Summary: Murder & Mayhem in Minneapolis (and St. Paul)
Review: Start up with two dead Roman Catholic bodies in a RC pew in rural Northern Wisconsin. The deceased couple were worth over $7 million, but left it all to THE LUTHERANS! Flash over to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where people are dying, well, like, victims in a video game.

What do these dastardly deeds have in common? You will want to read this fast-paced debut mystery/thriller by the mother/daughter team of P.J. and Tracy Lambert (pseudonym P.J. Tracy - get it?) to find out. It's a taut, well-characterized, rapid ride that makes my SLEEP? Who needs SLEEP? Page turners- all night long List. It is also often humorous and astute: Gino stared at the group with the dull disbelief of a World War II Vet suddenly transported to Woodstock. Reviewed by TundraVision, Azon Reviewer

Summary: Better Than Sandford??
Review: best mystery-thriller I've ever read (of 300-400 books read
per year); possibly better than Sandford series although it's
a little too close in main chars-location in early stages;
good background, almost a menu of strong chars, and a standup
ending; hard to believe a thriller could be better

Summary: A great page turner
Review: Being a full time student, employee, mother, spouse, and pet owner I have little time for reading during most of the year. June and July are the months that I catch up on all my summer reading averaging a book a week...

I finished this book in just a few days. I could not put it down! In light of the debates surrounding video games this book just adds fuel to the fire...however these characters actually have backbones, intelligence, and consciences. The plot development is thorough and rich; and the authors take you where they want you to go!

I can usually anticpate the ending - but this one...this one, I didn't see coming!

Again, a great summer read - one that will leaving you turning the pages and rooting for all the characters to solve the mystery! Get it and enjoy it! You won't regret doing so :)

I can't wait until their next book!!!

Summary: CAN'T-STOP-LISTENING-TO DEBUT THRILLER
Review: Veteran stage actor Buck Schirner presents a high paced, stylized reading of this can;t-stop-listening-to debut thriller.

It begins with a grabber: double murders simply do not happen in a sleepy Wisconsin community, nonetheless, the crime did occur - two elderly parishioners were shot while praying in a small Catholic church. This is the first homicide in five years for Sheriff Michael Halloran.

During his initial investigation of the case there is a shocking tragedy. Even if he were not shaken Halloran would never dream that these double killings will be linked with murders in Minneapolis. Nor does he realize the powers of deputy Sharon Mueller who aims to be a full fledged part of this investigation and Halloran's life.

Grace McBride is beautiful, unapproachable, and lives in a house protected like Fort Knox. She has a past that haunts her every waking hour, and is surrounded by the oddest assortment of characters to grace a page. Outre' they may be, but they're also brilliant. Together with Grace they make up Monkeewrench, a software company that has devised a computer game.

Rapidly becoming popular in Minneapolis and environs the game is basically the challenging search for a murderer. Players follow a series of made-up murders and clues to catch a psychopathic killer. Art imitates life in a horrific way when someone begins to copy the game in real life.

By the time detectives Leo Magozzi and Gino Rolseth become aware that this is happening three people are already dead, and there are 17 more episodes on line. When word of this is leaked to the press the city is wracked with fear - there are 17 more possible victims.

One of the first to come under Magozzi's scrutiny is Grace McBride. He is both perplexed and attracted - stumped when he discovers that Grace and her crew had assumed new identities some years before. Compounding this mystery is the fact that the FBI is tight lipped about why the new identities were given.

Listen carefully as the pieces of this puzzle begin to fall neatly together.

Summary: This Should be Rated 10 Stars
Review: This book has already been reviewed by others but I want to add my recommendation. I read over 60 mystery series and the fact that Monkeewrench was a debut novel by this writing team just amazes me. I loved the characters and the pace of the book made me want to forget work and sleep until I finished. The surprises just kept coming at the end. Hopefully, another book is in the works and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

Summary: Great mystery, held me till the very end
Review: This gruesome mystery kept me flipping pages well into the early hours of the morning. I can't wait for the authors to put out their next mystery. If you like good mysteries you'll like this. If you like John Sandford types of mysteries, you'll love this

The cast of charcters is so well written, along with a constantly twisting plot keeps you turning the pages. I recommened this book highly!

Summary: A fast-paced mystery-thriller with sudden twists
Review: P. J. Tracy's Monkeewrench is a chilling audiobook about a software company that creates computer game about solving murder mysteries. Yet when a serial killer starts duplicating the murders depicted in the game, it becomes a race against time to identify the killer and his potential targets, while unraveling a mysterious web of schemes and brutal motives which are threatening the game's developers. Superbly read by Buck Schirner, Monkeewrench is enthusiastically recommended as a fast-paced mystery-thriller with sudden twists and unexpected turns galore. 4 cassettes, 6 hours.

Summary: What an Incredible Debut
Review: It isn't often that I'm blown away by a first novel, but I'm making an exception with this one. The keen balance the authors strike between horrifying events and ordinary human feelings -- including a light repartee and a slightly skewed take on personal relationships -- is pretty remarkable. I hope they are well on their way to rolling out a second novel; if not, I'd take them out for drinks and expect to have a grand old time.
