Rating: Summary: Terrible Review: I just don't understand how James Patterson became a best selling author. Patterson should have retired Alex Cross after "Along Came a Spider." What two men call each other "Sugar?" James Patterson does not deserved to be on the same planet as Richard North Patterson or Nelson DeMille, let alone the same bestseller lists.
Rating: Summary: This book will leave you twisted Review: Just when you're at the edge of your seat actually rooting for the bad guy or the good guy the whole thing changes. Great suspense reading!
Rating: Summary: The Best Book I Read This Year!!! Review: As usual James Patterson has delivered with his Cat & Mouse tale. He continues on his Dr. Alex Cross series with the same fire, if not greater, than he began with. Here the two, Alex and Gary, are finally pitted against one another for their last showdown. You will not put this down, I guarantee it! Buy, beg, borrow, or steal to get your hands on this one! Alright don't steal it, but read this one!
Rating: Summary: Shallow and predictable Review: This is the first Patterson book that I've read. I find it difficult to believe that Cat & Mouse flourished on the bestseller list. The characters have no depth and the plot seems to be put together as the book was written. It seems there was no idea put forth before the book was started. Usually, if I read a book by an author, and I like the book, I will read more books by the same author. In this case, I was severely disappointed and I do not plan to purchase any more Patterson books in fear that it is written in the same poor style.
Rating: Summary: RIVETTING Review: This was the first book I have read by this author but it certainly won't be the last. I found the style of writing very awkward to get used to initially. The author writes many very short chapters which cross from one character to the other and as it is so different to any other style I had read previously I found it difficult to get involved into the story until about chapter 20. I have now realised this is a very easy way to stop the reader wanting to put the book down. I am now ordering all his previous books and have read his latest book " When the Wind Blows " which was every bit as good. The only trouble with his novels is that they don't last long enough ! Small tip - Don't read this book on the bus on the way to work, you can easily miss your stop !
Rating: Summary: Horrible -- threw it out. Review: "Kiss the Girls" and "Along Came a Spider" were great -- what happened here? This has to be one of the most poorly written books I've ever read, not to mention boring and implausible. And what's up with the italics? I gave up halfway through and threw it out. Boo.
Rating: Summary: I never would have guessed!!!! Review: This book was a great mystery. When you find out who the real murderer is it is so surprising. The storyline was good and the telling was great. This was the first James Patterson book I have read but I will definitely read more. Thanks for the great book. Couldn't put it down...A real page turner!!!
Rating: Summary: This book was even more entertaining than Kiss the Girls! Review: James Patterson is excellent at on-the-edge-of-your-seat entertainment. I couldn't put the book down! Gary Soneji vs. Alex Cross vs. Mr. Smith was an interesting match with unexpected suprises all along the way. Just when you think you know what's going on, the road twists and you aren't where you thought you were. Excellent Read!
Rating: Summary: Read Along Came A Spider First Review: It was a little hard for me to take down. The death of my favorite killer, Gary Murphy/Soneji, dissapointed me. It's a good book, but read his other material first. If I could have rewritten the book I'd have Gary kill Mr. Smith in a big showdown. That'd be cool.
Rating: Summary: Very entertaining Review: After seeing the movie Kiss the Girls, I thought I'd try reading a James Patterson novel. I wasn't disappointed. As soon as I finished Cat & Mouse, I bought all of James Patterson's books that I could find.
