This book will not be Gone for Good it will say with you. His previous book Tell No One was the best mystery book i read in years so I was somewhat worried to read his newest book. Somehow this author has created 2 excellent who done it page turners. I started reading this book Saturday morning and did not put it down until I finished it. To me, that is the best adventure in reading I could ever wish for.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Good Read but..... Review: I became a Coben fan after reading "Tell No One". So "TNO" is my benchmark for greatness because I was hooked from chapter one and each subsequent chapter just added to the mystery. With "Gone for Good" the first chapter reveals the first twist but it then takes several chapters to develop characters and lay the groundwork for the 2nd half of the book but once it takes off, twists-a-plenty. Coben writes books that are easy to read, full of twists, emotion, and excitement. "Gone for Good" lives up to what I was expecting but didn't quit reach the peak of "Tell No One" in my opinion. I still finished the book in just two days because I couldn't put it down. Look for "Gone for Good" on the next list of Edgar Award nominees. I also recommend the Myron Bolitor series by Coben as well.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Way Too Good Review: This is why people love thrillers. First, there's a solid premise: Will's beloved brother, accused of murder and long gone, may be found again -- and may be innocent. Second, Coben ratchets up the plot on every page. Is Will's beloved brother really lost? And is he really beloved? Is the soulmate really his true love? What is she hiding? And third, the characters drive the story -- not the other way around. Every character has a secret. No one is who they seem to be. Every new piece of information gives you new insight -- always surprising, but always logical. Don't start reading until you're prepared not to stop. (And if you're lucky enough not to have read Tell No one yet, do that too.)
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Read this book! Review: This was my first Coben novel, and needless to say I was blown away. I couldn't stop turning the pages and believe me the plot took an unexpected turn every page. I can't wait to read his previous work. The plot revolves around Will Klein who can't catch a break. The only two women he has ever loved are murdered. His brother stands accused of killing his high school sweetheart and is an international fugitive. Will isn't sure of his brother's guilt or even if he's alive for that matter. Quite often what seems to be true is not. Each plot twist will keep you reeling. Read it. You'll love it.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: It's deja vu all over again Review: I wish Coben would go back to his Myron Bolitar series. Having read Tell No One and found it passable, I looked forward to Coben's next attempt at non-serial fiction with Gone for Good. However, after reading Gone for Good, I'm wondering if we have another series going here. In Tell No One, the hero's wife disappears...is she dead? Yes? No? Maybe? In Gone for Good, the hero's brother disappears....is he dead? Yes? No? Maybe? Then the dutiful girlfriend disappears...is SHE dead? Yes? No? Maybe? Are the good guys good or bad? Is the FBI good or evil? Yes? No? Maybe? Do you see a trend here? Who will the hero of the third book in the series lose? His beloved dog, Scooter? Will Scooter be dead? Yes, no or maybe? And will the FBI be good or bad, and will the bad guys be truly bad or really kind of nice? Seriously, there was such little difference between this book and Coben's most recent one, Tell No One, that I was amazed that he got away with publishing both. Gone for Good is almost like an outtake reel of the previous book. The two plots are entirely too similar, the characters virtually identical, and the "bad guys" almost laughable. When The Ghost, a deadly assasin, sidled up to the hero at the airport with crumpled autopsy results explaining maternity based on gross anatomy, I had to laugh. I guess he had to get that point in somehow. Oh Myron, where have you gone?
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Not too good Review: I was unpleasantly surprised at this book because I waited so long after reading Tell No One, which I loved, for this to come out. My opinion is that the author has way too many characters in this book to keep track of. It became a chore to read while trying to remember who was who. It was fun however to read about Livingston, NJ as I am from West Orange! I'll still try his next one.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: His Best Yet Review: I thought Harlan Coben had reached the top of his game with Tell No One, I was wrong. Gone For Good is easily the best book I have read this year. This book has it all, great chracters, a strong plot, supense, twists, suprise ending. I highly recommend Gone For Good
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Miss Myron? Meet Will... Review: I have read and loved all of Harlan Coben's books. This is no exception. The plot races and the ending came as a total surprise. You may be able to figure out a few of the plot twists, but for the most part I was as clueless as Will. How can you not like a book that identifies a character as "probably male." I miss Myron, but Will and Squares are worthy substitutes!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: GONE FOR GOOD, Great Forever Review: I don't know how it is possible, but Harlan Coben just keeps getting better. Fresh off the heals of one of the best suspense mysteries of the year with TELL NO ONE, Coben kicks it up a notch with another smash hit. GONE FOR GOOD will have you flipping pages faster than sailors on shore leave. It is the story of Will Klein, a man who's first love was brutally murdered supposedly by his own brother who has been in hiding for eleven years. After his mother's death, he is led to believe that his brother is in fact innocent of the crime and is still alive. To confuse him more, the woman he is planning to marry disappears, leaving behind a trail of clues that make her the person she was not believed to be. This mystery has a plethora of plot twists that will keep you guessing and then second-guessing once you think you know what is going on. Coben creates a wonderful atmosphere with intricately diverse characters, each having his or her own story leading in a different direction, but he ties them up nicely throughout the book. This book has slightly more humor (not as much as the amazing Myron Bolitar series), which peppers the flow of the novel quite well. As in all Coben books, the dialogue makes the story, and that is no different here. Whether it is the witty banter between Squares and Will, or the laying-it-all-on-the-line passionate heartfelt emotion, you can't help but be intrigued by this book. With the edge of you seat suspense, thrilling mystery, good vs. evil, and passion-filled romance, this book truly has it all. GONE FOR GOOD is one wild ride!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The best yet Review: I was very upset over the news of Harlan Coben's decision to temporarily shelve the Bolitar series. They were the best of its kind. Two steps above the Parker Spencer series. But all was forgiven after I had read Tell No One. A book the I personally bought 5 copies of just to give to friends. This was simply the best mystery I have every read. Until now. I have just finished Gone for Good; please don't make the mistake of thinking the last few pages of the book just ties up loose ends. From start to finish this book rocks. No longer is Tell No One the best mystery I have ever read, its now second best to Gone for Good. The only problem is I now have to buy a bunch of additional copies for my friends, so they too can read the best mystery author of our times.
