Summary: Brilliant but..........
Review: Have never been a Grisham fan until I listened to the audio version of a 'Time to Kill' which convinced me to take another look at this writer. Again I purchased the audio version and throughly enjoyed it from the grasping, obnoxious kin to the pathetic would be hero. The descriptive passages of the journey were excellent and extremely informative about an area of which I was woefully ignorant. Having said all that I was dreadfully disappointed by the ending, I felt it bottomed out and that he just wrapped it up in too neat of a package with no loose ends. Conspicuoisly convenient all the way round which was such a shame for the end of such an enjoyable book. A good read that could have been better

Summary: This is without a doubt my favorite of Grisham's books.
Review: The descriptive paragraphs and the "hold your breath" moments were so spellbinding. I loved it and didn't want the book to end...and I couldn't have written a better ending even though I wanted to.

Summary: FANTASTIC!! WONDERFUL!! PHENOMENAL!!
Review: I ordered two books from Amazon to read over my two week vacation this summer. One was, 'The TESTAMENT' and the other was, 'THE FIST OF GOD' by A.T. Nicholas. Grisham's Testament was fantastic and simply well written. I found it smooth and engaging with every turn of the page. The ending wasn't as strong as I expected, but it's still a wonnderful and great read. 'The Fist of God' by A.T. Nicholas was phenomenal. A great good vs evil storyline set in the middle of a presidential campaign. The plot unfolds through the eyes of a homicide detective, who becomes a reluctant participant in the bloody battle for power and souls. Nicholas writes just as well as Grisham, but different. Two great novels. Highly recommended!

Summary: Impossible to put down
Review: Two years ago I have read my first book in English. That was Grisham's "The Rainmaker". Since than I have read and re-read all his books. As all other books written by Grisham, "The Testament" puts you into fantastic journey. I have read it in three days. And what is the most important, John Grisham does not show you a Hollywood-type Superman who kills everybody around him. His hero is a real man, who struggles against his own habbits and wins that the most hard battle in the world.

The book is worth every second of reading.

Summary: Great Book not so great ending
Review: The characters are great, the story is tremend, everything seems perfect, but I expected a more controversy ending from Grisham.. anyway a great book , READ IT.

Summary: Highly recommended and worthwhile
Review: A terrific book, not ashamed to treat religion and values seriously. The Phelans represent what can happen when enormous wealth is not accompanied by maturity and responsibility. Nate O'Reilly's humanness evokes sympathy and empathy, and I found myself cheering him on every step of the way. I loved the ending! A book truly worth reading--a real page turner--NOT filled with sex and violence. Thank you, John Grisham!

Summary: Joseph Conrad is spinning!
Review: Boy, does this book stink. Grisham has lost his touch and is just going through the motions to crank out cash. He insults his audience. Heart of Darkness meets The Man In Full. What a disappointing meeting. Save your money and your time.

Summary: Flat, silly and dull
Review: Grisham has been going down hill for some time now, it seems to me, and this is a new low. Silly, corney characters, a rather childish plot and some really dreadful writing. No more Grisham for me.

Summary: "The Testament" is quite a disappointment.
Review: I have to admit that I'm a big Grisham fan. But "The Testament" is a big disappointment. I found myself turning the pages for the sake of finishing the book (having already bought it). It started out promisingly enough, but as the story progressed, it slowly borders on silliness. Imagine a multi-million dollar law firm sending a drunk into a South-American jungle on a case that could potentailly be worth millions-very clever... If you absolutely must have this book in your Grisham collection, wait for the paperback. Otherwise, wait and hope that his next wouldn't be so bad.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: The book is mediocre for a John Grisham Novel.
Review: Most of John Grisham's novels have a certain level of danger present throughout the plot. His latest novel however, lacks real danger and the the plot twists that usually hurtle a reader through one of Grisham's legal thrillers. The only danger that the main character is ever in is when he catches a jungle disease. Usually, Grisham's characters are being chased by the mob or trying to avoid going to jail. There is not any emminent danger present in the novel. The novel is simply about a man trying to tack down a woman and give her money that she does not want.
