Summary: Baldacci's Best Yet!
Review: I've read Absolute Power and Total Control, both great books, but to me they seemed to have the same character structure that took something away from Total Control. But The Winner has a whole new cast of characters that you can really relate with, and kinda root for by the end of the book. This is my favorite book from Baldacci, I can't wait to read The Simple Truth

Summary: Every time I had to stop reading, I resented the intrusion.
Review: This was the first Baldacci book that I had read and I found it to be terrific. I felt like I was there in the story. The story is as exiting as Michael Connelly's and James Patterson's books. I look forward to reading more of Baldacci's books.

Summary: Enjoyed this book...
Review: This is the first book I've read of Baldacci. Enjoyed this book very much and I will read his other works now. A good and fast read.

Summary: I liked this book alot
Review: How can I put this without giving away the whole book? It is about a mysterious man that comes to a woman who is not having a good year, and tells her to use certain numbers on the lottery. Then the action begins.

Summary: Mostly boring and downright stupid!!
Review: A very long repetitous and insipid offering mostly unbelieveable bordering on outright silly- I wouldn't recommend this for anyone..

Summary: This book was riveting and kepy me on the edge.
Review: I found that the story line was one that I could believe. The fact that fixing the lottory and the detail behind keeping it secert made the mystery even more interesting. To create such a villian that had "it" all together for such along time shows how ingenious the arthor really is.

Summary: A good read, especially on holiday or an airplane
Review: Baldacci seems to be out of the same mould as John Grisham. The story is entertaining although perhaps a bit far-fetched. Nevertheless I enjoyed it and would recomend it to anyone.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great action that gets better and better
Review: Never, ever before in all the books I've read have I come across a character like Jackson. His meticulously detailed plots throughout the book will have you amazed. Just when you think you have him figured out, you'll be shocked at the end to read what he will do to accomplish his goals. He is the ultimate sinister plotter. Don't be fooled, winning the lottery isn't the most exciting part to this story.

Summary: An excellent, well-written book!
Review: I JUST finished reading "The Winner". I thoroughly enjoyed reading this hard covered edition. It was suspenseful enough that I had a hard time putting it down. It was predictable but sometimes you had to put your thinking cap on! He's a great writer, along with Grisham. I liked the character LuAnn Tyler. I am not sure why. She was intiguing with good morals...a good role model for any parent! I fell in love with Charlie and hated Jackson. Riggs, I liked him sometimes and felt sorry for him.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A masterful web of financial deception!
Review: As a first time Baldacci reader, what struck me most about "The Winner" was the intricacy and detail of a grand financial scheme. Who has not thought about winning the lottery? But Baldacci makes one think about the power and danger of money. It was a welcome change to see a heroine who was both intelligent and physically powerful. LuAnn did not need a knight in shining armor to save her, she saved herself!
