Summary: Surprise
Review: Grisham has written quite a great book, and I am surprised, because his earlier work, while entertaining, showed a rather limited perspective. The book shows genuine feeling, as the main character, a lawyer facing a mid-life crisis created by an incident with a homeless person, comes to grips with the shallowness of both his personal life and his professional career. Grisham does not handle these matters with condescension. The emotions seem deeply felt. The story is not simply a machismo contest between a law firm or powerful justices or an insurance company and an individual, as Grisham has written about before--far from it, it's about a person confronting his own humanity and painfully learning to have mercy for others. Very good stuff. There's hope yet for popular fiction.

Summary: A very compelling book.
Review: This book is the one that got me stared with Grisham. It is very well presented. I love the way that everyone who has ever seen a homeless person can relate to it. It shows that people do have feelings and can help. It sends out a great message to every person who picks it up.

Summary: Every lawyer should read this book
Review: I think that this book has an excellent message. No matter how rich we become, we should always remember that there are others that aren't as fortunate as us. This book will change your outlook on poor people. It is an excellent read!

Summary: Classic Grisham
Review: As gripping and insightful as "The Triumph and the Glory", as intense as "Red Dragon", and with a plot only John Grisham could conceive of and deliver in such handsome style, The Street Lawyer is a great novel, one of his best yet.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: The first Grisham book I've read but certainly not the last
Review: First off, let me just say that I'm a horrible reader. It takes me days, weeks, months to read the first chapters of some books. But this guy Grisham, he's got something going. I read this book in one day. Repeat, one day. That is not a typo (though I'm prone to those as well). He writes very simply, this guy Grisham... there isn't much description to make my eyes heavy. This is odd for me. Normally I hate writing that's not descriptive. But who knows... this guy Grisham (I like the ring to that) is a damn good writer. I liked the left leanings of this book. I liked its angelic sort of message. I liked how I read it in one mere day. Very recommended.

Summary: Wonderful
Review: The book was an excellent read. I choose to read it for a class and was surprised how quickly it got read! It is told in such a way that you would think that Grisham was homeless as sometime in his life! Keep up the good work!

Summary: Yes it's very good, however isn't it obvious?
Review: I have to admit that once I started to read The Street Lawyer, I could not put it down. I was compelled to finish the book and so I did within couple of hours. However, I ve felt that John Grisham's books are rather too easy to read and none of the plots boast any surprises. The fantastical "happy" ending is just too obvious for us all.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: One of Grisham's Best
Review: I found this book to be the one I could not put it down. The story flowed and moved and made me stop and think about helping others. This book is great to inspire people to help those less fortunate. I read it so fast I am actually upset to finish. Can't wait to read the next.

Summary: NOT his best
Review: This book sounded promising to begin with, a lawyer vs. his previous law firm. However, it did not lead to its expecations. The ending was hasty and dissapointing. He should write like his previous best sellers, The Firm and The Client.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: I enjoyed this book immensely.
Review: This book was easy reading. It gave me an idea of how Lawyers gather their information in preparation for presenting their case.
