Rating: Summary: Garbage Review: What garbage. I heard some good things about this series on the radio and read the reviews online. All seemed to be in order until I read the first few pages. What simplistic, bombastic garbage. Cardboard characters, a weak storey line, and an unbelievablely cavalier attitude to violence (even for people from New Jersey - I never realized they all had a "Bruce Willis" nerve in the face of life threatening danger for themselves and their families). My biggest mistake was purchasing two of these sad sack books at once. I worry about the state of popular reading when the reviews for this series are so positive.
Rating: Summary: Another good Stephanie Plum book!!! Review: Two For The Dough was another good book by Janet Evanovich, however I think I liked the first one better. Two For The Dough finds Stephanie chasing after Kenny Mancuso, who is Joe Morelli's cousin. Grandma Mazur gets in on the action again, this time she really gets down and dirty. Stephanie moves back to the comforts of home for a while, only to find that she wasn't missing much. I can hardly wait to start Three To Get Deadly.
Rating: Summary: Thank you, Mrs. Evanovitch! Review: My reading group has chosen the first book, One for the Money, and the same day I finished it, i went and bought the second one. I love the action, and especially the heat between Stephanie and Joe. I loved it when she left him in the street, practically naked. He deserved it!
Rating: Summary: Even better than the first Review: If you thought the first book in this series was good, this one is even better. And if you haven't read the first book, do it. Stephanie Plum is quick becoming my favorite heroine of fiction. I love the way Evanovich writes, the way the story keeps moving along, and all the subplots and side characters. All the characters are interesting and fit nicely into the story. A lot of what Stephanie Plum goes through is exactly what any of us would, were we in her position. But she has spunk and a smart mouth, and sometimes that's all it takes. There is some violence in this book and the others, and after reading some of the more negative reviews I guess this was a turn-off to some people. However, I didn't find the violence done in poor taste, and it certainly was a lot less than what you watch on cable TV. And it also fits with the story. Bounty hunters usually see their share of violence simply because of the people they associate with and to pretend otherwise would destroy the credibility of the series. I loved it, can't wait to read all of them. Hope Janet Evanovich is already working on another one!!
Rating: Summary: Laugh out loud Review: A truly funny, well written book. The Stephanie Plum series is better read in order. My favorite scene is when the ladies were comparing guns in the beauty shop. And Grandma Mazur is truly a great character. Definately worth reading.
Rating: Summary: funniest sleuth book i ever read. Review: A friend turned me on to Setphanie, and I don't regret it. Just finished Three to get deadly and i loved it. Good read!
Rating: Summary: My Favorite Book! Review: This is the second book of the trials and tribulations of bounty hunter Stephanie Plum. At this time, there are a total of four, and while all four books are hilarious good fun, I loved the second one by far. Grandma Mazur has got to be funniest granny around, and Stephanie's car problems had me in stitches. Every character Evanovich incorporates is great. And while I'm not a romance buff, she really knows how to create a hunky male character. I'm half in love with Ranger and Joe Morelli myself!
Rating: Summary: Be prepared to laugh out loud! Review: Thank you Amazon.com for turning me on to Evanovich! Stephanie Plum is my hero - - very real and down-to-earth. The situations she gets herself into are hilarious. Grandma Mazur, and her "funeral parlor fetish" make this book that much more fun. I've read the first three in this series, and I can't wait to read "Four to Score".
Rating: Summary: Funny Review: I love Stephanie Plum , Grandma Mazur and the whole assorted family of cousins, aunts and uncles. I think Janet Evanovich has created a character that many women can identify with. Stephanie is a down-to-earth girl with a great sense of humor, who manages to make bounty hunting sound like a good career choice.
Rating: Summary: I can't wait to read number three! Review: I've read both one and two, and am looking forward to reading the third book. The subtle humor throughout the book is light and extremely entertaining. I think the character of "Granny" is absolutely hilarious...I have a wonderful visual image of her! Keep writing, Janet!
