Summary: Fantastic series!
Review: "Immortal in Death" by J.D. Robb is the third instalment in the "In Death" series and it does not disappoint. We continue to learn more about Lieutenant Eve Dallas of the NYPSD and her billionaire fiancé, Roarke. The book is set in the year 2058, and though there are many cool new gadgets and technologies, human nature remains the same. The futuristic setting adds a fresh new perspective, yet never detracts from the main storyline.
In this book, Eve's flamboyant best friend, Mavis Freestone, has been accused of murdering a top model. Eve is determined to find the true killer and prove Mavis' innocence, and so she goes into overdrive doing just that. Eve turns up a connection to a new illegal drug, which benefits the user with restored youthfulness, but is also highly addictive and fatal! Now it is up to Eve to connect the dots that lead to a killer, and save her best friend!
This book is thrilling, suspenseful, fun, and full of great passion between Eve and Roarke. Robb blends the romance with the suspense seamlessly and I am in awe of her ability to create vivid and true-to-life characters who become completely real to the reader. Eve is a wonderfully strong woman, with a past full of dark and troubling secrets. Roarke is the perfect match for her and getting to know these two has been a wonderfully rewarding experience. You will not regret buying a single book in this series, so buy them all today and enjoy!

Summary: The futuristic series that captivates
Review: At the end of the previous book, "Glory in Death", Roarke proposed to Lieutenant Eve Dallas after they were both involved in a life-threatening situation with a dangerous killer. Nora Roberts, writing as J.D. Robb, shocks us right from the start of this book, when we find that Eve accepted the marriage proposal! For those of you that have read the previous novels, this must come as much of a surprise as it was for me. Eve has always had trouble accepting the fact that she was in love, so it was almost unthinkable that she would be willing to share her life with the billionaire Roarke. However, this sets the tone for the things to come in this book, where we will find out several interesting facts from Eve and Roarke's past. These tidbits of information help us make sense of the attitudes we witnessed from several of the main characters in the past.

This time, the crimes Eve has to investigate are very close to home. Eve's best friend, Mavis, has convinced her to consult with designer Leonardo about her wedding dress. Mavis is in a relationship with the designer, and facing a very jealous ex-girlfriend, Pandora, who is literally fighting to get Leonardo back. One night, Mavis calls Eve in a frantic state from Leonardo's study and asks for help. She had found Pandora, the supermodel with which she had a big fight hours ago, lifeless on the study floor. Eve sets out to find out the culprit and clear her friend. In the meantime, one of Eve's informants turns up dead too, and the investigation leads to a new and deadly drug.

Robb has created a wonderful setting for her mysteries, New York in the year 2058, and has perfected the mix with some great characters, making this one hell of series. In this particular case, besides the "usual suspects", we are introduced to the character of detective Peabody, Eve's new partner after Feeney's promotion as captain of another division.

Even though I think there is a clear advantage of reading this series in order, and grasp the complexities and personal history of each character, the books stand well on their own. Moreover, J.D. Robb does a great job in describing the futuristic world efficiently through examples intertwined in the narration of the events, without making it boring for those of us who are already aware of what the "rules" are. Whether you try this book on its own or you start from the beginning of the series with "Naked in Death", I can guarantee that you will enjoy reading about Lieutenant Eve Dallas and her friends.

Summary: # 3 is a HIT!
Review: BETTER & BETTER, How is that possible? Mavis is more fully developed & gets her own sexy "love interest" Officer Peabody, shows up again & is very involved in this one. Lots of RED HERRINGS in the best tradition, Witty, fast paced dialogue & Believible future tech. Roarke watching Eve deal with things out of her element, then taking care of those same things in his caring, sexy way... YUM. Ms. Robb has captured the "future, mystery, romance" market with this great series.

Summary: Is the price of immortality death?
Review: Cop Eve Dallas is at it again. This is #3 in the series. Pushing herself beyond what many people would to solve a crime. She is trying to prove her best friend didn't commit a murder and even when her best friend is cleared she still doesn't feel that the outcome is the right one. Along with this she is trying to prepare for her wedding as well as deal with her past and the dreams she is having.

Enter into the mix a ... "illegals cop", a couple of high strung fashion models who want to live and be young forever as well as Officer Peabody and things take off at a fast paced clip that will have you following along in desperation.

I for one didn't see the ending of this one coming. I missed some of the hints along the way which is the way I like it! A definite keeper - looking for #3 in the series now!

Summary: Just Read Them!
Review: Don't read any more reviews, type in jd robb and order the series. All the books are great, but to really get the feel of the characters of Dallas and Rourke, start at the beginning and spend the summer with them! You won't be sorry! For mystery fans there is action and plenty of it, not to mention puzzles to solve and intrigue to enjoy. For those of you who prefer romances...these books are for YOU, too! You will NOT be disappointed! So, quit reading this and order yourself some fun!

Summary: Eve Dallas, Tough Cop
Review: Eve Dallas is back. J. D. Robb (Nora Roberts) has a winning formula for a mystery series will keep readers coming back as a new one hits the stands. Eve is tough and capable with enough baggage in her past to "write a book." In Immortal in Death Eve's best friend is accused of murder. Reading the Eve Dallas stories is more fun than watching NYPD.

Summary: Tough and tender married love
Review: I am not a romance genre fan (generally the reverse), but I love the dynamics in the marriage of Eve Dallas and Roarke: both deeply wounded and deeply in love with each other. A loving marriage has tremendous healing power, a wounded past has tremendous power to make waves in a marriage, and Nora Roberts (alias J.D. Robb) has struck a beautiful balance in this book.
