Rating: Summary: fasted paced, intriguing and unputdownable Review: I started to read "Unnatural Exposure" and was pleaseantly surprised to find how quickly and easily the plot paced itself from Dublin,Ireland back over to America linking bodies on both sides of the Atlantic. A little bit predictable in places but the characters, especially Ring, made up for that. A nice, neat finish, I would recommend this book to anybody. An excellent read.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing! Review: I've read all the others, and liked them, but this one was really boring!
Rating: Summary: Best Yet... Review: I have read everyone of Cornwell's books and think this is the best one. There was no anticlimactic ending like there usually is. I never suspected who the killer was - usually her books have crappy endings. Needless to say, I think it's Kay Scarpetta I like - not necessarily Cornwell.
Rating: Summary: Author rushed the conclusion to meet her deadline Review: What a disappointment! Ms. Cornwell dropped the ball in developing what could have been a good story. After finishing this book, I felt like the author either got tired of it or had to meet her deadline, and so just dashed off a final chapter that came out of the blue and made no sense. She fails to bring the story line with Ring to a conclusion, and patronizes the reader with the Epilogue. Come on!!!!! What a waste of my time!
Rating: Summary: " FEEBLE CONCLUSION " This reader feels vaguely insulted. Review: The feeble ending leaves me confused. Why would someone write so well and then show so little thought as to the conclusion of the story? Remininscent of a much poorer genre. I enjoy Cromwell's previous books and so I will suspend my judjement until I read her next book. BUT 2 such poor efforts would cause me to consider dropping her from my reading list. I currently read a book every FIVE or six days so I consider my self a good supporter of authors. WHEN YOU WRITE , PLEASE WRITE SOMETHING 'YOU' CAN RESPECT. Lloyd Thomas
Rating: Summary: Complete Crap! Shame on Cornwell. Review: It's a pity that an author can get away with publishing this poor a book just because she's written passably well before. Of course, she'll make money . . . but never again from me!
Rating: Summary: Don't let the bitter taste turn you off Review: I've just recently (within the past nine months) learned of Patricia Cornwell's work. I must admit that this work was a major let-down. Although switching gears and writing about a biological killer was medium well-down, previuos books have been strongly rooted in human conscience/behavior style. Scarpetta, no doubt, is capable of biological enemies, but human threats are more her line of work. To judge her work on this one novel simply isn't fair. I strongly encourage new Cornwell readers to start at the beginning and pay attention to the character developments. Cornwell writes well and I have faith in her. I'm anxiously waiting for Point of Origin, and if that means more of Scarpetta's self-righteousness, more of Scarpetta and Wesley having a difficult relationship, more of Marino's Slobby dwindling, more of Lucy's to-the-edge of everything perfection quest, more suspense, more Virginia, I'm ready. Remember, if you start disliking a character, it's because of how the ! character is written. Cornwell is under no obligation to continue to give readers a character they like. If you're moved by her writing, then she has fulfilled her job requirements.
Rating: Summary: a never-let-up fast-paced ride! Review: Patricia Cornwell's latest thriller is packed with excitement. From the shores of Tangier Island to Fort Detrick the author never misses a chance to turn up the heat! Kay Scarpetta shines!
Rating: Summary: Dr. Kay needs a vacation. Review: I have read all of Patricia Cornwalls books and am finding that I did not enjoy this latest adventure of Dr. Kays as much as her previous ones. I did guess the gender of the villian, although a little more character development/ information on her would have made this hold together a bit more. I am really getting tired of the good doctors tirelessness persuit of the bad guys. Im sure she did not have a nights sleep throughout the entire book. I did like the end, and was not dissappointed as many of the other reviewers were and hope that she will finally..... move on with her life. Maybe a breakdown and good rest would be in order. You could write a book with Marino as the lead and Dr. Kay as a player. What do you think?
Rating: Summary: This work is half a novel with an implausable ending. Review: This New York Times Bestseller gets two stars because I enjoyed the first 66% of the book. The last third was terrible. The ending does not fit. What happened to Ring? She spent more time describing the military transport aircraft than Wingo's death. I'm also getting tired of the use of two dimentional homophobe characters to validate Lucy's homosexuality.
