Summary: Gripping!
Review: First I saw 'Kiss the Girls' with Morgan Freeman; which led me to Patterson's books. Fantastic! I just wish there were more of them to read. I can't wait for the movie release of 'Along Came a Spider' with Morgan Freeman reprising the Alex Cross role. In reading Jack & Jill I could see, hear and feel Freeman's Cross. The Sojourner Truth murders, especially, seemed to harken right from the front page of our newspaper. Sad commentary on America, but true. The glimpse of CIA and our intelligence mechanism is scary, too. You and I have no idea how corrupt our government is at some levels...

Summary: A big disappointment.
Review: I surprised myself by actually finishing this book. After reading Along Came A Spider and Kiss The Girls I expected a lot more from this book. Don't bother.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: It kept me guessing what would happen next.
Review: This book kept me guessing--some of the time I guessed wrong. I like that in a book. This book kept my interest until the very end.

Summary: MUST READ
Review: LOVED IT! HOWEVER, THE LAST CHAPTERS OUR CONFUSING. THE FIRST CHAPTER OF CAT AND MOUSE DOESNT EXPLAIN. I LOVE THIS BOOK AND HAVE JUST STARTED READING KISS THE GIRLS. END

Summary: Jack & Jill came to the hill for a thrill ride !
Review: James Patterson's books are addictive and usually a compelling read. I was reading Patricia Cornwell's Postmortem halfway through, for two weeks but switched to this book and finished it within a week. What make JP's books appealing are those short chapters, good characterisation, well plotted twists and turns. Readers are able to associate with his stories as JP is in touch with our times ... those songs, movies and some popular and actual events that happened around us. JP also try to reflect some reality bites facts on our society as quoted from this book : - There are so goddamn many of them. Wave upon wave, it seems. Young and old, and everything in between. What are these monsters coming from in America? What has created them?

Summary: Another great read from Patterson
Review: I have read all of James Patterson's books. His books keep you turning pages through the night. I love his character Alex Cross. He is believable as both a person and a cop. His books keep you guessing right till the end. Just when you think you have it you learn that you don't. I am looking forward to reading Cat and Mouse.

Summary: It was a real page turner.
Review: This was a very exciting book. I enjoyed James Patterson's first book Along Came a Spider and I enjoyed Jack and Jill as well. The characters in Jack and Jill make the book exciting and suspenseful. If your looking for a book to cozy up with on a boring night, I would recommend this one. I promise you won't be bored.

Summary: Patterson has done better
Review: I read Kiss the Girls and was so caught up in that I couldn't put it down. Maybe that is the cause for my mild disappointment in Jack and Jill. It was suspensful and had an interesting plot but it just wasn't the page turner that I had been expecting. Don't get me wrong, once I got into it it was hard to put down, the only problem was that it took me about the first third of the book to do so. Patterson still does a good job with detective Alex Cross' character and he also still writes in short chapters, which make even the not so exciting parts quick to get through. Overall, I guess I would recommend this book if you like Patterson and have the patience to wait for the expected excitment.

Summary: Rarely a predictible moment, true suspense to the end
Review: Jack and Jill are more than they seem. On the surface they are cold-blooded serial killers, while the page by page, Patterson shapes the feeling that the random violent deaths signal something even more sinister. Meanwhile children are being murdered in Alex's home neighborhood hightening Cross's frustration over not being able to be in two places at once. Is there a connection between the two sets of murders? James Patterson's artistic writing style weaves the two strings of serial murder to gripping conclusions. I couldn't read fast enough to find out how the two sets of murders would be resolved but at the same time I didn't want to miss one phrase of Patterson's beautiful language. The only weak area of the book was reconcilling the two sets of murders with each other. I wantd a stronger parallel between the Jack and Jill murders and the Truth Sojourner murders. I would recommend this book to anyone who like a well written, suspenseful thriller.

Summary: Doesn't live up to Kiss the Girls
Review: I like Patterson so I'm not saying that I don't like this book, it just didn't compare to Kiss the Girls. It was suspensful and had a good plot but I didn't find it to be as much of a page turner as I had hoped it would be. Don't get me wrong, once I got into it it was hard to put down, the only problem was that it took me about the first third of the book to do so. Patterson still does a good job of portraying Dr. Alex Cross in such a way that you feel like you know him and his short chapters make even the not so exciting parts quick to get through. Overall I guess I would recommend this book if you like Patterson and have the patience to wait for the expected excitment.
