Rating: Summary: Ok Review: Not a bad read, it is a lot better than his new book Violets are Blue which is an absolute shocker - (terrible). This one could be the basis for an intersting new series, all characters have been developed and the story is not bad. As usual the chapters are too short which is annoying but I read it in half a day. I will await the next book in this series and never read a Alex Cross book again.
Rating: Summary: 1st to Die by talented writter James Patterson is super! Review: 1st to Die is a real entertaining read-- one I truly enjoyed from the first page to the last-- Lindsay Boxer is a homicde inspector who has just received some very bad news-- enter The Women's Murder Club-- pitting four San Franciso professionals against a twisted serial killer.
Rating: Summary: 1st to Die Review: This novel has me hooked on James Patterson and his style of mystery writing. Each time I thought I had figured out "who dunnit" the course of the novel changed. Kept me on the edge of my seat to the end. Excellent reading.
Rating: Summary: First To Die Is A Mystery To Die For Review: Talented writer James Patterson puts his best foot forward in this amazing tale of mystery and intrigue. I had trouble putting the book down! Lindsey (a female homicide inspector) is on the trail of serial killer with a little help from a few friends. A Must Read Book by James Patterson.
Rating: Summary: This Book Keeps You Guessing Until the End Review: I picked up "1st to Die" after seeing the movie based on James Patterson's "Along Came a Spider" and once I started reading I could not put the book down. I finished reading it in one sitting and remained intrigued the entire time. Patterson uses several plot twists to keep his reader guessing until the very end, which is a huge surprise. You'll never guess the ending of this book, no matter how many suspense books you've read, or how good you are at solving mysteries.
Rating: Summary: A Good Start For The Women Murders Club Review: A good suspense novel from James Patterson, it'll keep you read until the end, and don't wanna let go. Fast pace, althought a little slower than Alex Cross series, but still one of the best books by James Patterson, it makes me hard to wait for the "2nd Chance" .......
Rating: Summary: It was great Review: A fan of Alex Cross, I was hesitant to try something diffrent. But I am so glad I did, because 1st to Die was excellent. John Patterson does a great job writing in a feminine voice. And the way he gets inside a killer's mind is eerie. But makes for a great book!
Rating: Summary: Middle of the Road Patterson Review: "First to Die" is mediocre James Patterson; not his worst but far from his best. It appears that it's an attempt to start a new series but, if so, it has a way to go. He introduces four women - a homicide inspector, a medical examiner, a reporter, and an attorney - and then involves them in a story that seems somewhat cut and dry at first but later becomes more of a mystery. Presumably the idea is that these four solve the crime but in reality that isn't the case; they meet and talk about it and share ideas but the actual solution comes more from routine police work than anything else. There's no indication that if these four had never met, things would have turned out any different. The dialogue is somewhat pedestrian and there is one odd aspect that is hard to discuss without giving anything away; suffice it to say that the book begins with a prologue that seems to be leading to a major plot twist but most of the way through the book, it is just tossed away as no big deal. "First to Die" is not a bad book but it suffers from what I have seen in others such as recent efforts by Ridley Pearson and Stuart Woods; when authors become too prolific, they begin to crank out pretty routine stuff. Patterson has done some good work and probably will again but if he is determined to start a new series centered around these four (and, quite frankly, the whole premise is shaky because of the natural antipathy between the press and the police; it seems more of a feminist bonding than a realistic depiction of relationships), he needs to strengthen the characters and come up with a better story to showcase them.
Rating: Summary: Excellent new series Review: Excellent new series with tons of potential. If you liked the Cross series of books, you will love this one. The mix of ladies that take on the role of heroin is quite compelling and the storyline never loses interest for the reader. Highly recommended, cannot wait until the next novel. Very fast read, completed in one sitting.
Rating: Summary: Loyal Alex Cross fan Review: I have read all of the Alex Cross's series and loved each and every one. So I thought that I would give the Women's Murder Club a try. Big mistake. I was not impressed with this book. The story was long and dragged out. It was like a boring movie of the week type of deal. The ending was suprising though. That was the one good thing about it. I hope he sticks to more Alex.
