Summary: I loved this book
Review: The Testament was a great book, in my opinion. Like all Grisham books the start was better than the finish. The end was rushed, but isn't it always. I would hope everyone would read this on. One of Grisham's finest.

Summary: Average
Review: Average Grisham. Not much more to say. His books all seem pretty much the same. In this case, the best part of the book is the first couple of chapters, after that it's downhill.

Summary: Read This Novel!
Review: "The Testament" is indeed a very compelling novel! The plot is truly gripping and Grisham's vivid descriptions allow the reader to clearly imagine the scenes and the various characters. For me, the way in which the book switched between scenes in corportate, civilised Washington DC and the wilderness of the rainforest - the two being related by someone of interesting character - provided excellent reading. The novel successfully looks at issues concerning readers: religion, wealth, honesty, corruption et cetra. I thoroughly recommend you read this book! A perfect embodiment of a legal thriller and action adventure! Go read it!

Summary: John Grisham turns preacher
Review: I think John Grisham has decided to use his fame to preach to his readership so we all are "saved". If that is what you want, go to church because the story isn't worth it. It lacks the excitement and suspense of his other novels. The story is about a man just out of rehab who is sent to the jungle to find a missionary who leads him to God. He then proceeds to change his life and the story preaches to you over and over. Not at all on par with his other books.

Summary: a dead book
Review: an old guy jumping out of the window seems to be the only interesting character in the book, it would be better that the other characters were looking for the window to jump out of. The story we have seen before in second rate novels, it isn't gripping at all, you wonder all the time why you read this book. A pity because Grisham was a good read up to now.

Summary: Interesting Story
Review: The Testament, overall, is a rather good book but it wasn't as entertaining as the others. You should like this book if you are a Grisham fan, but if you aren't then only if you are a jungle fan you might like it.

Think of The Testament as this: a drunk man who peddals down the jungle looking for some missionary woman with the Indians. He finds her. She doesn't want the money. And, as expected, all the legal stuff comes in, then the end.

Be prepared to read this book nonstop for some time, because that's what usually happens with Grisham books. That is basically the difference between him and others. His books are entertaining to some extent. But some people think he doesn't write well, but what is the definition of "writing well"? Everyone has their own opinions, but I think his writing is logical and candid, and ultimately that's what sets him apart. As I said before, everyone is entitled to their opinions.

Summary: Hard to put down page turner
Review: In my opinion, The Testament was one of the best John Grisham novels I've read since "A Time to Kill." Sure, there were a lot of characters to keep track of and confusing circumstances surrounding them, but my main focus was on the novel's central character, Nate O'Reilly. He was everything you would find interesting in a character. Grisham really did his research before writing this novel as well, because during the part of the novel where Nate was in Brazil, the Amazon and the tribal Indians had me spellbound. It's as if I were there myself. Very Gripping!

Review: Simply an intriguing book that you will not easily be able to put down!

Summary: awful
Review: One of the worst books I have ever read. Aimless, ridiculous and uninteresting story line. I am a big fan of his but this book was terrible, skip it.

Summary: THIS WAS A GREAT STORY
Review: This was a quick read for me. I loved this story. I get the feeling Mr Grisham is trying to branch out in other the directions in this story. What a grand idea for the character to show a more human face. The main charcter look for the daughter of a recently died Troy Phelan; a self-made billionaire. But get this, the daugther does not want her money. She chooses to give her life to God and walk away from the mordern world and .... You got to read it for yourself. This is a remarkable adventure. Score another one for JG. This is a sure 6 or 7 stars if possible. I wonder will the recently book release, The Brethren, be this good. In my book the PARTNER by JG is as good as the TESTAMENT.
