Rating: Summary: Plum defeats appendage cutting whacko Review: This is another solid and humorous Plum novel. It doesn't move quite as lively as "One" did, but it is well worth the effort to read. Profanity is excessive, but hey, its Jersey. Forgeddaboutit.
Rating: Summary: Excellent, Excellent, Excellent Review: Keep up the great work Evanovich - we need more books like this!
Rating: Summary: an undercooked Stephanie Plum... Review: Two for the Dough is my second Stephanie Plum detective novel, after having made the mistake of reading Evanovich's later High Five first. Why was it a mistake? Well...Firstly for those unaware, Stephanie Plum is like a Bridget Jones except she is from New Jersey ... and she is a bounty hunter. When you think of it, it is a very funny scenario. Not only is Stephanie Plum hilarious, but her co-workers and family are zany in a lovable way. Two for the Dough basically tells of a mildly interesting mystery where Stephanie is trying to apprehend a rather psychotic individual and has to deal with sliced-off body parts, missing coffins, and stolen assault weapons in the process. Actually, it sounds better than it reads. Unlike High Five, Two for the Dough concentrates too much on this a single-threaded mystery and not enough on Stephanie's (hilarious) personal life. High Five has the great one-liners, Two for the Dough does not. Bottom line: High Five is a MUST read; think of it as a Stephanie Plum novel polished to perfection. Two for the Dough is an optional stepping stone along the way in the Stephanie Plum series; it yields smiles but few laughs.
Rating: Summary: very funny, better than the first Review: I really enjoyed this book, the relationship between Stephanie and Morelli is tense, the reader knows they are crazy about each other, but Stephanie is not so sure yet. I loved the way the reader gets involved in Stephanies home life, her family is really funny, since they remind me of my family! Looking forward to reading #3.
Rating: Summary: I laughed out loud- comedy and mystery a heady combo Review: I have enjoyed everyone of the Stephanie Plum books. Stephanie the bounty hunter is looking for Kenny. She gets a little help from her sometimes cop boyfriend Joe and fellow bounty hunter the sexy Ranger. She gets a little help from her pistol packing granny who isn't afraid to tell it like it is. I don't think I have laughed harder when reading a mystery book. What a wonderful combonation. The grandmothers antics in the funeral parlor are a riot. The romance between the cop Joe and Stephanie keeps me hoping they get together because together they are hot. The sexy Ranger, the bail bondman, and all the other characters only add to the story.
Rating: Summary: Two for the Dough Review: I love this book and all of the book is this series. Stephanie Plum is an awesome character. She is funny, brave, smart, and she has a lot of spunk. I love the sexual tension between her and Morelli, and I think that the author does a great job keeping me interested in all that is going on in the plot. I highly recommend this and all of the books in this series.
Rating: Summary: The Choicest Plum in the Bunch Review: I have read all the books in the Plum series and this one is the best. Stephanie's Grandma and her antics at the funeral home are a hoot! Stephanie and Joe (her sometime lover) are hot, hot, hot! This book is pure fun. I loved it so much I sent it to my Dad and got him hooked. I bought the book-on-tape for my husband (he travels by car a lot). He liked the story but, not the reader. Her name is Lorry Petty. If you are looking to get the audio version, don't get this one. She has a high-pitched squeaky voice which can be quite annoying.
Rating: Summary: More Hilarity from Stephanie Plum Review: Like I said in my review of the first book in the Stephanie Plum series, 'One for the Money', Evanovich's genius is in writing such a wonderful, entertaining character. The story in the second book is a little better than the first, but you will soon decide that it does not matter what she writes about as long as she does it in fine Stephanie Plum style. If you have read 'One for the Money' chances are you are only reading this review by accident because you would have already started reading 'Two for the Dough'. If not, start at the beginning and enjoy the ride.
Rating: Summary: If I Laughed Any Louder... Review: I would have been carted away. The divine tough-talking, impossibly inept bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is back, along with her entire cast of totally loony characters. Speaking of whom...let me just get a word of appreciation in for the long-suffering man of few words, Mr. Plum, Stephanie's father. His eloquent sighs, one-word epithets, and vain attempts to hide in front of a blasting TV are priceless. The plot is much the same as the first book: Stephanie seeks bad guy, aided by the sexy Morelli. Not as much of Ranger in this book, but Morelli makes up for it. A great deal of the action transpires in a slimy (the only word I could think of) funeral parlor run by an equally slimy rat-like creature named Spiro. He has managed to misplace two dozen caskets...along with various body parts of those in his...um....eternal care. You MUST read this book!!!! Hilarious, outrageous, fast-paced, delightful--what more do you want? Well, if you were Stephanie, you could go for a greasy cheeseburger and fries just about now...
Rating: Summary: Evanovich and Plum-What a Team! Review: I love this character that has evolved from this fine author! I cannot get enough of this series which has a lot to offer. In this instalment, Plum is chasing after Kenny Mancuso who's accused of killing his best friend. Along for the ride is a great supporting cast of characters including Ranger, Joe Morelli and Grandma Mazur. However, Stephanie gets more than what she bargains for, because she's a relatively new and inexperienced bounty hunter who has more luck than skill on her side. Great entertaining read that never leaves the reader bored.
