Summary: Excellent Read!
Review: Loved this book. I have all of their books so far and this one is just as good as the rest!

Summary: I could not put this book down.
Review: Preston and Child really know how to take the reader on a roller coaster ride. I finished this book in a couple of days...mainly because I found it extremely difficult to put down. At the end of each chapter, I wanted to keep reading so I could find out what happened next. These two are becoming a couple of my favorite authors.

The biohazard novel is nothing new. However, these two authors have managed to transform it into a gripping, realistic story. They are similar to Michael Crichton in that they take actual science, stretch the bounds of reality a little, and come up with something so believable that it's scary. The story they've crafted around the science is a wonder to read. The characters are believable, the story is gripping, and the climax is fulfilling. I would recommend this book to anybody who's into science thrillers or action movies.

Summary: MOUNT DRAGON IS A MOUNTAIN HIGH OF A BOOK
Review: This book is totally riveting and it is a dare- you- to- put- it- down bio thriller. If you like bio/high tech thrillers, then this book is good as it gets. I have put Mount Dragon in my home library. DP and LC always provide the best in a good suspense story. I think you will not be disappointed.

Enough said here and enjoy. Their next novel is THE ICE LIMIT; it comes out July 2000. I read a preview chapter on their DP & LC web site. Its going to be a good one !

Summary: Solid techno-thriller
Review: This is another good effort by Preston and Child. The killer virus plot is nothing new, but it is done well here, as the the incidents continue to escalate in intensity, cranking up the suspense. Most of the characters are interesting, although a little one-dimensional, as the story is more plot driven. The book is paced well, with the first part setting up the story, the second part building events up to a head, and the third part more action oriented racing to the conclusion. One criticism would be the trite romantic encounter towards the end between Carson and de Vacca that was all too predictable, but really not necessary. A second criticism would be the virtual reality bonanza at the end that was kind of cool, but not alltogether believable. If you are a fan of this kind of book, or a fan of Preston amd Child, you will enjoy Mount Dragon.

Summary: a little too close to home
Review: This book was very well written and even though I ,personally, didn't like it as much as "The Relic", it was very involved and technical thus making it extremely beleivable. I live just a hop, skip, and a jump from the CDC and it scares me to think that some of the things mentioned in this book could, and may be happening. It is a slow reading book , in my opinion, but only due to the amount of information given about the projects, buildings etc., which help make the book what it is. Definetly a good book to sit down with when you have lots of time on your hands. It would be better if you were to read it all in one sitting (easier to follow). Check it out.

Summary: A Good Page Turner
Review: I really liked this book. The thought of manipulating dangerous viruses to create truly world ending strains is scarry. Besides the science there is a small bit of history and Spanish instruction thrown in.

The descriptions of what happens in virtual cyber space are phenominal. However, I felt that the plot of the book seemed to go a little overboard toward the end. Otherwise I would have rated this 5 stars.

Summary: Mount Dragon
Review: I thought this book was great, and I loved the technical bits about gene therapy, etc. If you are interested in a great, eerily exciting new-guy-beats-the-system-solves-the-mystery-and-gets-the-girl-too thriller, buy this right now. There is one rather confusing spot that involves a hallucination of sorts in the desert. Otherwise, a fantastic, thrilling read.

Summary: So-so story. They've done better
Review: This book was a tad dry for my taste. There was a little too much focus on chemistry for my taste so unfortunately, those parts of the book -- which were significant -- bored me. The book does have it good points -- some of the characters are interesting, and some of the scenes keep your attention, but in sum, it all adds up to an average read. These authors have done better.

Summary: Excellent - Take this book on a long plane trip.
Review: That way you will be able to read it without stopping. Child & Preston have put together an great story.

Summary: Another Great Read!
Review: I have read all of these guys books(except Thunderhead) and have loved every one of them! Pick this one or Riptide and you will keep the light on late into the night. Both books are well researched and tingle with tension and excitement on every page. I didn't want this one to end!
