Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Another finely written thriller from the master! Review: One of Harlan Coben's best!Once again he has wandered off into unchartered waters and has more than just succeeded..he has gone beyond success. A story line with many curves and bumps and side-tracks to distract, confound and yet please the reader. But...it is also a story line as taut as a tight-rope and fraught with both danger and despair. A family is pushed and pulled in so many directions, it is a wonder they can sustain the pressure. Brutal rape, seemingly senseless murder. One brother, Ken, accused of the crime and fleeing for many years until he is finally realized as dead by all. The other brother, Will; loyal and loving and seeking solutions to the many unanswered questions that he feels will exonerate Ken and make the family whole again. Then, out of the blue, the thunderclap of words from his dying mothers' lips....."Ken is alive!" From then on the reader is taken on the dangerously intriguing road...the one from which there is no return, the one that pulls you through the maze of lies, love, hate, deceit and treachery beyond imagining. Th stunning finsh conjured up by the forever creative, calculating mind of Harlan Coben will only reinforce that he is truly the master of prose and plot. Thank you Harlan, for yet another great read and hours of titillating enjoyment.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Better Than 5 Stars Review: This is quite simply one of the best books I have ever read. Character development is too the point and not overdone. The storyline is intriguing and it has normal people responding in normal ways, no superheroes here, nor are their supervillians. And oh did I mention it has the best ending I have ever read. If you like twists, we are talking corkscrew like twists, then this is your book. The Sixth Sense has nothing on this book. Anyone who reads his Myron books, trust me when I tell you, get this book. And anyone who doesn't read his Myron books, trust me when I tell you, get this book. You'll feel the same after having read it. Now if my family would just return my copy, it seems to be making it's rounds. Expect the same from your family, you'll be touting this book to them like it contains the secret to eternal life....... Review help - I enjoy Robert Crais, Stephen White, John Grisham, Micheal Connelly, and Ridley Pearson. If you enjoy these writers then you will definitely enjoy Coben. If you liked City Of Bones, L.A. Requiem, get Gone For Good. It's better.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Secrets, Lies, Betrayal, and Love..... Review: Three days before her death, my mother told me-these weren't her last words, but they were pretty close-that my brother was still alive..." So begins Harlan Coben's powerful and harrowing page-turner, Gone For Good. Narrated by Will Klein, the youngest son of a middle class New Jersey family, now working as the Director of Covenant House for runaway teens, he recounts the story of his popular and charismatic brother Ken, who eleven years ago vanished after being charged with the rape and murder of a neighborhood college girl. The Kleins always believed in his innocence, and after so much time passed without a word or clue, had come to the conclusion that Ken must be dead. This all changes when his mother's declaration sends Will on a search of the house where he finds a current picture of his brother hidden in his mother's bedroom. Now with the help of his girlfriend, Sheila, the love of his life, he's determined to find Ken, bring him back home, and clear his name. But his plan soon begins to unravel when Sheila disappears, and her fingerprints are found at a grisly murder scene two thousand miles away in New Mexico. With the help of Covenant House street friends, Will begins to connect the ghosts of the past with the puzzling events of the present, and uncovers secrets, lies, and betrayals that shake the very foundation of his family, and what they thought to be the truth..... Harlan Coben has done it again, written a suspenseful and compelling thriller that grabs you from page one and never lets go. This is a novel that has it all...an intricate story line full of twists, turns, and more than a few unexpected surprises; smart, clever, and eloquent writing with a real ear for dialogue; and intense, riveting, vivid scenes that set you on the edge of your seat and keep you there. But it's Mr Coben's original and marvelously well drawn cast of characters that makes this novel sparkle, and he is able to breathe life into even the most minor figures, and bring them to life on the page. With a stunning climax and very satisfying ending that ties up all the loose ends, Gone For Good is a roller coaster ride of a thriller that doesn't disappoint, and should definitely find its place at the top of mystery/thriller lovers "must read" lists.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Mesmerizing and Addictive Review: Not many novels can start strong, and keep the pace as well as this new addition from Harlan Coben. His stories spring to life so clearly, you almost believe these people exist in another place or time. Without giving any hints to the storyline, I'll tell you it's easy to read from front to back in two days. This coming from a mom of two toddlers who carried the book around and sneaked pages in between cleaning up sticky fingers and dirty diapers!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: HEART TUGGING SUSPENSE Review: I have only recently become a fan of Harlan Coben. I've read Darkest Fear, Tell No One, and Gone For Good. I had the hardest time putting this book down and finished within two days of practically nonstop reading. What a fabulous story line. So realistic and believable. I sincerely hope that the author follows up with a sequel as there are many stories left to pursue with the characters he has developed.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Harlan Coben Owes Me 4 Hours of Sleep!!!! Review: I absolutely, positively could NOT put this book down!! I could not leave these characters dangling in midair while I concerned myself with sleep!! From page 1 until the last page I was hooked--turning pages as fast as possible and growling at anyone who thought to interrupt me! Coben has done it again with the characters--Will, Squares, Sheila, the Ghost--each with his/her own personality quirks and unique voice. I love the fact that the father/son relationship is just as strong in this book as it is in his Bolitar series. That draws me closer to the main character and I was most definitely drawn to Will. The plot twists are extraordinary--one almost needs a map to keep up!! But just almost. Coben leads the reader through the maze of twists and turns like the master story teller he is. Now to get some sleep......
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: What's the fuss about Review: The characters are not believable. None of them. The hero is so weak one wonders how it is that two 'beautiful' women fell in love with him. Publishing has become a game of 'Names' and Hype. If you must read this book, do what I did. Get it from your local library. Thank me later...
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A GREAT MYSTERY! Review: Lots of twists and turn, and just when you think you've got it all figured out, Coban throws you another curveball. Definitely a worthwhile read!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I'll add my voice to the chorus, and simply say... Review: this is one great read! Why? 1) Riveting. Really scary. 2) Plot just keeps twisting and turning. 3) Different. 4) Believable. 5) Cared about the outcome. Liked young Will a lot, and truly felt for his family. There are about ten mystery and suspense writers whose books I snatch up as soon as they're published, and Harlan Coben is now one of them. Highly recommended.
