Summary: Why did i even start it?
Review: That was the question i kept asking myself while i was reading that crap. I wish i knew of an Alex Cross. That guy is amazing! A detective, PHd, great single father, and scores with the most beautiful chick in washington! His kids are awesome, too! I was waiting for Jeanne to psycoanalyze Soneji! If it took that long to catch/kill Soneji, than i'm worried for America's future. Patterson's writing kills me. He sounds so rundandant when ever he gets into the mind of Soneji (how smart he is, how dumb the cops are). My girlfriend said it best when she said it looks like patterson picked up a how-to-write-a-novel book, and followed chapter by chapter. Put it this way. I left the book in a hotel room for the maids to deal with it.

Summary: A Worthy Sequel
Review: I loved "Kiss the Girls" and "Along came a Spider" and I loved this latest book as well.

It was as fast-paced and thrilling as the others. Okay, Gary Soneji finds his demise way to early, but then ... there is still Mr. Smith to keep the reader interested.

I think switching first person narrative from Alex Cross to Agent Thomas Pierce in the middle of the book was a nice twist and added to the story.

I had my suspicions on the identity of Mr. Smith early on, but that did not diminish my reading pleasure. I kept telling myself that this could not be true only to learn near the end that the FBI had had the same suspicions from the beginning. Well, good for me, I'm as smart as the FBI ! :-)

Usually I am not into love scenes, I don't think, a detective story is the right place for them, but in this case I granted it to Alex Cross. Maybe the reason is that I read Patricia Cornwells "Point of Origin" prior to this book, where everyone seems to suffer from severe depression. So I was relieved that at least someone in law enforcement finally finds some joy in life.

I would recommend "Cat and Mouse" to any James Patterson and Alex Cross fan, though it's probably best to read the books in order. I for one am still wondering how Soneji got out of prison, but that's probably in a book I haven't read yet.

Summary: Great! Absolutly Great! I couldn't put it down!
Review: I've read Kiss the Girls, Cat and Mouse, Along Came a Spider and Jack and Jill. Patterson is an awesome writer and I can't wait for new ones to come out. Once you start this book, you won't be able to put it down. He is the best author out there and this is just another great example of his finest. Read and you won't be dissapointed!

Summary: Mainstream Drivel With An Obvious Ending
Review: I could tell right away who the real murderer was & why & how they would catch him. This man does not know the meaning of suspense. Since only the bad guys seem to have any spark, I found myself rooting for them instead of the blandola hero. If the FBI is actually as clueless as depicted in Patterson's novels, I fear for the welfare of our country's citizens. And the sappy romance without the smallest element of originality (all the men find only supermodel-type women endearing) was just more than I could bear. As they smooched, I retched. The writing was so bad that the lame story loomed even lamer in the landscape of bad books the American popular presses keep popping out.

Summary: superb
Review: It's great to see that Cross' old 'friend' is back- Gary Soneji. The story is as thrilling as all the others, Along Came a Spider, Kiss the Girls, and Jack and Jill.

Summary: disappointing
Review: I must start out by saying that I did not finish the entire book, i COULDN'T! I loved ALONG CAME A SPIDER and KISS THE GIRLS. I found them to be terrifying and very suspenseful. This book was neither. As I've said, I didn't finish this book, so maybe it gets better in the end. I found this book to be ludicrous, alsolutely not suspenseful and I could have done without the big sex scene. It had nothing to do with the story, and was kinda creepy.

Summary: two books in one! Pierce warranted a book to himself!
Review: Enjoyed the book immensely, a pity I read it out of chronological order. Just had to read along came a spider immediately afterwards. Soneji killed off too early, i felt. Room for more suspense though wondering if he really is dead! Good escapism, doesn't pay to analyse the plot too carefully. Gobsmacked at the end!

Summary: A great read!
Review: As I finsihed reading Cat & Mouse I moaned in deparation that I had to wait for Patterson's book to find out what happened. Recently, I traveled to the US and inquired about the new book. To my surprise I learned that the ending I read was different from the ending everyone else read in the US. My book was purchased in the UK. When I was in the UK last week I was still unable to find the new book. Can anyone help me? First, has the next book been published? Second, where can I obtain a copy of the book that continues with the ending I read which is where Christine is kidnapped in Bermuda?

Summary: dire, plotless and amateur
Review: The first few James Patterson novels were excellent. This seems to have sapped his creative juices dry as the plot in this book held less intrigue than an episode of Scooby Doo. Clumsy writing, annoying constant chapters (cheap trick to convey fast paced action.. perhaps writing properly would help instead???) and halfway through the book a moment that has you howling with laughter, with so many changes of narration perspective I gave up trying to work out exactly who was spouting what...

Very very disappointing - in the corner Mr Patterson and wear this pointy hat....
