Summary: LOVE IT
Review: I first read this book years ago and have read it several times since. This is one of my favorites that I will always have in my collection of books. It spans several chiefs over several decades and doesn't lose your interest once and what and ending. I highly recommend this book! Enjoy!

Summary: It's so damn good!
Review: I got Chiefs after reading all the Amazon 5-star reader reviews. Usually, I'd walk on by a book about small town Georgia cops, never imagining it could be this enthralling. The author is masterful at drawing the reader into this little world; I found myself talking out loud to the characters. He doesn't rely on the graphic gore and language of the typical modern shock thriller, hence making the terror more real. What makes the southern authors so good!? This belongs with "Gone With the Wind" and "The Prince of Tides." As a serial killer story, it belongs with the best of Lawrence Sanders.

Summary: I could not rest until I had finished this book!
Review: I had seen the tv mini-series several years ago and liked it very much. When I started reading Chiefs, parts of it came back to me (the mini-series was extremely similar) but I was still held in suspense. Once in a while a book comes along that I can't stop thinking about even when I'm not free to read--I can't wait to get back to it. This is one of those books. There are several characters and plots all leading into one major plot; yet, it never gets confusing or boring. This is one of the best books I have read in a long time.

Summary: Warning!
Review: I have great news and bad news. The great news is that the book is superb! The bad news is that the print is so small in this edition that it's almost unreadable. We're talking TINY! Spring for the hardback or buy a magnifying glass.

Summary: One of the best
Review: I just finished reading "Chiefs" for the second time. It is one of the best mysteries of all time. Stewart Woods' mastery of character development shines brightly in this one. (Many of the characters form his later novels come from this book.) His depiction of a small southern town is right on the money. Be sure you have some spare time before you start it, because you won't be able to put it down!

Summary: 40 Years of Mis-Chief!
Review: I liked how the story evolved over 4 decades. It was like being part of the town of Delano and witnessing the events.

One story you will think about after it's over.

Summary: Is There a Video available?
Review: I really loved the book and would like to get ahold of the video if it is available. Has anyone found a copy and if so, where can I get one?

Summary: Still the Best
Review: I've read many of Woods books. This is the best and since it was the first, you can see the loving care that went into the writing. Too bad Woods sold out and is just turning out potboilers now!

Summary: The video is out there
Review: I've read this book many times, spurred by the release of the mini-series, which was also excellent. I could swear that I watched this video several years ago (as a rental from a video store)....it must be out there somewhere, right? If anyone should be able to get it, Amazon should.

I would highly recommend this novel as one of Wood's best (and earliest)...while his later books are good, this one is exceptional. Like John Sanford, he knows that above all, story is everything.

Summary: Looking for Video?
Review: My fiance has rave reviews about this book. I am also looking for the video of its television series, if anyone has any ideas where to look.
