Summary: one of the best patterson books!
Review: Cat and Mouse is a heart-racing book you won't want to put down, and it will have you continually questioning just who is the cat and who is the mouse. Mr. Smith, Cross's psychopathic murdering rival, surpasses Soneji in his cruelty and intelligence and shocks even the avid Patterson reader. Surprises too are in store in this novel as Patterson is known for. I enjoyed every minute reading this book -- it made an 11-hour flight seem much shorter. Read it!

Summary: Terrifying
Review: James Patterson knows how to write one heck of a scary book. A cold blooded murderer, Soneji, is on the loose and killing everyone who crosses his path. In Europe, another psycho, "Mr. Smith", is continuing to mutilate his victims before killing them. No one has a clue who he is and he's already outsmarted the police through 22 murders. Will they ever catch him?

I didn't want to put this book down. It just grabs you and you have to keep reading. An excellent screaming terror.

Summary: Another page-turner from Patterson, but disappointing finish
Review: This is another nice piece of suspenseful writing from Patterson, but ultimately the plot on this one is pretty poor. The killer's "pattern" that Cross magically divines at the end was absolutely absurd.

Summary: Fantastic thriller!
Review: Although this book is #4 in the Alex Cross series, it was my first introduction to James Patterson. And I must say, I was truley blown away by it. Patterson's crisp, economic writing style moves with a speed unlike any other author I have read. Opening the first page of this book was like jumping into a moving car. His storytelling absolutely burns up the page. If you want an edge-of-your-seat thriller with twists and turns that keep you turning the pages, Patterson is your man. And as an aside, it's a real delight to have an African American as a protagonist for a change. Too often they are assigned "buddy" roles or supporting cast type stuff.

Summary: Cat and Mouse almost made it.
Review: Cat and Mouse has you at the very beginning of the book, but then slows down a little towards the middle of the book. Cat and Mouse is definately scarier than Along Came a Spider and Pop Goes the Weasle, but it's not as smart as Along Came a Spider. Like I said in a review I did on Along Came a Spider, I'm only fifteen and I do enjoy some of his books, but the last two I've read can't even compare to Along Came a Spider. Cat and Mouse is probably number 5 on my top ten list of good books. It's good for a quick read and has a pretty good plot. And by the way, PLEASE READ ALONG CAME A SPIDER, BEFORE YOU SEE THE MOVIE! The movie is definately worse than the book although Morgan Freeman gives a heck of a performance.

Summary: This book is classic
Review: This is easily one of the top 3 James Patterson books ever written. Filled with with suspense and suprise Cat & Moves along and a fast pace and will shock you at nearly every corner. However, what keeps this from being a 5 star book is that fact that the book ends in a very abrupt manner which makes you feel like the author simply ran out of time and had to end it as it was.

Summary: Very good...kept me on the edge of my seat
Review: I love the Alex Cross series...Patterson has done a very good job of developing the character and giving his readers a good sense of who Alex is. Cat and Mouse was very suspenseful and full of twists. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Summary: Good plot
Review: The story line of this book and the action was certainly enough to keep my interest but I find that Patterson is not as much an excellent writer as he is a good story teller. His descriptions of the main characters or "the good guys" are just too good to be true. Alex Cross is perfect in every way and everyone in his life is brilliant, beautiful and loves him more than life. That can be distracting. I found myself rolling my eyes at the character descriptions and non-case related dialogue, but glued to the pages when the police work and crimes were unfolding. Patterson's books are sometimes like a beefed up Danielle Steele romance. If you can deal with that, it's definitely worth reading.

Summary: cat-a-roo
Review: This book was very well written mystery thingy of death. It kept me interested for just about the whole entire thing. It's a fine book and if you have the time to read a book about cats and mouses...but not...then read it...or don't. I really don't care, I'm just bored as balls right now!

Summary: WOW
Review: This book was amazing!!! I'm extremely glad i picked it up. I now have a standard against which to set books of the similar genre. Mr. Patterson quite obviously has a quick and clever mind~ this is displayed through the actions and thoughts of his characters. This is a quick and enthralling read, one which most people would classify as an "airport book", whereas i classfiy it as "fun", "interesting", and "unique". Even with all the twists and turns in the plot it's not to diffcult to keep up with. At about 3/4 of the way through, everything that you thought you previously knew as fact suddenly becomes fiction and many of your hypotheses are proved to indeed be true. This is a wonderful book and i would strongly suggest it!
