Review: I have read all of the "Prey" series....CERTAIN PREY tops my list....especially like the humor Lucas Davenport displays in this book; John Sandford has outdone himself. Hated for this book to end. (I hope we're talking sequel here)

Summary: Sandford still gets "5 Stars" from me....
Review: I always anxiously await for another Lucas Davenport book to arrive - only disappointment I have is when I read it so quickly! Sanford still shows suspense in his stories! I enjoy following the "life" of Davenport and hope Lucas continues in the next books and that he doesn't approach retirement too soon! I did find the character, Carmel Loan, a little awkward - a smart prosecutor getting so deeply sucked into the life of crime didn't seem right. Suddenly having no regard for human life didn't seem to follow. Enjoyed Clara Rinker, but wouldn't expect her to return to Minneapolis any time too soon. Great book! Wish Sandford could write & publish as quick as I can read them! Great summer reading!

Review: Much better than the last outing (Secret Prey) which was a little off. These two female dynamoes are interesting, a lot of fun and keep the book moving.

Summary: Thumbs Down. Not worth the money. Boring and flimsy.
Review: As usual John Sandford writes another very ordinary novel with borrowed plots and a lousy miscast of flimsy and boring charaters. Clara Rinker should move to Manila and become an action startlet. She should leave Lucas Davenport alone for he seems to be the only one who made this book a little interesting. Try harder, John.

Review: Certain Prey was just as engrossing as the previous books in the Davenport series. I could almost feel sorry for Clara. The surprise ending opens up a whole new line for future stories in the "Prey" series. Can't wait for the next one.

Review: As usual John Sandford writes an extraordinary novel with a wonderful plot and a great cast of characters. I am sure that Clara Rinker will be back soon to try to finish off Lucas Davenport. Keep up the good work John!

Summary: Everything you could ask for in a suspense thriller...
Review: The main character, Clara Rinker is a top-notched hit woman diva. Lucas Davenport is at his usual best. I loved this book from the very first page. Once I started I couldn't stop until I read the last page. Everything fit, time lines, evidence trails. I can't wait for the next Prey thriller.

Summary: Disappointing! Davenport deserves better!
Review: As a John Sandford fan, I found this book to be a little thin on plot, thinner on character development, and clearly an effort that John Sandford "mailed in." The other books in the series crackled with tension, suspense and excitment -- Certain Prey certainly fizzled. Clara Rinker and Carmel Loan could have been electric, much like Becker and Carlos (?) in two of the other Prey books (titles escape me at the moment!), but the desire wasn't there on the part the author -- although I hope Clara will be back for another go 'round with Lucas. It would be nice to flesh out her character a little more. But I'll wait for paperback for that one -- Certain Prey has cured me of buying hardcovers! Overall, this book was almost as disappointing as the casting of Eriq LaSalle as Davenport in the TV movie.

Review: I read every single Davenport book and loved them all. The story was weak. The two females were ridiculous. There was NO suspense. NO staying up all night (I actually fell asleep reading it). I'll wait for the next one, hopefully it will be better.

Summary: Just as engaging as the other 'Prey' novels.
Review: Davenport is a little older, and a tad more laid back in the latest entry to the 'Prey' series, but he's no less entertaining. Sandford creates two new and intriguing villians in Carmen and Clara that will keep you laughing and in utter shock all at the same time. There is more dialogue and detailed character description of the villains than I remember in previous 'Prey' books, and that really added to the overall flavor of the novel. I found myself feeling almost, and I do mean almost, sympathetic to Clara. Carmen, however, is the epitome of evil. Although Lucas has aged and evolved over the course of the Prey novels, he is his same old self hunting these women down. If you enjoyed the previous 'Prey' books, you'll love this one too.
