Summary: one star, but only because zero stars isnt an option
Review: There is no way that Street Lawyer is Grisham's best work. The Firm, The Partner, and The Runaway Jury all put this piece of rubbish to shame. The story is unbelieveable to the point that it made me nauseous. Also, there wasnt any real climax. I kept getting towards the last few pages, and wondering when something was going to happen. Nothing ever did. Unfulfilling, undramatic, unreadable. John Grisham is a great writer, but this one was not good.

Summary: Best Yet
Review: I loved this latest John Grisham novel. I always enjoy Grisham's work and have a hard time waiting between publications. The Firm was my first encounter with his style of writing and I have enjoyed them all. This is by far my favorite Grisham book to date. Whether you enjoy this as much as I did depends on your perspective. If you enjoy "feel good" stories with generally happy endings and nice messages you will also love this book. If you are looking for numerous plot twists and surprises you will be disappointed.

Summary: This was Grisham's most brillant idea!
Review: The Street Lawyer was Grisham's best book! It was timely compelling and riveting. Grisham is an absolute master. He is at his plot-driven best! This time John Grisham writes about the often forgotten topic of the homeless and makes it into a master piece!

Summary: Started out great, but it lost steam
Review: I loved the first couple of chapters. They were engaging, and presented us with a good setup. Unfortunately, the book goes into a "Help the poor, Destroy the big firms, Be an all-around good guy" type ranting, which lost my interest quite rapidly. If the main character wants to be ambivalent about his position and go out and help people, fine. Just don't write a propagandist book about it.

Summary: An author of many styles
Review: Whether you enjoyed this book or not I think depends largely on your belifs and culture. John Grisham is a talented author capable not only of endings with a twist but also of soul searching and heartwarming stories. It is after all that's what it's all about-stories- and they shouldn't be taken on a personal level. The Runaway Jury wasn't meant to encourage you to smoke smoking any more than The Testament was meant to convert you into a believer. They are story plots. And Grisham is extremely clever to come up with a different one everytime.

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: This book tells a wonderful story, while making a strong case for social change in Washington. The characters are honest and the problems real. This is an absolute must-read. My favorite book!

Summary: I am now a fan!
Review: THE STREET LAYWER is the first John Grisham book I have read, and I can say that I am now a fan and will continue to read his books. THE STREET LAYWER is a great book that contains a great message for and about humanity. This book made me think more seriously about a very crucial topic in our day--the homeless. I appreciate both, John Grisham and his remarkable talent in producing his yarns. I can't wait to pick up the next Grisham! Concrning THE STREET LAYWER, who ever said a best-seller can't contain a moral message? Read this one.

Summary: Too Slow
Review: I have read most of John Grishams books except the Testament. I felt the street lawyer was not at his regular pace of his previous books. The theme was quite good but there was nothing to look for, no suprises anywhere in the book. Once he mentioned the plot in the beginning, nothing new happened

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of a kind.
Review: Few books that compell you to do good also uplift you. This book did both. It made you feel like you should do more to help out the human race, but at the same time it made you feel good about the people who already are helping. The sentence structure may not have been the best, and the wording may not win Grisham any awards, but the emotion behind this story makes up for what the book lacks in grammar.
