Summary: Flows along nicely but not too exciting
Review: I have to start my review by saying that I am a huge fan of Grisham's. I have read and like every one of his books but feel that lately he is just churning them out as it is expected of him. Where books like The Chamber and A Time To Kill (even The Firm) had a story line that made you turn the page and wouldn't let you put them down, this book and his previous book are merely an interesting story which is a good read but nothing much else. I liked the story but it wasn't a Grisham book - not the kind we all know and love.

Summary: Obviously not the best
Review: It makes you think of homeless (but only for 1 day- and that's the time enough to read it). That's all! Hope they don't make a movie of it...

Summary: There's nothing wrong with idealism
Review: I've just been glancing though some of these reviews and I can't believe what I'm reading. It seems people are having a problem with The Street Lawyer because it's idealism makes it unbelievable. Is it too unbelievable to think that someone would give up $120 grand a year to be a public intrest lawyer at $30 grand a year? NO!!! So someone in Grisham's novals woke up and realized money doesn't have to rule their world. I suppose these people giving low scores to this book would rather read a story of a young corperate attorney sews a bunch of orphans for not having parents, sews a bunch of homeless for not having homes, goes though nine unsuccessful mariages without paying a dime in alamony, makes partner at age 32, and goes to hell at age 80. Mr. Grisham if your reading this I want you to know I thourghily enjoyed reading The Street Lawyer and I applaud you for using your literary talent and popularity to open peoples eyes to not only a very understated problem, but a new look at how we can preceive the value of your work. For those who haven't read The Street Lawyer, it has all the plot twists and suspense of any Grisham noval (even more accually) but it's benevilence is reason enough to enjoy it. This is the one you've been waiting for.

Summary: Not the usual Grisham, but a good book all the same.
Review: I liked this book. It lacked the suspense and the climatic ending the we are familiar with from Grisham's previous work but it was still a page turner. I can see how the many Grisham readers can be dissapointed. But someone who has never read Grisham and is not familiar with him may really enjoy this book.

Summary: An inspiration
Review: An inspiration! It could happen to any of us. My only concern is with Mr. Grisham....if he was indeed inspired by some homeless person in Washington, DC, is he giving any of his royalties from this book to a soup kitchen, shelter, or other agency that might help the homeless???

Summary: Another page turner by John Grisham
Review: John Grisham once again wrote a page-turner. I couldn't put it down until I had finished devouring it. This time Mr Grisham raises a valuable point. Being homeless could happen to anyone at any time and what are we as the average American doing about it?

Summary: Best Legal Thriller (NOT!!!!)
Review: This book is an embarrassing effort by John Grisham. His characters are so plastic and phony that I couldn't identify with any of them. Mr. Ambition, Michael Brock, looks death in the face. He survives, but has to ditch his job, wife, possessions and family. He cares so much for the homeless that he always feeds them cookies and donuts. Oh, what a message. What is the moral of the story? John Grisham can't write. Please, save yourself some agony. Do not read this book.

Summary: IF YOU'VE READ ONE GRISHAM, YOU'VE READ THEM ALL
Review: This is the latest in Grisham's growing list of formula novels. The plots are predictable, the characters stereotypical, the lessons preachy. He has clearly lost the magic of his earlier books. The real cliffhanger for me is what Grisham will do with all those millions of dollars he earns from all the readers who were subjected to his personal "give it all away and follow me" manifesto. If he wants to provide a realistic view of lawyers, I suggest he visit some who are actually in the trenches and who actually know where the courthouse is. John Grisham is no lawyer, and he is now nothing more than a mediocre book-of-the-month-club author.

Summary: Excellent
Review: I have read all of Grisham's books. Though it was not his best, it was very enjoyable. I was once again caught up in his plot and the action of the novel. I thoroughly enjoy the way that he allows the reader to really understand the traits of the character. You get a real sense that you are there with the main character and that you can relate to him. It was great that the ending was not cheesy and that you left the book with a feeling that there is a greater sense of reality. This is something that has been missing in the last few books. I look forward to reading the next version and yes, I will be there buying the hard copy! Thank you Mr. Grisham for such wonderful books.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Not Grisham's best moment!
Review: Although I have always been a loyal Grisham fan, I have no choice but to pan this book. The best thing that can be said about it is that it is informative. However, it's not captivating, or even interesting in the least. You leave this book feeling like you've gotten a five hour lecture about homelessness. This work has none of his Grisham's usual suspense and thrill which have always made his books a pleasure to read.
