Summary: Cat & Mouse
Review: I think that James Patterson is a fine author who can write astory that will keep you enthralled, willing to know what is coming upwhich makes you, glued to your seat. This one however, I just purelyhated. The charcters were flat, so was the plot, being aspredictable. I consider myself a fast paced reader, but this thrillertook me at least 3 weeks to finish. The ending is believable andtastelessly brought on. Scratch that, the WHOLE plot and every eventis pretty much predictable. My worst regrets are A. Reading this bookand B. Not returning it.

If I were the reader, wouldn't waste yourmoney on this tasteless, lifeless,... non-James Pattersonnovel. Sorry James Patterson, I pity you for even spending time towrite this book. Cradle and All was far better.

Summary: Great book and with a small touch of romance
Review: OK, this is the second James Patterson Book I've read. The first one I read was "Roses are Red" and I found that to be a good book. After that story I decided to read Cat&Mouse. This was a lot better then "Roses are Red" What I did notice was that John Sampson with the "sugar" deal was just wierd. I know that they've known each other since they were 10 years old, but it seems wierd. Next is that Alex Cross, seems perfect in everyway. No one has a problem with him and he seems to be the best person to ever walk the planet. Great how Gary Soneji is there and how you have Mr. Smith running around. As much as I've heard from the Alex Cross Novels, they're all one in the same. Alex faces a murderer or two, he sorts out all the clues and hints, finds who he's looking for and then James Patterson leaves you with a cliff hanger ending. Well, usually he does, but not all the time. Other then that I would recomend this book.

Summary: He's back!
Review: Just when you think you've got it all figured out, Patterson throws in another twist. A previous killer, Gary Soneji, is back, along with a killer who is terrorizing Europe. The chase is on, and as always, James Patterson carries it off and leaves you wanting more. Patterson doesn't tie up the end of every book with a nice neat bow, and you never know when a killer is going to show up again. So far, the Alex Cross series shows no sign of slowing down.

Summary: Good! And Twisted.
Review: James Patterson Hits A Homer with this severly twisted tale. It is insightful, frightning and shocking. Good mix of homicidal mania and mystery, with the plus of a romance in work.

Itt isn't as original as Along Came A Spider but it is still good. I would call this a half sequal to Along Cam A Spider, which still makes it fun and enjoyable. Plus it has good suspence.

Summary: CAPTIVATING!
Review: How much do I love the work of James Patterson? Let me count the ways..Along Came a Spider, Kiss the Girls, Hide and Seek, Cat and Mouse - I am just about to start Roses are Red!

I thought that this was one of the best books that Patterson has written. I loved the re-introduction of Gary Soneji as everyone's favourite psycho serial killer, I love the fact that Alex Cross is such a sensational detective, I loved the story - as one killer is caught and killed another is on the hunt (and somehow JP blends them beautifully together).

But, I think the main reason that I love JP's work is the so very fast paced action and dialogue. The fact that Sampson and Cross are brilliant detectives but quite unlike Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme where he knows EVERTHING just by looking at a blade of grass. I love thrillers that keep you turning the pages because you WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT and with his excellent concept of short chapters, you cannot put this one down!

I loved Cat & Mouse for the heart-stopping twists and turns, excellent characters, brilliant storyline and damn fine writing style. If you are looking for a serious crime thriller, that will only take you a day to read as you will not be able to put it down, then definately get Cat & Mouse, you will not be disappointed!

Summary: Exceptional thriller
Review: Cat and Mouse by James Patterson Warner Books, 1997

A former nemisis of Alex Cross, Gary Soneji, has escaped from jail and is intent on building his reputation as the best (worst?) serial killer in the world and to add Alex Cross to his growing list of victims. Shooting people like fish in a barrel in Washington and New York train stations brings Alex in close contact with this vicious psychopath whose final words seems to indicate that Cross and his family are doomed.

Meanwhile in Europe another serial killer nick named "Mr. Smith" is dispatching victims at and incredible rate and he too would like to end the career of Alex Cross. As Alex becomes involved in this case he must figure out the tantalizing clues left by the killer before he too becomes a victim of the brilliant "Mr. Smith".

A real page turner filled with incredible tension softened somewhat and made human by Alex's growing love for the beautiful Christine Johnson. For thriller readers a real must.

Summary: Suprising
Review: This book started off kind of slow. I was tempted to take it back to the library before finishing it. I am glad I stuck with it. Patience is truly a virtue, I was really shocked to find out that Pierce was Mr. Smith. This book really suprised me and I was thoroughly entertained.

Summary: Welcome back Gary Soneji--we've missed you...
Review: We first met up with Gary Soneji in 'Along Came A Spider' and as I read that story I felt that I was being introduced not just to a terrifying and seriously disturbed individual, it almost seemed as though Patterson had patterned him after an honest-to-goodness REAL serial killer. Well I like many others felt that my first introduction to Gary would also be my last...but NO! Patterson has brought him back...and with a vengeance! The opening chapter alone is like a Saturn V rocket at T-Minus 1... LIFT OFF!! You are suddenly launched into motion with no hope of release until the end of the book...and I can assure you that Patterson keeps the tension going throughout.

Now I personally believe that Gary alone could have made this story a 5 star review, but Patterson has gone one step further and introduced an ADDITIONAL killer to the mix, and now Alex Cross isn't just busy, he's frantic with the thought of dealing with TWO murderers at the SAME TIME. As I have said before, Patterson writes his novels in miniature chapters that waste NO TIME getting us to the heart of the matter. Little tiny literary drag races as I call them because each help to keep the story going at incredible speed. Reading Patterson is like reading ON speed--without any side-effects (other than a lack of sleep...). Just one continuous adrenaline rush from page 1 to the absolute last page. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Get to know Alex Cross, easily one of my all-time favorite characters in modern crime/fiction.
