Summary: A must-read!!!!
Review: I loved this book from the very beginning. I'm a big fan of grisham, and this was definitely not a dissappointment. I can't see how anyone could not enjoy this story.

Summary: My first dissapointment in a John Grisham book.
Review: I am a major fan of John Grisham books but this one was a real disappointment. Did not keep me gripped to my seat as his past novels have and I have read every single one of them. I found myself wanting to skip past the in-depth and tedious descriptions of some very boring subject matter. All I can surmise is that he was under a book deadline and just kind of spit this thing out haphazardly. When I got to the end I thought at first that maybe I was missing some pages, that there should have been more, but alas, no. Hope the next one is much better. I do however still look forward to the next one.

Summary: It could've been better
Review: The beginning of the book takes your breath away. The discription of the Panatal and Brazilian forests aree wonderful. But the story is too short to be one. It reeally becomes boring. The ending comes very quickly, measured to the rest of the story.

Summary: You will be surprised by how much you enjoy this book
Review: I began The Testament at 11:30 PM on Wednesday night thinking that I would read myself to sleep. At 5:30 AM I finally had to put the book down and napped for a few hours before class. After class on Thursday morning I dashed home and finished the book. I have also read The Pelican Brief, A Time to Kill, The Street Lawyer, and The Firm. In my opinion The Testament is better than all of those books except perhaps The Firm, which was also really good.

Summary: AWESOME!!!!
Review: This was the first John Grisham novel that I have ever read. Although I usually am not interested by books with mystery or intrigue, I must admit this book was delightfully intriguing. I am a paralegal so the legal facet of this book was quite interesting to me. Great book and I now intend to read Mr. Grisham's earlier work.

Summary: Excellent description of live in Brasil
Review: Excellent description of the Pantanal and the Brazilian way-of-live. It was just my second risham book after The Streetlawyer, but I enjoyed it very much. Just the end is a bit fast comming, so I was disappointed by it. In all i recommend this book to everyone who whants to start reading with Grishams works

Summary: another "can't put it down" book of Grisham's!
Review: After depriving myself of another good Grisham read because of the critics' reviews, I finally got the book after several friends and relatives raved about it. I was leery of the South American section but in true Grisham style, it was fascinating (he doesn't get lost in descriptions of the countryside but very smoothly provides his readers with "visuals" as they're following the actions of the main characters). Grisham is a master storyteller. Disregard the critics and enjoy another John Grisham winner.

Summary: His best book by far!!!
Review: I have read every Grisham novel and this by far is the best I have read. It is however, not his usual New Orleans based novel, but wow!!! What a great book. I have two small children, so my time is very limited. I finished the book in three days, I couldn't put is down. You can't go wrong with this book.

Summary: He has done it again!!!!!!!!!
Review: In this book, John Grisham takes us to a part of the world which many of us haven't even heard of, but after reading this book we feel like we lived there... The story itself is just great: Money, hatred, love, religion... everything is involved. A great book worth reading, John Grisham has done it again!!!!!!!

Summary: Yucky!
Review: I haven't read Grisham's books for a few years, so I was probably 12 or 13 when I read the likes of "The Firm." I loved his books back then, but I found this to be generally a boring book. It's written for a reader with below-average intelligence or reading skills, the characters (mostly the heirs) are flat and boring, it's WAY too long. Besides some interesting parts (like in Brazil), it's generally just not that good. If I'm reading a book I really like, I'll finish it in a few days. But this book took me almost a month, not because it's hard, but because it almost felt like a chore. I wanted to finish it, but I didn't really want to sit down and plow through it, after about the third day. Don't waste your time. And that Publisher's Weekly review is dead wrong. If he's following in the footsteps of Dickens, the world is a sad place.
