Rating: Summary: Great Review: The reintroduction of her lover made this book rather weak. Although the precision with which PC describes an autopsy is amazing and her lnowledge of mental disorders associated with killers is impecable. Great book!
Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: I really enjoyed this book. It was the first book I read by Cornwell and she hooked me! I would definately recommend it
Rating: Summary: Not as good as other books in series, very poor ending. Review: All that remains is a typical Patricia Cornwell book, with intrigue, intresting characters, and intense action. But the actual storytellinng and concept of this book is hard to follow, and sometimes seems to be missing important details. The ending is very melodramitic, and frankly dissapointing for me
Rating: Summary: Best Scarpetta book yet Review: I have read 4 of the Scarpetta books and find this the best
yet. You never really know who did it until the very end and
even then you are not sure. Scarpetta books are the best.
I hope Patricia continues to churn out at least one a year,
otherwise I will have nothing to read!
Rating: Summary: it's ok if you have not read any other cornwell book Review: predictable style...every novel involves computer language, too repetitive.....we all know she drives a Mercedes. Hold back on the Italian recipies. Otherwise, a reasonable read
Rating: Summary: One of my absolute favorite Scarpettas Review: A serial killer dubbed by the media as "The Couple Killer" is kidnapping young couples, murdering them and leaving their bodies to decompose where they aren't discovered until Hunting season begins. This is one of my favorite Scarpetta novels. Any positive adjective you can come up with, I used it when I finished this book. I've read this book several times, and it's just as good the third and fourth time as it was the first. Patricia Cornwell once again proves why she is crime fiction's highest selling, most accomplished writer.
Rating: Summary: Very good book, really Review: I dont know what's all the bad rap about this book, as I've seen in a few reviews below. It's a solid Cornwell novel. And please, as much as I love medicine and pathology novels, it's nice to see the Medical examiner snoop around, and do stuff, rather than sit in the lab all day. I wish the ending was longer, because the whole story was pretty heavy duty. I like to see the whole action unfold even more. Overall, another great read, dont miss it. Not to give things away, but the murderer isn't caugh on pure luck, as someone said below. All the investigating pays off, and I enjoyed the moment ( at the end) when I figured out who it was.
Rating: Summary: All That Remains Review: Powerful, mysterious, suspenseful: these are all words that describe the book "All That Remains." In this book, the main character is the chief medical examiner for the police department. But when she starts finding clues on victims' bodies, she and some of her fellow cops try to figure out a baffling case of a serial killer, but the killer knows that they're on his tail. Patricia D. Cornwell does an excellent job of describing feelings, people, places, crime scenes, everything. Although the plot is great, she does get a little bit graphic when she is explaining what the killer does and what he has done. So I would recommend this book to jr. high school and high school students, and adults. Now it's your turn to try to figure who the killer is. Go read "All That Remains."
Rating: Summary: Kay Scarpetta is a very interesting character! Review: I enjoyed this novel and thought it was one of the best books in the series.
Rating: Summary: FANTASTIC - AS GOOD AS I REMEMBER! Review: Every few years I like to re-read the early Patricia Cornwell novels (luckily, after 6 or 7 years I never quite remember the ending!). This one about a serial killer murdering couples in the Williamsburg/Richmond area of Virginia is one of the very best.
A few days after reading the book, the only problem I have is that I can't quite connect the dots in terms of how the case was solved. Without giving it away, there was one "lucky break" (very lucky) and then perhaps too much luck or coincidence in leading to the perpetrator.
I also have mixed feelings about the character development of the Kay Scarpetta. In this book, in particular, I keep thinking I was getting more information about her personal life and personal vulnerability than I needed.
However, the book is truly gripping and well researched. It gives the bonus of providing a lot of information into forensic science. One of the best medical thrillers I have read.
