Rating: Summary: This author can do better Review: I must say after reading James Patterson's latest I was very disappointed. Really it is two stories combined into one. Niether of which is terribly indepth. While it is "Finishable" all I can say is better luck next time.
Rating: Summary: Patterson's Cross is awsome Review: Awsome is the only way I can describe it. I love all of the Alex Cross books. I hear that Patterson is busy writting another. I, for one, can't wait! Jesse
Rating: Summary: Thoroughly enjoyable, fast paced, and suspenseful. Review: This is the first "Alex Cross" novel I've read. Actually the first anything I've read by James Patterson. I don't think watching "Kiss the Girls" counts. Needless to say, I will be going back and purchasing the earlier Cross novels after reading this one.
Rating: Summary: not his best, but quite good Review: i thought that jack and jill, kiss the girls, and along came a spider are perhaps his best. i read every book as soon as published with the exception of his last.
Rating: Summary: Worth overlooking the little problems Review: While I'm in agreement with those who've pegged this a "don't miss" book; I was disappointed by one or two (maybe three) little things in the book. At one point he refers to Alex's daughter doing "James Brown's famous Elephant walk". It's the "camel walk", from the song (or the song with the lyrics)"there was a time"- and Alex Cross would not have made this mistake. The "Elephant walk" is an old song from the sixties which was a theme for the movie "DAKTARI" starring John Wayne and Red Buttons. Also, I heard that in the first edition there was a different ending. Will we ever know what it was? There's other little stuff but all in all the book is still easily a "don't miss" thriller.
Rating: Summary: Cat and Mouse shows the sick, scary side of the real world. Review: The novel, Cat and Mouse, describes the life of Alex Cross, a Washington detective who is chasing one of the worlds most notorious serial killers, Gary Soneji. The author of the novel, James Patterson takes you through a series of grotesque murders committed by Gary Soneji. With Alex Cross on the case it is a compelling, fast-paced story that forces you to keep reading. Alex Cross has been searching for Gary Soneji ever since he got out of jail and started committing more murders. Gary Soneji's lofty intelligence has made this case more difficult and time consuming than Detective Cross can hardly handle. Soneji's sick mind takes Cross on a wild and exciting "cat and mouse" chase around the east coast. Just when you think that Alex Cross caught Soneji the story turns the opposite direction. Gary Sonejihas a cohort named "Mr. Smith" who is also a demented serial killer out on the rampage. To me the book was the best I have ever read. It kept me in suspence the whole time. James Patterson is a creative writer who deserves all the credit he got. This book well deserves its number one bestseller rating. In my opinion this novel shows thesick side of the real world. James Patterson's use of informal modern English makes the novel easy to read. He symbolizes Cross's old black Porsche, that is in bad need of a paint job, with how Cross does not have enough time to go buy a new car. He spends all of his extra time with his children since the case takes up most of it. Cat and Mouse is filled with true life accounts that will make the reader's curiosity run wild with excitement but will also make them shake with fright. It shows the real world is a scary place that should not be dealt with lighty. The overall theme of the novel is that life is precious and some bad things happen to good people.
Rating: Summary: James Patterson plays cat and mouse with the reader - superb Review: Through twists and turns, James Patterson keeps you on the edge of your seat. The unbelievably horrific works of two serial killers are interwoven in a tale of desperate tracking, detective work and resolution. Detective Alex Cross balances noble family values and romance against a world wide pursuit with a 'hook'at the end.
Rating: Summary: Good plot, but tarnished by obscenties and violence Review: When I bought this book, I thought I would be getting a good suspenseful story. To be fair the plot was very exciting and constantly kept you turning the pages. I think the short chapters and the storylines were very interesting. However, I got a lot more than I wanted. The language was explicit, the violence gruesome, and the sexual references obscene. Surely, the book could have been a lot better without these things. They were completely unnecessary. I was so disgusted I threw the book out and was mad I had wasted my money on it. It would be better to spend money on books like John Grishams' The Partner. It offers the suspense without everything else.
Rating: Summary: Another great Alex Cross story! Review: Patterson has done it again! He has brought the reader a great thriller. If you haven't read 'Along Came a Spider,' 'Kiss the Girls,' and 'Jack & Jill,' you may not understand the full impact of Gary Soneji. I recommend these books. Soneji is one scary guy!
Rating: Summary: ONE OF THE BEST IN THE CROSS SERIES Review: This awsome book starts to off with soneji in a sub station ready for his evil doings shooting people dead in subway station while there is a even sicker killer in France thus guys name is Mr.Smith (because this guy kills humans in such inhuman ways they say he can't be from here ,thats the name of the Alien in the book Stranger in a strangeland .)he only goes for doctors and there is no true pattern .This killer is the most well written villian in any story this guy makes soneji and cassanova look like postal workers . Now getting back to Cross he has his last show down in the train station where Soneji catches on fire . That night they have a little party . But that night someone who has as much hate for Cross as Soneji sneaks in the house . Is it Soneji or is it Mr.Smith? I am not bout to tell you buy the book it deserves some sells .
