Summary: Pretty Good
Review: As with all of Grisham's books he starts well and manages to keep your attention to what is essentially a predictable conclusion.

The first two chapters hooked me, with his effective writing style. The story maintains my attention with careful precision without ever being brilliant.

The characters are the strength of this novel. You get to love them and loathe them.

In short, you keep reading, now that can't be a bad thing can it?

Summary: Greed and more Greed
Review: This book was great. I couldn't put it down. The storyline could actually happen in real life. What shocking ending.

Summary: True to his style
Review: This books was what I expected it to be. When I read Grisham, I have an expectation that I will like the book. Once again he did not fail me. His characters jump off the page; like or hate them, you at least feel them. While most are critical about the ending, and I admit I would have liked 'more', I think Grisham weaved his magic once again. He wants us to come back for more. "More" defined by him would not be a sequel; just another Grisham novel!

Summary: Exciting book with a terrible ending
Review: The book itself was excellent, and has an interesting story line to work off of. It was the usual good, exciting John Grisham read. The ending was terrible! It gave me the impression that Mr. Grisham has perhaps gotten bored of the story and just wanted to finish it up as quickly as possible! But, all in all, it was worth reading once--and ONLY once.

Summary: Could have been shorter
Review: This book could have been 125 pages shorter. The middle chapters seem to be self-indulgent. Sharing with the reader the excruciating details of the undeveloped portions of South America - as if he just came back from an expedition and wanted to share everything that happened. The overall concept was interesting. I just skimmed through the chapters describing the landscape and inhabitants in order to get on with the story.

Summary: Catchy and Uplifting
Review: I think John did a tremendous job in relating real life to story. Its true that not all heros are that perfect. In his book, Nate is such an example, a man who has an alcoholic problem and made a mess of his own life. His book is also entertaining and is really a page flipper. His vivid description of the scene in the jungles of Brazil also illustrates that Mr John Grishman had indeed does him homework. Bravo!

Summary: I love this book and hate the ending
Review: I loved this book. I love how john grisham relates everything to everyday life. I love how Nate finally gets over his addictions after meeting Racheal. It shows that he really does have character. the ending however is bad. He didn't leave enough info for us to get through the book and process it. Does the IRS get Nate? Does he have a relationship with his children? What happens to the children? I think that John needs to write an epilogue to this story. He can't write a sequal because too much of the story line is in the first book.

Summary: The Testament
Review: I was very pleased with this effort by Grisham. His books are rarely a "deep" read, but are fun and engaging. The Testament fills this profile well. Good escapist reading... hard to put down.. a couple days and late nights of entertainment.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Another anti- climatic Grisham ending
Review: I keep giving a Grisham novel another chance to revive my hope that I one again will be entralled, like i was with, A Time To Kill, The Firm even with The Partner, but AGAIN, i am dissappointed, Actually the book wasnt so bad, it had an interesting concept, a exotic locale (Brazil), but ANOTHER uneventful, boring ending.

Summary: Don't buy if...
Review: I love to read, but yet I was extremely unsatisfied with this book. It was the worst book I ever read. It was quite boring, no action worth reading, and based on money. If you really like legal stuff and money based books then this book is for you. But if you are in for a good read, thrill, and action, don't buy and waste your money.
