring character in this series. Furthermore, it's too bad the author can't present pathology without excessive gore. Please, Ms. Cornwell, come up with something new and ease up on your noble heroine's ongoing private problems (or at least change them a little). I really enjoy ME mysteries and would like to see something similar to the approach of "Silent Witness" or the latest J. Deaver books (minus the heavy gore).

Summary: A Victim of Success
Review: Patricia Cornwell's writing has deteriorated in direct relation to her ascending fame. Isn't it clear by now that the character of Kay Scarpetta is essentially herself? Does Scarpetta really function as an M.E. anymore? The plot was as weak as the story was long winded. With each book, the characters lose another dimension of their personalities. It's time to take a break Ms. Cornwell.

Summary: OUTSTANDING AS USUAL
Review: Once again, Patricia Cornwell caught and kept my attention through out the entire book. I could not put it down. Wonderful job!!!!!

Summary: Thank goodness it's over..........
Review: This was a very "wordy" book. There are entirely too many abreviations of agencies that actually don't make a difference in this storyline. I think that the ending was weak...give us a break, at least let the villian be in 2-3 chapters...and by the way, what happened to the neice and her "lady friend"?? This was left in the air........and, please get your facts straight...there are NO moving sidewalks in the Atlanta airport!!!!! I travel there quite often.....I was happy when it finally ended!

Summary: The Brilliant Cornwell is slipping
Review: What promised to be yet another great book by Patricia Cornwell ended up being a less than average read. This book along with her last; Hornets Nest were both a disapointment compared to her other brilliant books, my favourite being Cruel and Unusual which was a Golden Dagger winner.
