Summary: Loved it!!
Review: I have read lots of Grisham's books as most of his loyal followers do, but although the litigation part of his books is what draws me to his work, I find his books to be "slow with a bang". In other words, if you stick with it you will enjoy it, in hind view. Not this book!!! Staight off the bat you are thrown into the excitement. The first three chapters are speed reading becuase you can't put it down. Laughter and excitement all mixed in one. In the middle of the book it slows down (typical.. I find in all his books as I mentioned earlier) but then the end is a ... I can't wait to see what is going to happen so I won't put the book down, type of writing. Since the Chamber I had not read such great Grisham work. Note that the order of my reading his books is not in the order they were published so I might still have great reads to go... but this was very good and, although I see many have been disappointed I must say I found it worth picking it up to read and will highly recommend it to anyone.

Summary: John Grisham, what more can I say?
Review: This was the best book that John has ever written (if I may call him John). Michael Brock and Mordecai Green have great chemistry together. Plus its a story that makes you want to go out and help someone in need.

Summary: Okay John, what happened to the good stuff???
Review: I rarely delve into the "pop culture" book list, and "The Street Lawyer" is a good example of why. Grisham's early books were good. They kept me interested. But Johnny boy is just not keeping up with his reputation these days. You are told the entire story one-third into the book. And the rest just seems to come off as dribble -- a filler of sorts. Something told me to check this one out at the library instead of paying for it. And I am proud to say I did just that.

Summary: Get a Life...
Review: outside of Tennessee or Kentucky or wherever the heck you are from, Mr. Grisham!!! Ever since the "The Rainmaker" JG's creative juices have dried up. Nothing since then has read like "The Client", "The Firm", or "A Time to Kill". Brain cramp or what-have-you, the latest works are dull, stale, and just plain boring!

Summary: An expensive essay.
Review: I've read all of Grisham's books. I began reading his books long before he became a mega star. I've really enjoyed his work and looked forward to this one. What a major disappoinment. There was absolutely no suspence.....until the last 15 pages of this short book. The ending was predictable right from page 1. If he wanted to make this book into a movie, it would have to be shown on Nick at Night on Nickelodeom. I felt ripped off. It seemed to me that Grisham just through something together to make a buck. I've found short essays more interesting and exciting. I really hope that he puts more effort and passion into his next book.....and not just turn out something for the publishers to pitch to his fans for $25. I hated to write this, but I needed to say it.

Summary: Implausible Stinkaroo!!!
Review: To affirm many of the reviews, this one is a stinkeroo! Totally implausible (K street lawyer gets epiphamy? Ha!) Stilted writing contributes to a hardback which I will actually trash. And I NEVER throw away books! Linnette Garber, Bethesda, Maryland lawyer.

Summary: A disappointing read - exploitation of the homeless.
Review: This book tries to make the main character - a lawyer - a "savior" among the homeless. I read the credits at the end thanking several people - he should have donated all profits to the homeless - instead of using them to finance his own greed. I kept thinking through the entire book - no way would this lawyer do this - this story is a joke! I live in the city and see homeless on a daily basis - he should quit writing and use his $$ for something useful!

Review: The streetlawyer is grisham's first book that deals with a serious social issue; that of homeless people.It's not a thriller but more of a human interest book, that is what sets it apart. Although the plot is a bit thin, it's still one of grisham's better books
