Summary: Life along the streets.
Review: One of best I've read, though it's somehow a little too draggy. Gives not only a vivid description of the life living along streets, with desperation and shame, but also how greedy and cruel one can turn when it comes to money. Powerful.

Summary: The Master does it yet again!!!
Review: This is undoubtedly one of Grisham's best efforts. He is able to paint a picture of the homeless brilliantly. He is a true veteran when it comes to writing courtroom drama. Although the plot of this book is relatively simple, I find it no less entertaining than his all-time bestseller, The Firm. A must read for all Grisham fans!

Summary: He tries to bring out the idden side of our society.
Review: This is my first John Grisham's book I've ever read. He writes so descriptively that it's sometimes reasonably difficult to follow the thread of the plot. In my opinion this book helps us to think over the way our society is led, by unveiling the darkest sides of it and putting its ruthless rules under the limelight.

Summary: Where is the story?
Review: I have read all of Grisham's books and have always considered them great stories. Street Lawyer was an exception. This was a difficult book to read to completion. After the initial incident in the law office in the beginning of the book, the rest was dull. Hoping for some interesting events, I continued to read, however the story never takes off and remains boring until the end. Hope Grisham starts writing interesting stories as he once did. Better luck next time.

Summary: Very Disappointed.
Review: Usually when you get real tired of work or whatever that's happening in your life, you may just want to sit down and read an interesting book to unwind a little. There are too many writers out there who just don't seem to be able to keep the attention span of their readers. So I thought, buy a Grisham book! That will keep me occupied for a few hours. Well, it didn't. I was bored. I was not interested in the character. The drama was not dramatic. Everything was just kind of BLAHHHHH. I was disappointed. Very disappointed.

Summary: The Street Lawyer made me THINK!
Review: I read the Street Lawyer by John Grisham the first week it was in the Book Stores. I loved it! I have read most of the John Grisham books, and one thing is constant - I never want the story to end. After I finished the Street Lawyer, I thought about it for days. This time like all of the others, it was difficult for me to finish this book and go on to read another author. In my opinion, The Street Lawyer was one of his best. It really made me think about my life and made me wonder, am I doing enough?

Summary: Timely and compelling.
Review: This book was great. I love how John Grisham talks about real issues, and doesn't just write a superficial legal thriller. It kept me involved, and Michael Brock was a very sympathetic character, like Rudy Baylor. Although I suspect John Grisham isn't exactly giving his money away (it sounds like he has two houses), as a college student I definitely appreciate his grappling with complicated issues such as homelessness.

Summary: Grisham can do better!
Review: I just finished the book and I think Grisham can do better! What is happening, low on ideas? I am a huge fan of his books, but this one was a little disapointing. I will give him another chance and continue reading his works. Hopefully the next will get better. Check out the Rainmaker and A Time to Kill if you are a first time Grisham reader.

Summary: The book is too steeped in social conciousness
Review: John Grisham has written several great stories. The Street Lawyer attempts to educate its readers on the plight of the homeless. Yes this is a major issue in our country, but the story does not hold the readers interest. If you really want a great thriller that has homelessness as a theme I would recommend, The Intruder by Peter Blauner. Mr. Grisham you could take a lesson from this author.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Revealing, touching.
Review: I am John's fan, have read all his books and with this one it took me only two days, I could not put it down, I learned a lot of an unknown helpless world. It made me think about social problems and how could I be of help to my fellowcitizens who are less lucky than me. It got to my heart.
